This topic is not valid any longer, it has been discovered that it’s a ED issue and also pertains to the F/A-18 when not in full AB. The Skyhawk is fine, it’s a ED problem. Thanks you to the developers for looking into this and troubleshooting the issue. YOU ROCK!
Already posted on github but I thought I'd put it here to help avoid some frustration.
The A-4 will not launch from the super carriers with the latest update, the AI A-4 will also not launch or even hook-up. Both Client and AI work fine on the USS Forestall
I can get the aircraft hooked up to the Cat but I cannot get the "Salute" to trigger the launch. I tried the Stennis and the TR on all locations. On the Forestall it works fine still. This bug is since todays update, it worked fine on the original 2.9 release

Additional context
They added a animated salute on the Hornet, if you have the pilot model active {shown) the salute function works well, I.E. voice attack and Via-Com, but without the model you have to use the \ menu. Seems odd, but I tried it both ways and those were my results.

I was getting bored of my F-18 and A-10. Blowing things up with targeting pod miles and miles away is cool and all but I felt like I wasn’t really flying the plane, ya know? Just punching things into computers.
Decided to try out the A-4 Skyhawk mod after watching a Dark Skies YouTube video about it and WHY DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG?
That planes is only as good as the pilot and boy is it a blast to fly. It was also a major realization for me how the F-18 has made me a worse aviator? The flight control computers kept me flying regardless of my shitty dog fighting skills. (If that makes sense).
The A-4 has humbled me.
I’m all about those Cold War planes now and have developed an insane appreciation for those pilots who flew these.
