I put a post up on the sub about visiting Bailey's for Hawaiian shirts and several people corrected me that the term is accepted as "aloha shirts"
Not trying to be a dick, want to understand the cultural background as someone from a different culture. An "explain it like I am your 5 year old nephew visiting from Australia" would be appreciated.
Thank you everyone, not only for your explanation, but for your kindness and hospitality. We will be back in a few years with more time to spend and hopefully be able to learn more about the Hawaiian culture and history before colonization.
