Azealia can be a nightmare but boy when she’s right, she’s RIGHT. I’ll never forget her emotional Hot97 interview where she got really emotional and explained why someone like Iggy coming into the hip hop space is so distressing. Hip Hop does not belong to everyone-not white people, not non American black peoples…it’s an African American art form. So if you come into that space come in with respect. And don’t present yourself as a caricature of what you think black women in general are. It’s a slap in the face. What Iggy recently did with defending this leprechaun is a microcosm of why.

Iggy has a known hatred of Black women. She has repeatedly done and said demeaning things about black women, so I’m not surprised of this behavior from her. Iggy has benefited from black men who are anti-black so they had no problem with this white woman coming in doing a blaccent and trying to profit our culture while continuously being racist and that no problem selling out our culture also shoot gas Iggy up to think that she is in fact, better than black women, so I’m not surprised that she would write a letter in support of Tory because she most likely doesn’t believe Megan or she does believe that Tory did shoot Megan but she does not care because he would never do that to beautiful perfect white innocent submissive Iggy because Megan had to do something to deserve what happened to her she was probably too loud and disobedient. It would be really, really nice if people cared as much about the very real destruction of Meghan Thee Stallion’s life as they do about the hypothetical, entirely self-inflicted destruction of Tory Lanez’s. The fucker went to jail because he shot his girlfriend in the feet. He has a history of domestic violence/scary behavior towards women. People need to stop acting like this is in any way not his fault. He’s facing the consequences of his actions, and it’s no less than what he deserves.

Motherfucker. Yes, the U.S. prison system fucking sucks but there’s something that feels so disingenuous about the way reform is being discussed in relation to this particular case. It’s like people are using that as a way to say “oh how sad, he and Meg are both equally victims and now his life is going to be ruined.” Like…no. Facing consequences for victimizing somebody and being victimized are not morally equivalent things.

Also I hate it when people try to act faux-enlightened by ‘not taking sides’. HE SHOT HIS GIRLFRIEND. HE ADMITTED THAT HE’D DONE IT. HE HAS A HISTORY OF VIOLENT BEHAVIOR. If you’re not taking a side, you’re supporting the abuser. That’s what he wants you to do.
