      Yeah. I was really impressed with her shoulder caps after seeing the trailer but they looked possibly artificial. Looking at pics of her from around that time period I am inclined to think her muscles were enhanced.

      Same. I think it's really cool when I see people get jacked at a later age so I was really interested when I saw her in that trailer. I went looking to see if there's any info about her workout routines and progress or anything and that's when I started to realize it was probably just CG.

      There's nothing to criticize. She probably could have got there if she had more time, but boosting her build through CG is fine too

      It might sound right but after the last couple of weeks in the United States, some of us don't feel quite as casual objectifying a woman's body.

      This is how we get to these points, normalizing things like an extended conversation on whether Natalie Portman's muscle mass is worthy of my approval just feels a little grotesque in light of it all.

      are the little dots on her arms for cgi muscle enhancement? Or does she have some cgi armor there in the final shots or something?

      You'd be surprised how often the actors in Marvel movies are replaced by fully CGI versions of themselves. The dots are probably to help VFX artists in scenes where her character transitions from fully CGI to live-action, such as during long jumps, falls, and other stunts.

      When did she finish filming? If she didn't want to keep up the regimen after she finished filming, which is perfectly reasonable, then muscle tone can start to vanish surprisingly quickly. I say this as a guy who experienced this when I stopped lifting heavy things for 8 hours a day to then sit on my arse for 8 hours a day.

      I haven’t worked out since pandemic began and my muscle tone is lower but still visibly there. I know Everyone is different. She probably had a little cgi help and didn’t put on quite as much muscle tone as we are seeing in the movie.

      Are you male or female though? Portman is naturally a smaller woman, so it'd be quicker for her to revert back to her normal body type than a large male

      In addition to what everyone else has said, some actors go through craaaaazy quick shifts in body shape. Christian Bale being one of the most extreme examples.

      Agreed, and i acknowledge those crazy transformations, just curious what her process was. I’m a female her same height, overdid the shoulders and cut back so they’d balance out but it took FOREVER for me to stop looking like bane from Dark knight rises lol.

        I love how shes been brough back. And no longer as just a sassy scientist but a fucking badass. I felt like her character just being written out as a breakup off screen wasnt proper justice to her.

        I hope people know this Harvard educated beauty worked hard for this moment. Yes, she signed up to play the Love interest of a superhero, but she decided to take a stand and ask for her character to be more than a smart sassy love interest. As a result Marvel Comics heard and addressed her concern’s about a lack of (especially at the Time) strong female characters. The Lady Thor comic was realized, and yes people whined about it, because all change must be bitched about. Then this recent comic event was brought to the movies. No matter who you are, no matter how you feel, you have to admit that is badass. Congrats Natalie, you literally made this mOment happen.

        It is always people that are NOT actual fans of the specified comic that get angry when something happens. Storm from the X-men was given a fake hammer by Loki and eventually destroyed it with the real one. There were crossovers with DC where Superman and Wonder Woman have wielded the hammer. Moon Knight can wield it canonically because it was made from ore from a moon. Even Squirrel Girl has used it.

        I mean, filming wrapped up a year ago, she probably either didn’t want to maintain that much muscle, or she’s filming other things she doesn’t need it for. Either way, she definitely had the muscle, just not as much now.
