Best single year Cardinal since McGuire or Gibson. Rewatching the phenomenal 2011 run, and we have the obvious stars. But we wouldn’t be there without Allen Craig.

Somehow omitted Sandoval from the title..
Allen Craig: 5/31M (-0.9 fWAR)
Rusney Castillo: 7/72 (1.3)
Pablo Sandoval: 5/95 (-2.6)
Craig and Castillo haven't appeared in the Majors since 2015. Since 2013, Mike Aviles is the only player to have posted a lower fWAR (-2.7) than these three combined.

So what ever happened to Allen Craig? I remember when this guy was top of the line on the Cardinals, then he was traded to Boston and kinda fell off the face of the planet. I’m neither a Boston or St Louis fan, so I’ve not really looked into his downfall. Maybe a fan of one of the said teams could explain to me a little more of what happened to him. I feel he was one of MLB’s most recent catastrophic fall from graces

Don't look now but he might be heating up
Good luck in El Paso, Allen. Thanks for all the memories.
Craig takes a pitch to the head, and still makes it to first base. That's how to improve your OBP!

Lets say, hypothetically, the Twins trade us for PB, so he's out of the picture. That leaves us with only Randy G. for a bench outfielder, so we need depth.
With the Sox having 450 outfielders this year, I am positive they would be open to offers for Allen. They really need to move him.
Now I'm not saying that we should trade for Allen Craig, but it would likely only take some low level prospects to get the deal done. What my question is, would it be smart of Mo and the Cards to trade for Craig, and if so, would he be ok with assuming a bench role? Also, what are your thoughts/opinions on the matter?
Trade talks mostly consist of Allen Craig and Matt Adams. Now that Taveras is up and on a roll already, the front office clearly wants to make room. Which bat is more appealing to other teams and which one will give us a better player in return? The two players are very similar, except Craig can play 1B or OF. Clearly, the goal is to get either a starting pitcher or a prospect. Jon Jay is in the talks for trade as well, but that was even before anything happened with Taveras. What is the best option? Who are we targeting? Honestly, it's really tough to see any of these players go, because they're all great ball players.
Cardinal fans I really really like Allen Craig and really enjoy watching him bat. I am wondering if anyone knows how he feels about STL, going into his final year on his contract I am wondering if he wants to continue to play with STL in future years I really hope so.
