Rebecca from Ted Lasso fits the bill pretty well on the more realistic end of that spectrum.

She isn't giant, but she's often the tallest person in a room full of men. She's depicted as powerful and intimidating but not particularly masculine.

My favorite part is when she's trying to help an insecure man build self-confidence, so she shows him how she stands in front of a mirror and makes herself huge and imposing then hisses like a wildcat.

[–]TBayChik420 163 points164 points  (1 child)

I swear, I would follow her and Keeley to taking over France ♥️

[–]keiwei66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d Follow them anywhere.

[–]Vanishingf0xResting Witch Face 61 points62 points  (0 children)

A great realistic character. The show has great examples of good people. Rebecca and Keeley are definitely great examples of this (though Keeley more confidence wise)

[–]SilkwormSidleRemand 17 points18 points  (1 child)

My favorite part is when she's trying to help an insecure man build self-confidence, so she shows him how she stands in front of a mirror and makes herself huge and imposing then hisses like a wildcat.

Here's a clip of that for the curious.

[–]Lola-Ugfuglio-Skumpy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The absolute awe on Keeley’s face gets me every time. Nate looks intimidated but Keeley is in full on jaw dropped admiration. Love it, love them.

[–]faith789 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YES. God I love that show.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I've never watched this show & had no idea who this woman was, but now I'm in love with her! I'm 6' myself.

[–]HauntedOryx 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm a couple of inches shorter than you are but the way she's depicted really moved me. She never made herself small nor was her size particularly addressed. Not even by casting extra tall dudes to stand beside her. They just let her exist. In heels. Ugh I love it so much. Do recommend.

[–]Shru4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Damn, I love this show (and Rebecca and Keeley!)

[–]opaul11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this woman!

Luisa from Encanto sings about her physical strength and how everyone assumes she's emotionally strong too.

[–]algonquinroundtableKitchen Witch ♀♂️☉⚨⚧ 178 points179 points  (1 child)

Every time she sings "and I glow cuz I know what my worth is" I shout "get it, Luisa!" My boys just think Mom is being silly haha.

[–]RaccoonRelay 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I cry Every time at Luisa’s song. I saw it in theaters with my tween the first time and humiliated them and their friend by sobbing lol

[–]MommaLokiLovesYou 46 points47 points  (0 children)

My MIL and I don't bond on much. We just like different things. However, Luisa's song Pressure is a song we just jam to whenever it comes on.

[–]khaleesi_spyro 40 points41 points  (2 children)

And this doubly fits OPs request because her relaxing daydream is also very unapologetically girly, she’s flying around on a unicorn (donkeycorn? unidonkey?) thru pink clouds

[–]bienfica 5 points6 points  (1 child)

(donkehcorn) (at least in our house)

[–]khaleesi_spyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds so much better than how I was pronouncing it in my head lol

[–]CraftsWithCats 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That’s one that came to mind for me too!

[–]RedVamp2020 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Luisa is awesome!

[–]soapymeatwater 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came here to add Luisa!

[–]Agreeable_Text_36 305 points306 points  (10 children)

Xena, warrior princess.

[–]FireFox181 102 points103 points  (5 children)

So, Lucy Lawless then? She's awesome, I concur.

[–]Yggdrasil- 41 points42 points  (1 child)

She was amazing as Diane (Ron Swanson’s wife) on Parks and Rec. I had no idea until later that it was the same actress!

[–]FireFox181 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is so cool. :)

[–]So_Desu_Ne 40 points41 points  (2 children)

I grew up with Xena and Hercules and she literally turned out the opposite of Kevin Sorbo

Course now the only one we hear anything about is Kevin.😑

[–]hazdog89 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I only hear about Kevin Sorbo when Lucy Lawless tweets at him

[–]notquitesolid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That’s because Lucy Lawless still acts, whereas Kevin has nothing better to do than run his mouth.

[–]42DaisyPusher 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The OG.

Well, if you're into cartoons, there's Steven Universe where some gems are absolute giants and unapologetically badass.

There are also tiny gems who are badass, though. Badassery comes in all sizes.

[–]EleventyElevens 251 points252 points  (3 children)

[–]Peregrinebullet 18 points19 points  (4 children)

Most of the female characters in Girl Genius.

