So, I just watched Dark Phoenix... • So, I just watched Dark Phoenix...
Film/Television

To start with, I was not raised on comic books or superheroes, so I'm not concerned with "in the comics". Only thing I liked was Batman Animated, and that was mostly because little gay brain was obsessed with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy (I'm 32 now, that's long been figured out 🤣🌈)

Almost two years ago this winter, I grinded out pretty much all the MCU (and other major things pre-MCU). I'm realistically only missing D&W and maybe one or two other mainline things now.

Literally over the last couple days I finally sat down to do X-Men. Original ones were obviously dripping with Y2K edginess, but good. I was actually even liking the McAvoy/Prequel ones.

Until Dark Phoenix. It's bad to me. It's left a bad taste in my SOUL 😬

It all feels absolutely phoned in. Jean's the worst, since the focus is on her, but it's like NOBODY tried. Hell, even the pic of Mystique on Hank's desk at the end looks like a still badly CGI'd into a frame. And not, ya know, AN ACTUAL PHOTO IN AN ACTUAL FRAME!!

This was more an opinionated rant rather than asking anyone anything, but is there anything left to worry about? Mostly all I have left is the non-canon type things, like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Already basically finished most of the Netflix/Defenders shows and like them, so not worried there 😅🤷♀
