Saddiq Bey
With Detroit- Dwane Casey
With Atlanta- Nate McMillan, Joe Prunty (Interim), Quin Snyder
Funny stat which I wonder if this has ever happened. Saddiq the real coach killer??
Since Saddiq Bey was traded on February 12th, 2023 the Pistons finished that season 2-23, with both wins coming against the Indiana Pacers. They have started 2-10 this season, with wins against the Hornets and Bulls.
Obviously this isn't about Saddiq but it's a wild stat nonetheless.
To preface this, I am not a pistons fan per se, but I have somewhat followed the team because I am a big time Cade believer. I know it was a while ago now, but I was honestly shocked when the prior GM traded away Saddiq Bey. Did you ever get closure on why this happened? Was there an actual reason or just incompetence? I ask because, with Bey becoming an unrestricted free agent this year, I initially began to hope that the Blazers would try to sign him - but I figured I'd get Piston fans opinion on him etc because I'm still a little confused about the whole situation.
Saddiq Bey tonight, taking the reins with no Cade Cunningham or Jerami Grant: 51 PTS (17-27 FG, 10-14 3FG, 7-10 FT), 10 REB, 4 AST, 3 STL
Saddiq showing out after a few cold games. It’s impossible not to be impressed with what this guy is doing now. Heck of a steal at #19
I gotta admit he was stat padding at the end but I don’t even care, the Magic knew it was coming and still couldn’t guard him. Love to see it, he was slumping earlier in the year and people thought he was unlikely to ever be a starter caliber player (including me). Good to see him ball out and show what the future of this team could look like.
Let’s goooooo

Saddiq Bey
Do yall realize how fucking awesome Saddiq is for this team?? As soon as we got the #1 pick, he facetimed Cade. When he heard Cade was in town, he flew back to Detroit to join him at the tigers game. These two players could be a PHENOMENAL duo in the league, and hes already building that foundation. Not to mention saddiq is playing on the olympic team, absorbing information from the world's best players.
I know we all love saddiq, but he's gotten overshadowed by the cade hype and lets not forget the guy who has already proved on and off the court that he has everything it takes to bring our winning culture back.
GO PISTONS BABY !!!
With the 19th pick in the draft, the Detroit Pistons select Saddiq Bey, a 6'8" forward from Villanova.
Detroit acquired this pick from Brooklyn in a three team trade:
