I Am A, where the mundane becomes fascinating and the outrageous suddenly seems normal.
Hi friends, I'm excited to be here for another AMA.
I've been keeping busy these days with a few projects, including my venture fund and incubator Playground Global and my company Essential, which recently released our first product, Essential Phone. You can check it out here:

I can't hate on Andy Rubin it must be really tough developing a new company in a crowded industry, especially Tech - probably the most crowded industry. I appreciate everything he has done even this gem he's created, the best we can do is just keep it and cherish it and put it on the mantle piece with our sidekicks.
The phone will still be beautiful to hold and it's okay it'll last another 2 or 3 years and then phones will be full surface touch screens anyway, just a part of the industry. Nothing lasts forever, just be happy that you have the chance to even have a device made out of ceramic and titanium - really a blessing when everyone is using the same boring-ass materials. Aluminum is a choice #Kanye.
I really appreciate Andy for making this phone in the first place. My phone is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I will cherish it and make sure that it doesn't ever hit the floor lol. I'm not going to hate on Andy because it took a lot of balls to develop a company out of nowhere and have the manufacturing backing + angel investors, pretty sweet to only happen in about 2 years time.
Think of it like this, everyone who has one knows its limited edition AF and no one can get it after that so you might as well brag about having one in the first place like a golden iPhone. It's okay, this will be the phone that I have in the back of my mind and the bottom of my drawer. Hats off to Andy for taking a chance and proving that people can just disrupt industries at a moment's notice, that's what this phone means to me. Someone who took a stand and made a real difference although it didn't last it still was a spartan of its time.
