This might be the dumbest post ever, but is A Charlie Brown Christmas by Vince Guaraldi Trio somehow underrated?

This sounds nuts as it’s one of the best selling jazz albums ever and is pretty beloved by most people. But listening to it tonight, I am realizing that this is genuinely seminal work, on the level of a Kind of Blue or Time Out as the most influential jazz albums ever. The entire record is essentially new American standards, the entire way through (until the last two or three). It’s instantly recognizable yet contains a soft signature style. It just succeeds in every possible way and is so important to the music of an entire holiday.

Downvote me, lampoon me, or crosspost this to r/circlejerk if this is off base, especially if it’s completely common knowledge or a super cold take but this is my take.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

I am going to tread lightly on this sub bc the rules are extensive, and I don’t want to break one. I came to say that A Charlie Brown Christmas will be on, tonight (Dec 13), for most of the USA. It will come on PBS, 6:30p CST. Just a family holiday classic that I thought ppl would enjoy watching. Check your local listing to see if it will be broadcast in your area. The PBS website gives more information on viewing.

Keeping it short. Enjoy.

A Charlie Brown Christmas?

I keep seeing advertising articles saying that Apple TV is offering A Charlie Brown Christmas free to watch (for all) between December 22nd and the 25th, but when I log in to the app, I can see the movie, but I cannot watch it unless I subscribe, or it gives me the choice to add it to "up next"? I checked the free to all section and I see several television episodes, but nothing about Charlie Brown. Does anyone here know how to access it without a subscription?

TIL that "A Charlie Brown Christmas" (1965) was rejected at first by CBS: they didn't like that amateur children were doing the voices, they didn't like the "anti-consumerism" theme of the plot -- and they didn't like the music.
