I'm 25 and I work for an outdoor adventure company. We do everything from hiking trips, to backpacking, to rock climbing, to whitewater rafting. Our groups range from high school kids to bachelor parties to corporate outings. And we do trips all over the southeast US.
We started our spring trips last weekend, and we have a pretty new staff and one new manager. Long story short: he told me I wasn't allowed to hike in a sports bra. He said it was "inappropriate." Even though it was almost 80 degrees out. Even though that has always been fine. Even though I have led hikes with the owner of the company dressed like that.
So what should I do? Ignore him (he probably won't be on any of my trips this summer)? Talk to the owner? It bothered me, but I don't usually like to make a fuss.
I'd be interested in hearing people's honest opinions.
