I'm trying to figure out if staking USDC on EigenLayer is actually a good idea for me. I like the idea of stability, and since USDC is a stablecoin, it could save me from the wild price swings you see with ETH or LSTs. It seems like a less stressful way to dip into crypto without constantly worrying about volatility.
Now, what really grabs my attention is EigenYield, which seems to act like a crypto version of a diversified ETF. By staking through EigenYield, my USDC wouldn’t be tied to just one service but would be spread across multiple AVSs, kinda like diversifying across a bunch of companies in an ETF. That sounds pretty good since it would lower my risk and balance things out.
So, I’m wondering, is staking USDC on EigenLayer with EigenYield actually a smart play for me? It feels like a decent way to earn some rewards while avoiding the usual crypto rollercoaster. But yeah, I’m still on the fence, could be a low-risk way to get in, or maybe I’m overthinking it?
I know EigenYield as an operator doesn’t have its reward/slashing system available yet, but the EigenLayer team is working on developing it soon.
