If you get chance to see this show, you should take it.
It’s a spoof of British crime procedural shows like Silent Witness etc but with a machine gun firing of jokes and visual gags.
It’s also written by Charlie Brooker of Black Mirror fame

What a little gem, a quirky satire of every crime drama under the sun. Well worth a watch or two.
Policeman dies, policeman rejoins force. You know what happens next. Hilarious throughout,

I'm looking for a comedy where if you weren't paying attention to the dialogue, you would swear you were watching a drama. There's something special about characters doing something completely absurd with a straight face as if nothing was wrong, not even hinting at the fact that they're being funny.
I thought that some scenes in Animal House and Blues Brothers were similarly well executed.
I know that the directors of Police Squad made a number of similar movies like The Naked Gun or Top Secret, and while I loved those, they still had a goofier vibe to the writing and delivery. I suppose I'm looking for something that pretends to be a lot more serious.