Agatha Heterodyne (the main character) and her bestie Zeetha, Princess of Skifander (a warrior who got basically kidnapped from her home and is trying to find it) are both tall, buxom and hypercompetent badasses in their chosen skills. Agatha in MacGyver style engineering and Zeetha with swords.

There's at least one scene where Agatha gets knocked across a room and a male character tries to catch her and gets flattened. A third character asks why he is having trouble getting up after Agatha climbs off him and he wheezes "Well, she's...she's a big girl."

It's a long running comic series and a ton of fun to read. TBH, most of the female characters are pretty brawny/busty.

[–]caffeinated_dropbear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I freaking love Girl Genius! I think we should mention the queens too, since Albia usually presents as larger-than-life.

[–]Delicious-Light-4308[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Amazon's Wheel of Time is also very pro-fem. It's a world dominated by women due to men going insane and destroying the world previously.

[–]LadyEclipsiana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garnet!!! (I make art of it on insta, and I don't know if I can adv it.)

[–]noideawhattouse1 599 points600 points  (62 children)

she's also really pretty and confident in herself. she's a badass

[–]ktjtkt 74 points75 points  (1 child)

Right! How was this ignored?

[–]notquitesolid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it is, there’s a bunch of articles about it that has come out in the last 5 hours. As far as social media goes I can’t say as I’m not following her at all… but I will say it’s not uncommon for people to do mental gymnastics when someone does something problematic that doesn’t directly impact them.

[–]l1b3rtr1n 119 points120 points  (29 children)

I have a friend who loves doja cat but basically ignores the racist stuff she's been involved in. Not sure why.

[–]petitemandragore 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Read somewhere that she’s a "pizza cutter" - all edge and no point. Seems pretty accurate

[–]fishingboatproceeds 149 points150 points  (5 children)

Her haircut and the line "boo hoo my n**** I ain't sad you won't fuck me" helped inspired my buzzcut, then she went off the deep end approximately three seconds later. Ah well, still loving my hair 😅

[–]Ankylosaurii 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes. Came here to say this. Doja should not be trusted. (Admired, liked, listened to, made relevant; she’s not a symbol of fem strength.)

[–]FireFox181 26 points27 points  (9 children)

Shit, what is she smoking to think that this is okay?

[–]step_on_me_mommy_vi 62 points63 points  (8 children)

Pretty sure it's racism, not something she's smoking.

[–]pepitawu 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Unless she’s smoking racism

[–]FireFox181 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Indeed, I imagine you're right. This just saddens me, one would think she'd know better than to nuke her career like this.

[–]adamantsilk 18 points19 points  (3 children)

[–]FireFox181 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Indeed, which is scary, we don't need another Kanye West.

Bobbie from the TV show the Expanse (the book series starts with Leviathan Wakes if you're more interested in that) pretty much fits this. She's a big woman in muscle and height, and written as attractive and is good-looking in the show.

She's military though, so is generally in some sort of uniform and doesn't really flaunt her sexuality, but she's super confident in who she is and knows she's attractive.

[–]Sir_Poofs_Alot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Came here to say, we all need more Bobbie “Gunny” “fucking Valkyrie” Draper in our lives

[–]iago303 34 points35 points  (4 children)

But even if you watch the TV show, it's full of women who fight for what they love (The Expanse) and also I love the fact that it's full of representation, people of all ages colors and builds and Bobbie is a badass but there are a lot more than her

[–]thathotmom24 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yeah definitely agree, I was just specifically thinking on the big woman part of the original post lol

[–]iago303 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are several "big women"but my favorite believe or not is the crone of the UN in both the books and the TV series she was played by a badass woman, you want to see some more women? Check out Black Panther Ryan Cougler formatted his cast with a rich badassery of powerful black women and Wakanda Forever is even more so

[–]whenthefirescame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I keep a picture of Bobbie next to my weight rack! She is goals for me.

[–]cosmicdogdust 76 points77 points  (1 child)

Does Miss Piggy count? I don’t think she’s the biggest muppet but she’s bigger than a lot of them, and she is certainly femme, and definitely unafraid to use physical force 😅

[–]PiercedGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you count ego, she's most definitely the biggest on the show

[–]ktjtkt 72 points73 points  (7 children)

Sara Conner - Terminator

Michonne - Walking Dead

Luisa - Encanto

The bride - Kill Bill

She Hulk - she hulk lol

Everybody in the black panther movies.

