Whatever you believe in doesn't give you the right to refuse life altering medical treatments just because you're a "parent" whether biologically or legally. Especially for people without any medical background or medical knowledge in general.
I don't know why gaming has this stigma when there are lots of hobbies people do all day. If you tell someone, "I spent the weekend binging (relevant tv show)." No one bats an eye but that usually means they spent 7-8 hours a day watching TV. But if someone says they spent the weekend playing Zelda there is this "loser" stigma that goes along with it. So many people work 9-5, come home, and watch TV until they fall asleep. Why when replacing TV with video games is it "immature."
Now that being said. Everything is in moderation. TV, video games, or even something like reading can be a problem if it overtakes your life. If your social life is lacking and you are out of shape. If ALL you do is game then that is an issue. But also, if all you do is read or watch TV that is an issue as well. But best believe if I have been working all week and have a free Saturday(no social/errands/chores/workout plans) I am going to start playing Skyrim at 9 AM and I might not stop until 9 PM.
