Today the Hollywood Reporter announced that Alfred Molina has been cast as Doctor Octopus in the upcoming third MCU Spider-man film. .
This is following news that Jaimie Foxx would be returning to the role of Electro in the same film. Foxx even released art depicting 3 Spider-men facing off against him on his which he quickly removed ten minutes later.
It's all but confirmed that a live action Spider-verse is in the works. What does this mean for our glorious Tobey Maguire? What does it mean for Raimi's incarnation of the webbed warrior? Does Sam Raimi's involvement in Doctor Strange's Multiverse of Madness mean anything? So many questions!

December 8th Edit: There are also circulating that Kirsten Dunst is returning as Mary Jane and Emma Stone is in talks to return as Gwen Stacy (supposedly a living version), pregnancy permitting.
December 8th Edit 2: For everyone linking the IGN article, I won't add it here because its only source is the Collider article I've already linked in the first edit, and if you read the , it sounds like it's pure conjecture. There's no mention of any source for the info at all. The original article at least said "sources tell us" Alfred Molina is returning. Grain of salt, guys.
I should mention that neither Marvel nor Sony have made any official announcements about this, but if everyone else is freaking out about these reports then we might as well too.
December 9th edit: Rumours are now circulating that Charlie Cox (Daredevil) will be Unconfirmed and totally baseless rumours, but they're relevant to this discussion.
December 10th: this morning. Wardrobe Workroom is a Film wardrobe warehouse. "Costume" if you will, but it could also mean a pair of pants and a Hawaiian shirt for a character, if that's what their "costume" demanded. There is no concrete connection to the third MCU Spidey film.
