Adelaide Airport

Hi all,

I'm a Perthian who's trying to get a flight to NZ just before Xmas. Obviously I've left it pretty late so most flights will require me to sell a kidney. However, I've seen one potential out via your beautiful city which just requires me to set up shop overnight.

I don't really want to go through the rigmarole of staying outside the airport if I can help it, so I thought I'd ask you great folk about the airport. What are my chances of getting booted out if I just stay in a quiet corner for the night?

I know I'm not going to have a great sleep, but would rather have a roof over my head then sleep outside. Cheers guys

EDIT - Cheers for the replies. Ended up booking Perth to Auckland with two stops but somehow ended up being $500 cheaper than other options. Thanks Adelaide I hope to see you one day still.

Ridiculous line at Adelaide airport at 5am

Had a 6am flight interstate today and got to the airport at 5am. The entire area in front of the screening lanes was packed and the line extended from there to the other end of the qantas area of the terminal. Took 35 minutes to go through scanners and got to my gate just as they started boarding.

Not sure if this is what life looks like on Wednesday morning in the apocalypse or whether something unusual is happening. Plenty of people checking in for international travel.

Adelaide Airport Chaps

If anyone is flying out this morning, just a heads up, Adelaide airport is chaos. It’s taken 30 minutes of snaking through the security line just to get to the normal security ‘snake’ line and that was arriving at 5.30am this morning.

Recommend leaving heaps of time if you are flying out today.

Edit : I estimate at least an hour just to get through security.

Positive experience travelling with MC through Adelaide airport

Thought I’d share for any fellow MC friends travelling domestic through Adelaide airport. It was incredibly easy. I decided to let the security officer know that I had MC in my bag as I approached the scanners as I would rather be upfront. Bloke said no problems, asked if I was travelling overseas or domestic. I said domestic. My bag went through and I continued on with my morning. I had 5 scripts, a Pax 3 and a grinder. Piece of cake 😁 Hope this helps and that others have a similar experience!

Statement from Dr Mohammed Moosajee on Adelaide Airport incident

Wasn't sure if people liked facebook links, but this is from the Cricket South Africa Facebook page.

Cricket South Africa·Monday, 21 November 2016 The Australian media and Channel 9 News in particular have been advised on numerous occasions over the past few days that Cricket South Africa and captain, Faf du Plessis, are not in a position to comment on the alleged ball tampering issue.

However, despite our best to intentions to co-operate with the Australian media, Channel 9 News’ behaviour has been disappointing. We have advised of our media protocol which has been blatantly ignored, both at the team’s hotel in Melbourne on Friday and Saturday and again at the airport in Adelaide today.

This is the third incident of a reporter aggressively harassing our players with blatant disrespect of the above-mentioned media protocol.

The ‘reporter’ at the airport disrespected us and continued to harass Faf for comment. The ‘reporter’ was also in the unusual position of being in the middle of the players’ walkway to the bus. He was advised to move three times, and did not adhere to this request. The ‘reporter’, who also had no official accreditation, then proceeded to lunge towards Faf with an unknown object causing a direct breach of security protocol. The reporter also shoved the team manager in the back.

Throughout the tour we have respected all our media obligations and treated media with the utmost respect. At the same time, we would like to see this respect reciprocated and will not accept such behaviour as displayed by the Channel 9 News reporter.
