All Points East

First time seeing the band tonight and sadly not a very positive one.

From the first note the sound was far too quiet - lots of issues with the guitars and, most critically, Julian’s microphone - I couldn’t make out a single word when he was talking to the audience between songs.

The crowd were also dreadful: at least half of the people around me were making no effort to engage (which in fairness wasn’t help by the shocking sound) with anything except the five or six most well-known songs.

At least Last Nite etc. were great because the crowd were actually doing what they paid a hundred-odd quid to do.

Anyone else let down tonight? Or had a more positive experience with the sound?

The Strokes are performing at the All Points East Festival, taking place August 18-28, 2023 at Victoria Park, London, England. The Strokes are headliners on Friday, August 25, 2023, with a set scheduled on the East Stage.

The Strokes' set is anticipated to begin at 9:25pm local time and go until 10:55pm local time.

Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster! I've loved The Strokes since Room on Fire, but will be seeing them live for the first time today at All Points East. Been to APE a bunch of times before so I know the deal there, but what's the general consensus on The Strokes' live show? I've read/heard conflicting things.

anybody going to the london festival that they are headlining? my friends refused to get tickets

Haven’t seen a post on here about all points east so thought I’d share. Honestly such a vibe. The crowd was absolutely amazing didn’t come across any bad eggs all day. After the previous days reviews of the strokes and the historically poor sound I tried to get pretty close to the front and experienced no issues what so ever. Such a tight band non stop boogie loved every minute of it and could’ve carried on all night.

Big shout out to everyone else that went was such a brilliant show.

Saw The National yesterday at all points east! Was my first time seeing them - anyone have any comments/thoughts about the set and how it compares to their other sets?

I’m interested in going to this festival because I want to see Disclosure but i don’t want to go alone. Who else has tickets for this day and wants to go together?

Ok, so I’ve never seen black midi live before but I think I just had the night of my life. I just wanna thank everyone who was there that may see this for treating everyone, including me, with respect! I think I made friends with just about everyone in the crowd temporarily for 5 seconds whilst moshing. And to that one kid who participated in grabbing and screaming at each other during the set, you’re a bloody legend!
