I'm looking for a comedy where if you weren't paying attention to the dialogue, you would swear you were watching a drama. There's something special about characters doing something completely absurd with a straight face as if nothing was wrong, not even hinting at the fact that they're being funny.

I thought that some scenes in Animal House and Blues Brothers were similarly well executed.

I know that the directors of Police Squad made a number of similar movies like The Naked Gun or Top Secret, and while I loved those, they still had a goofier vibe to the writing and delivery. I suppose I'm looking for something that pretends to be a lot more serious.

Following the discussion on parodies on this week's podcast, let me present you A Touch of Cloth, a TV Cop Show parody written by Black Mirror's Creator Charlie Brooker.

The official subreddit of that youtube channel, CinemaSins. Because everyone needs a place to talk about how lap dances aren't in that scene of that movie.
