Alexandre Desplat
I am curious to know how this sub ranks Alexandre Desplat amongst his contemporaries.
I personally rate him very highly and I enjoy listening to his scores which are as charming as they get. He has had some heavy tracks with the last two instalments of the Harry Potter franchises with a flavour of dark music.
I find him versatile enough but it is his softer scores that seal the deal for me.
My personal favourite works of Desplat; The Imitation Game, Little women, Shape of water, Grand Budapest Hotel, Harry Potter and the deathly hallows 1 and 2 and Fantastic Mr Fox.

The new Black Widow's footage just confirmed that 11 times Oscar nominee and 2 times Oscar winner Alexandre Desplat is doing the score. Also, confirmed that Eric Pearson ("Thor: Ragnarok") written the screenplay. Weirdly, seems there is no DP attached to the movie. Rob Hardy ("Ex Machina") was attached, but then Gabriel Beristain was attached and now there is nothing on IMDb and and neither on the credits' footage.

Holy crap this score was phenomenal. I saw the movie when it came out but didn't appreciate it then, the music is woven into the story in a brilliant way. It was exciting and fun and perfect for the tone of the film (which was equally amazing)! It was as if the score was a part of the weird world itself. Highly recommend for anyone who hasn't seen it or saw it a while ago like me.

I can easily see Alexandre Desplat getting his twelfth Oscar nominations for this film, possibly thirteenth if his song he wrote with Guillermo is well received. Honestly the two are a perfect collaboration team(up there with Tim Burton and Danny Elfman when they team to make film music)