Ygritte - Game of thrones

Yara Greyjoy - game of thrones

Everybody in “the woman king”

[–]Tata_Popo 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Coming for this, here are the lyrics:

Hey I'm one big queen/ No one can stop me/ Red light, red green/ Sat back, I'm watchin'/ I'm number one/ Second to no one/ No sweat I'm clean/ Nothin' can touch me/

I'll tell you my name/ F-U-C-K/ Fifty foot queenie/ Force ten hurricane/ Biggest woman/ I could have ten sons/ Ten Gods/ Ten queens/ Ten foot and risin'/

Hey I'm the king of the world/ You ought to hear my song/ Ah come on measure me/ I'm twenty inches long/

Glory glory/ Lay it all on me/ Fifty foot Queenie/ Fifty and rising/ You can bend over/ Cassanova/ No sweat I'm clean/ Nothing can stop me/

Hey I'm the king of the world/ You better to hear my song/ You come on measure me/ I'm twenty inches long/

Hey I'm king of the world/ You ought to hear my song/ You come on measure me/ I'm thirty inches long/

Hey I'm king of the world/ You ought to hear my song/ You come on measure me/ I'm forty inches long/

Hey I'm king of the world/ You ought to hear my song/ You come on measure me/ I'm fifty inches long

So my first thought since you mentioned a song was "Giant" by Melissa Etheridge - which I fucking love - the beginning of the chorus goes like this:

" I am a giant

I don’t know if you like dungeons and dragons, but if so there’s a show called Dimension 20 that has a campaign called Dungeons and Drag Queens. All the characters are women and one of them is a giant ogre princess :)

[–]KindlyKangaroo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also, Yasha from Critical Role campaign 2

[–]Elvira_Mc_Flutterbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gwendolyn Christie, the actress who plays Brienne on the awful dragon show still fits the bill. Off the top of my head I recall her being in Hunger Games, Star Wars and Wednesday. She is stylish as heck and rocks full glam on red carpet events. I don't follow her specifically, so I can't speak in depth about her.

[–]Environmental_Long32 70 points71 points  (1 child)

I also loved that she played Lucifer Morningstar in The Sandman…perfection.

She also submitted herself for Emmy consideration after GoT producers left her off the list, and beat all the other actresses the studio backed. Iconic.

I know Twilight is a problematic ass mess, but Siobhan of the Denali clan, she was described as a large, curvy, ultra femme giant of a woman. I don’t think Stephanie Meyer knew what to do with her, but I love the idea of a giant super sexy powerful vampire lady who makes even ultra prude Eddie excited

[–]ThatBitchMalin 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Sarah Connor. Though she didn't start out that way. Also, Ellen Ripley. Similar situation.

[–]im_lost37 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Susan by the end of Monsters Vs Aliens completely owned her size and awesomeness lol

[–]FireFox181 20 points21 points  (2 children)

When WWE superstar Chyna / Joanie Laurer was alive? She ended up fitting the bill for many. She was incredibly strong, actually kicking the asses of men she fought against in the ring. Actually becoming the first woman to secure the WWE Intercontinental Championship belt.

She also looked good too, managing to straddle the line between powerful and feminine at the same time. She was also groundbreaking, a true pioneer when it came to women's wrestling. Truly someone I respect. Shame she died though, her demons unfortunately won. Requiescat in Pace.

As for Doja Cat? I like some of her songs and I respect her for incorporating all sorts of genres in her music, including heavy metal. Seriously, she did a live performance of a heavy metal rendition of "Say So", a song I already liked because of how catchy it is.

However, she is under serious fire for wearing a shirt with a racist comedian on it. One simply can't ignore that, hopefully someone explains why this was a thing and soon. What was she thinking? Why would she become a lightning rod like that?

[–]irishtrashpanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Beth Phoenix is another giant powerful wrestler with a feminine slant. Rhea Riley is more masc presenting/alt but wow

[–]GiftsFromLeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doja Cat is not a giant in any fashion.

[–]Delicious-Light-4308[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re so right. She’s only mentioned bc it was a line from her song. She does not fit the vibe. And even if she did, an unspoken stipulation was that the large girl boss should be neither a predator apologist or a neo nazi.

[–]FoxyBabycakesResting Witch Face 14 points15 points  (0 children)

She-Hulk!

