Considering how cheap analog cameras and lenses, I am wondering how much most of you guys spent on camera and lenses? For example, if you only spent in total $1,000 that’s mean you just spend for basic stuff in digital context.

Hi! This year im going to visit Lapland, I expect negative temperature (probably at least -20Celsius), is it okay to think about bringing my camera with me? I guess I can go outside with it like 5-10min but what about hours ? I don’t know if it will change something but it’s a Minolta xg1

Apart from the cost, what other factors did you have when choosing your first camera?
I'm not looking for a specific recommendation but rather trying to understand the decision/thought process behind the choice?
P.S: If this post feels like another beginners recommendation - please remove it.
Edit - I appreciate each and every one of you all for replying to my post. I was not expecting so many replies. It definitely helps with understanding what one should look for when buying a camera (first or not). I do have an idea of what I want to shoot and make it my style.
