Alolan Geodude

Back by popular demand! It seems people really enjoyed one thread to collect all their Community Day feedback in, so here is another!

Just to jog your memory, this Community Day featured:

• Alolan Geodude, which can be evolved into Alolan Graveler, which can be evolved into Alolan Golem knowing the Fast Attack Rollout.

• 3× Catch Stardust

• 2× Catch Candy

• 2× chance to receive Alolan Geodude XL Candy from catching Alolan Geodude

• Incense activated during the event lasted for three hours

• Lure Modules activated during the event lasted for three hours

• Alolan Geodude photo-bombs when taking pictures of your buddy during Community Day

• 1 extra special trade could be made during the event and two hours after the event (maximum of 2 for the day)

• Trades made during the event and two hours after the event required 50% less Stardust.

• Group Play Bonuses: Work together with other trainers to unlock additional bonuses in that location!

  • If enough Pokémon were caught by trainers from a single Lure, the 3× Stardust bonus for catching Pokémon near the Lured PokéStop was increased to 4× XP for 30 minutes

• The Community Day Special Research Story: A Rocky Road was available to purchase from the in game store for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency)

  • This ticket was able to be gifted to friends on your friend list for the first time via the in-game store

• Event themed stickers which you could get by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop

• Event Bundles

  • A special one-time-purchase Community Day Box was available for 975 PokéCoins, featuring one Super Incubator, one Lucky Egg, one Elite Fast TM, and one Star Piece

  • A bundle containing 30 Ultra Balls was available in the shop at no cost during the event

Please keep in mind to follow our rules when giving feedback and be respectful as well as stay objective and factual.

Your feedback has a much higher chance to be heard and read when you are not constantly attacking the people you are trying to give feedback to.

To the surprise of some, our rule 1 also applies to statements made towards Niantic and you will be banned for not following it.

Lastly, but not least, it is okay to enjoy playing this game. There will probably be people posting in here who actually enjoyed playing this event, or at least enjoyed playing parts of this event. Do not attack them. They are not shills because of it. They are entitled to their opinion, as are all the people who did not enjoy playing this event for various reasons. All sides are worthy to be heard! Just because you don't agree with a particular point of view, doesn't mean they are wrong or that you are wrong. Remember the human behind the screen!

Please keep all feedback inside this thread, as we won't be allowing stand-alone feedback threads for this event at this time. Additionally, please refrain from giving feedback until after the event has ended in your timezone and you actually got to experience the event! This thread is meant to collect your feedback and experiences with the event directly.

Everyone is so eager predicting ralts, or trapinch, but it is WAY too soon for them to give gen 3 handouts yet. There are plenty of less exciting Pokemon Niantic could pick for the next community days to ensure they can keep us busy for a while. Personally, I think alolan geodude will have a community day in the near future. Or imagine a Machamp with a new move like focus punch.

I live in a standard/residential biome and the only way to find Geodude is to pray for sunny/partly cloudy weather. However it’s been a couple of months that all the Geodude that I encounter are Alolan form and the regular one has disappeared. That’s kind of a bummer since, you know, the regular one can be shiny...

As someone who wasn't able to play for very long on the weekend, are they still available?

EDIT UPDATE: Wasn't possible when the question was asked, they have started appearing in Alolan eggs.

I have decided to start a series that I hope I can continue permanently which involves transferring shiny community day Pokemon to Home with custom OT and giving them to 5 lucky winners. You can be the proud owner of your very own shiny geodude with OT of your own choice and ID:369905

This months pokemon is geodude from Alola. The rules are simple -

I have currently limited it to 5 winners as that is the weekly limit to shift from Pokemon Go. I may increase it in the future based on the general interest in this.

Question What happened to the regular geodudes? I havent seen one in months. Also havent seen any geodude nests reported on silph, but that could just be less are being reported. Chicago Suburbs here. Post recent catches if im wrong, but all i see are alolan in the wild

After catching my first alolan geodude it immediately turned into a sentret and when I appraised it, it had perfect IVs. My brother then caught the same geodude but it remained a geodude and also has perfect IVs. Not sure if this is a known bug or not