[–]AnarchoBratzdoll 131 points132 points  (5 children)

I don't know if we should really be putting the person wearing shirts with neo nazis on them and dating an abuser on a pedestal. But okay.

[–]Delicious-Light-4308[S] 21 points22 points  (4 children)

I just wanted to have a conversation about the strange impact those lyrics had on me.

I don’t follow her socials, I’ve never spent a dime of my money on her, and nothing in this post put her “on a pedestal.” I happened to hear some of her new songs during my commute to work.

For all it’s worth, I agree that she’s done some problematic shit lately. And not in a Satanic panic way but in a valid, “this could actually harm real people” way.

I don’t think she should be propped up or funded but I do think that problematic artists can produce decent art and if you can find ways to admire that art without directly supporting that person, that’s not necessarily a bad thing so long as you’re mindful of the impact you’re having on others.

That being said, I wasn’t mindful of my impact when I originally posted this. I should’ve added a disclaimer. Thank you for pointing this out.

[–]AnarchoBratzdoll 71 points72 points  (1 child)

Openly admiring said art will always directly support the artist though. Even if it's just getting 1 person to listen to her, I don't think Doja is the one we should or need look at right now to find female empowerment.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

[–]MewgDewgSpell of trans my gender ♀♂️☉⚧ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

but I do think that problematic artists can produce decent art

The problem is her actions are contradicting the art she's putting out, before and after. The art is just an aesthetic to make money i.e. grifting

[–]Affectionate_Ice_622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re looking for the same flavor in a person who’s not as awful as Doja Cat. I can respect that.

[–]sac-nutmeg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The actresses Kristen Johnson and Allison Janney are both about 6 feet tall. I've been watching Mom reruns and they're both unapologetically giant and feminine. And funny.

[–]PeaDifficult9058 13 points14 points  (1 child)

My first thought was Grace Jones. Powerhouse

[–]LimitlessMegan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Furiosa from Mad Max is my first thought.

Captain Marvel and Photon are two of the most powerful beings in the universe, both women.

[–]kelenach 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Drolta from Castlevania Nocturne fits the bill perfectly. Large, powerful, and very (sexy) femenine. I totally imagine her listening to that song lol.

She's evil af though, but still a very cool villain.

<image>

[–]nyx_moonlight_ 27 points28 points  (1 child)

Doja is a patriarchal bootlicker. The fans she's been attacking for calling out her problematic boyfriend have been women and girls, by the way.

She has no problem defending white supremacist men but won't say she loves her fans and supporters (mostly women).

I hope you find more genuine sources of empowerment. Long live giantess and actual majestic, inspiring women. Particularly Megan Thee Stallion who is a way better role model, rapper and lyricist.

[–]jibbles1024 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Cool story. Heard she’s into Nazis.

[–]SimplyRachel13Forest Witch ♀♂️☉⚨⚧ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First thing that came to my mind was Ursula from the Little Mermaid but not sure that’s what we’re going for here. 🤣 great question tho and I’m about to read through everything. :)

[–]Ravenkelly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watch Queen Latifa in The Equalizer. She's not a tall woman but she IS a badass. And so is her tiny Asian (I think Korean but I'm not certain) partner.

[–]Kit-KatLasagna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wore boots to a bar last night and was taller than most of the guys and just about the same height as a few others (one of them who was hitting on me the day before) and that one started ignoring me. I think he was intimidated by my height. I think guys don’t like me squaring up to them like that and I enjoy it.

[–]butterflifields 6 points7 points  (3 children)

She hulk has a scene addressing how she wants to dress feminine and still be functional in a fight.

Keladry of midlun is the main character in the protector of the small quartet by Tamora Peirce and she's described as taller than average girls and more muscular than some of the boys in her knight training class.

[–]velcrovelociraptor 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I scrolled so far for this! I’d recommend any of the Tamora Pierce books actually. Not all physically tall but all are powerful women for sure.

Edit to add - Kel actually becomes known as Protector of the Small, so very fitting

[–]kindrex89Literary Witch ♀ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

As soon as I read OP’s post I thought of Kel! The Protector of the Small series was one of my absolute favorites as a teen. You’re right that all of Pierce’s leading ladies are badass, though.

[–]TheRestForTheWicked 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why we just looking at characters? Sigourney Weaver is 6 foot, Blake Lively is tall (idk her exact height), Michelle Obama is supermodel height, as is Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka. Elizabeth Debiki (who played Diana in The Crown) is 6’3 and the real Diana was 5’11. Charlize Theron is 5’11 and absolutely stunning. Jennifer Coolidge is 5’10.

