Just tried out Arena for the first time this weekend and in 60% of the fights I hit the enemy plenty of times on my screen, but his death cam showed not a single hit. There is literally about half a second delay between the server and client it seems (and I only play good ping servers with ~30ms). Plus I guess many people use ping abuse and chose 150ms servers to get peekers advantage. All in all it was super frustrating and I wonder if they will ever be able to fix this, otherwise Arena will never be able to become a "competitive" fps imo.

Hi all! I play a fair amount of regular PVP tarkov but come and go on arena and I never really play consistently. I came back recently with the new map and the addition of a search and destroy mode, and I saw now that in addition to tier 1, tier 2 kits have been removed and everyone is just playing tier 3. I know the game has had balancing and progression issues but was wondering why they pulled all the other tiers - was it just that unbalanced that people couldn't progress, or because of the dispersion of players they can't fill lobbies? Has bsg themselves given a reason for it?

To be clear, not trying to shit on arena, I think it certainly needs work but it's far from the worst game ever. Just want to understand what's going on with it since I'm bad at keeping up with the news around it.

I know that the main idea behind this game was to create tarkov with some game modes rather than extracting but there isn't a single ARENA shooter with inertia that survived.

The reason the game died on arrival wasn't the preset system, game modes, maps or something else. The reason is inertia because the goal is to attract other FPS players, especially other ARENA shooter enjoyers where inertia is not a thing.

Most people will argue against this saying that tarkov is different and that I should go play COD but that's the thing, I already play COD and other arena shooters and the only reason I was playing the main tarkov game was to play labs and do some pvp but with the inertia change and the emphasis being the survival and the loot, I quit tarkov after the inertia update.

However, I was really optimistic about tarkov arena coming out thinking that they wouldn't release an arena shooter game with inertia but they really did and it died on arrival.

This game has really good potential with good game modes and gunplay but inertia doesn't belong. No other arena shooter enjoyers can just load up an arena game and continue playing because the movement feels terrible.

So I decided to come back to the game after not playing since launch, because of the release of the blastgang mode. I've played 2 games so far using the assault "Punisher" class and it's been awful. The class says the M4 in it uses m855a1, but I'm seeing in my death screen that I'm hitting people like 7 and 8 times, and they're not dying. In fact most of the time it's saying I'm doing about 200-250 dmg. In the base game, m855a1 is not this dogshit, even up against lvl 6 armor. Did they change ammo or something in arena that I didn't hear about? When hovering over it in game, it still says 44 pen and 49 flesh.

I understand Arena is based on Tarkov but if Arena wants to be a competitive/Esports game, it needs to be different from the main game. With all the changes I'm suggesting the game will still feel like Tarkov.

This game mode doesn't feel like a plant and defuse mode, it's just Deathmatch and you can plant a device as a side thing. If we can get the following things implemented there will be better teamplay. Playing this as a solo is just not great at all, even with a 5 man things are way to confusing.

  1. Let players make multiple kits they customized their selfs, the current tier system isn't it. (tiered customs classes)

  2. Med/health system needs to go. Make it one HP pool, maybe auto healing overtime, no broken/blacked limbs etc.

  3. Minimap is a must! adding a minimap so you can see where your teammates are and where the bomb device is, is needed.

  4. Make it easier to see on what team you are(minimap will mostly solve this).

  5. UI needs a different layout. currently other things/notifications pop on screen on the same side as the kill feed. This makes you think you sometimes killed a guy while you didn't, because another notification popped up.

  6. Round and planted device timers need to be permanently on screen.

I'm sure there are more things to think of, but these are my main points I think this game/game mode needs.
