I was watching this season's house fixer upper. An entire season dedicated to ONE lake house. Every episode they bicker about saving $5,000 on things that will make the house objectively better. This is a couple getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars just to renovate this one house on TV. The corner cutting and saving doesn't make sense at all, when the house comes out half assed compared to the original vision. The show gives off major "How do you do fellow fixer uppers?" vibes, when you know it's literally just a money printing machine.

Keep her and her creepy husband off. They have their own "network". Probably has no viewers. She adds nothing. Cannot even hold knives properly.
For the uniformed, these are the (former?) hosts of the HGTV show, Fixer Upper, Baylor Alumni, and huge fans of shiplap and wainscoting.
I used to be a fan of theirs but I feel like they've gotten way over-exposed. What does everyone feel about them? Authentic or fake? Do any of you know them IRL? Are they like their on-air personas or are they totally different when the cameras are off?
The sub for The Ultimatum (2022) on Netflix, the series revolves around five or six couples approaching marriage, but one partner feels readier than the other. The pairs will live together, and after a week, each person must choose someone from among the five couples to move in with for three weeks. Once the eight weeks are up, the original couples have to decide whether to tie the knot or call it quits.
Like, what is the significance of her? I enjoy her as a host but they seriously could’ve chosen any LGBT celebrity to host. I’m just confused & wondering if anyone feels the same.

I am watching Fixer Upper: The Castle, and their relationship is almost unrecognizable. I used to love their show when they first became popular and thought they had a wonderful relationship. He was lighthearted and funny, she was more pragmatic and professional, but they played so well off each other. Watching the castle, it's like you're watching a couple that's trying not to argue in front of the kids and really can't stand each other. It's so hard to watch.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here but does anyone think Nathan and Benny took a little inspiration for the characters from Chip And Joanna Gaines?
I remember when they first got big they were “turning Waco around” and all the real estate prices there went up.
Also in the last episode, the “queen and jester” part seems like a completely overt jab at the Gaines’.

Tonight the discovery plus and food network, along with other stations, aired the Magnolia table preview.
Personally I loved her as a designer. I felt like that was her passion in life. She had good designs and the show felt so genuine. She wasn’t overly dressed up, Chip and the kids were always involved.
Flash forward to this cooking show and it’s terrible. She’s making to many adlib additions. It seems like she doesn’t know what she’s doing. It’s honestly a hot mess. And it seems so in-genuine. She had in hair extensions and a face full of makeup. Which is fine but it just doesn’t seem to fit with there original theme of hard working down home folks. It’s as if she’s attempting to be the next Martha Stewart.
It seems like they’re just trying to make more money off the show, not that they genuinely love to do it.
Never saw that coming.
Im just waking up so I havent listened yet, but if yall watch Nate and Jeremiah, you know why this is pretty interesting. Especially after the Tan France covid interview

I don't live in Waco but the image put out there is that the people of Waco love Chip and Jo for all that they do for the community. Is this image true? What do the people of Waco think of Chip, Jo and Magnolia in general?

I have about as much interest in watching a “special” with Joanna Gaines cooking as I would in watching Guy Fieri decorating a house.