And my personal favourite, because I’ve met her a few times through work and she’s an absolute Angel, Tricia Helfer is unapologetically 5’10.5 and owns it in everything she does.

I have a book rec! His Secret Illuminations by Scarlett Gale has a female warrior named Glory (also known as She Wolf). She is large and strong and awesome! The male character is a monk who is small and nervous (he has suffered religious abuse) and thinks Glory is just the best thing ever. It’s an adventure story and romance.

[–]robotgunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, I just read this!

[–]bear__attack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just finished The Adventures of Amina Al-Serafi, and the main character fits this perfectly! I think she literally describes herself as a giant, and frequently references her height and size, which is second only to her legendary reputation. It’s such an amazing story of women’s empowerment, can’t recommend it enough.

[–]Otherwise_Carob_4057 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s the legandary German Amazon queen Brunhilde after being tricked by Siegfried into thinking he was the king and besting her in combat she literally grabbed her newly married king and hung him by his belt on the wall the night of their wedding.

[–]bunkerlabs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She hulk attorney at law?

[–]SIacktivist 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3!

[–]Elvira_Mc_Flutterbat 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Tilda Swinton in basically anything.

She is larger than life in Constantine, Dr. Strange, Only Lovers Left Alive...

[–]DPVaughan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And one-shots the Hulk in Endgame.

[–]renperez87 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Doja is a trash human being. Yes this lyric may have resonated but we aren’t going to look past all of the vile shit she does just for one moment. I’m so glad that so many other wonderful examples of big energy were referenced. Motion to ban her from mention in this sub. Her incel pandering is very anti witch.

[–]witch_of_the_weasel 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I'm not too familiar with the 'vile shit' - what has she done?

[–]renperez87 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Google her name and controversy. Cliff notes. - neo nazi, racism, incel…

[–]witch_of_the_weasel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

well shit. I'll have to look into it

[–]IUseTabascoForLube 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A Practical Guide to Evil. It’s an awesome web serial with a badass female lead, and amazing representation of absolutely anything you could think of. There are also giant women.

[–]kminola 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Little Simz refers to herself as a “king” more than once in her raps and it always makes me so happy.

[–]Randa707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my niece was very young, like 3ish, in response to all the little girl focused princess media she started saying that she wanted to be King when she grew up (not A king, just King).

One time my mom asked her if she meant queen.

Without missing a beat my niece says, "NO, grandma. I want to be KING because NO ONE tells a king what to do."

My mom, in her typical fashion, said, "Oh honey, only men can be kings."

My niece looked her straight in the eyes and said, "Watch me."

It was 20 years ago and I still remind myself of this when I'm having a rough day.

[–]bedtyme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too bad she’s a Nazi lover

[–]vikkimoo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Elizabeth Debicki is my tall woman inspo - I’m 6 foot so a bit shorter than her but she’s just so fabulous!

[–]TheRestForTheWicked 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Princess Diana (who she played in The Crown) was also unapologetically tall at 5’11 and often spoke about how her height impacted her life. I’m so glad they kept her height in tact when casting for that role instead of picking an actor that was significantly shorter than her.

[–]betsimus_Prime_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just binge watched the The Walking Dead and there are a lot of great women characters in the show who are socially and physically powerful- Danai Guirira and Melissa Mcbride's characters are especially awesome.

[–]ShaySketches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re a reader I have a couple of books with giant badass women! Kissen from Godkiller is a massive, bi gruff, tough one legged red head who literally kills gods for a living (she’s basically the coolest) and Clara in Paladin’s Strength is an unapologetically huge tough but sweet nun on a quest to find her kidnapped sisters. That one’s fantasy romance and it’s cute that one of the things her paladin finds really attractive is her size!

[–]halinora24 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Urbosa from Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild yet?

In addition, not a character but a real life person, your description made me think of Nikki Tutorials immediately. I think she fits the bill of feminine, attractive and giant perfectly (I believe she's 1m90)

[–]amy000206 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Xena? Wasn't she in wrestling before

[–]ErwinAckermanKitchen Witch ♀♂️☉⚨⚧ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doja Cat is a nazi.

[–]slim-shaedy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm hesitant to let Doja be the leading example of this fem representation in the media. Especially after the recent controversy of her wearing a t-shirt with a neo-schmazi on it...plenty of women in music have been writing lyrics about these things for a long time.

But as far as characters go, Steven Universe has plenty of characters that fit the bill. I think post-joker Harley Quinn embodies these ideals (even if she doesn't outright say "I am the giant"). Daenerys Targaryen fits the bill. Rhaenyra Targaryen does as well.

[–]NixSiren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohh, I always have told people, mainly my friends, that "I'm the biggest", it's always been tongue in cheek because I'm not very big at all, but when I want to, I move mountains. My friends would laugh but only lightly because although I'm small, I get it done, whatever it is that I'm pursuing.

[–]phantomixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of woman characters (Garnet, Rose and etc) in Steven Universe are giant. Heck there is an episode when Steven wants to see a giant woman! It’s framed as a positive thing too!

[–]readwaaat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valkyries, amazons. Not so much women who referred to themselves as large, they just were. A recent addition for kids of all ages - Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.

Oh to be a kraken.

[–]BoozyGherkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zarya from Overwatch? Ellie from Borderlands? Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil? She-Hulk?

Way too few characters that fit this category.

[–]velvejabbress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently started playing D&D again, and my character is a Goliath Paladin. Basically, an 8ft tall, extremely muscular woman who likes to hit things with a warhammer for holy reasons. It's so liberating to play!!

[–]JackRiverArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luisa from Encanto

[–]Locked_in_a_room 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lagertha from Vikings

[–]XanaxWarriorPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sailor Jupiter in Sailor Moon is larger than most girls and prone to fighting, but she's also boy crazy and loves to cook and clean.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doja Cat made fun of a rape and abuse victim's forced testimony online.

Wouldn't purchase her shit if I was paid to. Embarrassment to women everywhere.

I wouldn't look up to someone who's constantly trying to rizz neo-nazi incels.

VICTRA AU JULIII

Bougie bitch, fucking killer, absolute terror in the boardroom or battlefield. Over 6 ft, strong and dangerous, gorgeous and unabashed, confident and loyal, devious and stubborn. I love her so much it hurts.

Please please PLEASE, anyone, everyone, go read Red Rising. I wish I could read the series again for the first time, it's some of the best sci-fi I've seen in a long time and it has so many powerful women, good and bad, and despite being written by a man there are multiple points where the women are the powerhouses and leaders that they need to and can be. It's amazing and the first book doesn't prepare you remotely for the rest of the series.

Uh.. Gwendolyn Christie as Lucifer and also in Wednesday. And there was a national live theatre performance where she was Titania in a Midsummer's Night's Dream.

[–]Dawn-Nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Missy Elliot

[–]TreysToothbrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spice Girls were fucking giants. Girl Power world domination 100%. Thanks for the nice memories. And the new music suggestion. Rock on babe!

[–]caffeinated_dropbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honey Lemon in Big Hero 6, I just rewatched this the other day with my kid and I had forgotten how much I liked her character. She’s a 6’ girl who wears heels anyway, kind, sympathetic, and also a kickass genius and superhero.

[–]flipflop_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three women come to mind: (1) Xena, warrior princess (2) Wonder Woman, she is an Amazonian (3) Avatar Kyoshi, from avatar the last airbender

[–]swibbles_mcnibbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kassandra from assasins creed odyssey ❤️ she's physically strong, muscular, takes on and wrecks even the biggest of men, even mythical creatures. Captains a ship, yells orders, She fucks who she wants, and has a wicked sense of humour. She's kind and she cares about others, but she doesn't need them, she can survive and thrive on her own.

You can tell she was a great lead for the game as it set the neckbeards into a tailspin when it was released.

[–]Beerasaurwithwine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gina Torres in Firefly. I adore her character Zoe as a strong defiant Amazonian warrior woman, and Alan Tudyk as her mild and passive husband.

[–]girlneedsspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queen Maeve! I haven't read any reference to her physical size but she's often referred to as the warrior queen. She is one of the most powerful people in ireland during her time and literally starts a war with her husband about which of them owns a bull. She takes many lovers and uses her feminine powers to seduce men and gain political power. When I think of a woman that defies modern expectations of women I think of her. She is always the woman that is described in female rap lyrics!

Careful, there's an entire sexual fetish (Giantess) revolving around this very concept ;)
