God obviously had different plans for them

    F

    [–]Walnut-Simulacrum 2 points3 points  (2 children)

If you die from physics damage don’t you just go to the hospital even with permadeath? That’s happened to me

    [–]puuskuri 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yes and no. You can get critically injured once and then the character dies permanently. That happened to 2 of my best operatives.

    [–]Walnut-Simulacrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh really? Huh, good to know. I’ll be more careful with ledges then.

    [–]rufle23 204 points205 points  (1 child)

Funny how they even roll to the wrong side

    [–]Gr13fm4ch1n3 71 points72 points  (0 children)

    Yeah that's Ubisoft for ya

    [–]nexistcsgo 103 points104 points  (15 children)

So this is why they give you so many playable characters. Stunts like this will kill many players within a day or two

    [–]Blackadder288 24 points25 points  (14 children)

Are the random characters you gain subject to permadeath?

    [–]FluffyBrudda 23 points24 points  (3 children)

There's a setting to turn it on or off

    [–]PresidentZeus 3 points4 points  (2 children)

*There's a setting to turn it off

    [–]MrCheeze455 8 points9 points  (1 child)

*There are three different settings, one on, one off, and one on where you can't turn it off

    [–]PresidentZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started my campaign without permadeath, it alerted me that I couldn't turn it on

    [–]alizzla 5 points6 points  (9 children)

    They are

    [–]Blackadder288 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Gives me a bit of interest in the mechanic then.

    [–]backstabbr 32 points33 points  (1 child)

It's well implemented too, like getting tazed will put you in prison, getting hit by a car or punched out or falling off a short roof will out you in the hospital.

The only things that will kill you are things that WILL kill you irl, like bullets, being completely fucking obliterated by a speeding vehicle; that kind of stuff.

The nemesis system they have implemented is good too. Makes NPC's feel more human. More alive.

    [–]maximuffin2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Nemesis system, but with British people

Wondering how long this might take.. hmmm...

      [–]Vowsky_ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

How many persons do you have in the game?

      [–]PresidentZeus 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I have 20 operatives right now, but you can have up to 40 of them. why so many?

Paramedic with access to hospital/Ambulance on call. Police officer, and clan member (not with cars tho). A guy with investment perk to earn more money. A lady with bail out perk to not go to jail. A drone expert who can summon drones n stuff. A guy with discounts on shops, one on paintjobs.

A spy, with his James Bond Car, spy watch and silenced pistol. One hitman. One living statue. One construction worker with nailgun, wrench and acces to lots of places. One guy with good stats for Bare Knuckle Fights. And other people with cool weapons and car summons. I still haven't gotten the beekeeper, which has mechanical bees like those in Black Mirror.

I'm letting you know that this game.. Its amazing. But I have only had 3 or 4 weird bugs and framedrops on high vehicle speeds.

      [–]Vowsky_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I will buy it when it gets on sale tbh.

      [–]InvestigationAgency 159 points160 points  (42 children)

Im sick of games prefering graphics over physics

      [–]joshalow25 101 points102 points  (16 children)

yeaahh the physics are awful, there's even a slight stop before you fall to ground after jumping down from a fence or ledge

      [–]InvestigationAgency 78 points79 points  (15 children)

I knew they were going to reuse Watch Dogs 1 engine, Even 2008 GTA IV had 10000x better physics than WD legion

      [–]joshalow25 24 points25 points  (6 children)

It feels more like the Ghost Recon engine to me, with the same frame drops when driving and dodgy landing physics

      [–]IlCinese 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s not, they are using Disrupt Engine, a modified version of Dunia, the Far Cry Engine , with some features taken from Anvil.

Ghost Recon is on Anvil (For Honor, Siege, AC)

      [–]InvestigationAgency 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I hated the driving physics of GTA 5 because the felt arcade, well the driving physics in Watch Dogs Legion are complete shit, makes gta 5 look realistic

      [–]iWasAwesome 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Tbf it's supposed to be "futuristic" stabilization and traction control etc. But I agree, it's not very fun and badly done.

      [–]InvestigationAgency 4 points5 points  (1 child)

When i say physics i mean overall physics, not just handling, the handling can be due to futuristic vehicles, but the physics such as suspension and bumping into things is trash and feels like a 2000 game, even GTA San Andreas Had better auto physics, heck when you do a wheelie the freaking front tires dont continue to spin like in real life, even GTA Vice City had that detail.WD Legion SUCKS

      [–]iWasAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they made watch dogs 2 and legion so that it's hard to hit something with your car and just stop. You kind of clip cars and keep going, unless it's a direct hit. It's kind of nice, and I agree that it doesn't excuse the bad physics, but I just wanted to point out that that part at least is intentional.

      [–]IdahoTrees77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile I seem to have completely forgotten just how fucking touchy the vehicle handling was in IV.

      [–]OfficialAZFilms 37 points38 points  (3 children)

Nothing says physics like flying across Liberty City after hitting a swing set

      [–]Education-Strange 9 points10 points  (0 children)

BRO I REMEMBER THAT FROM GTA4! hours spent fucking around launching buses and shit

        [–]morpheuz69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dunno why you got downvoted when you speak the absolute truth..

The way the cars veer in it due to inertia while taking hard turns, the beautiful deformation physics etc was just too good.

Only better deformation (arcadish yet stylistically done) I saw before IV was in Burnout Paradise!!

Oooooo....Take me down to the paradise city!!! ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪

        [–]nm1043 5 points6 points  (1 child)

2008 gta4 had better physics than most games, including gta5, tbf

        [–]ThePandaKingdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to play watch dogs and the driving just felt really bad to me. Mads me enjoy the game alot less.

        [–]sizzler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fuck that, it took me less than a second to recognise where that was irl. Pretty impressed.

        [–]Alpaca10 29 points30 points  (23 children)

Is it just me thinking, that beside of the neat RTX stuff, the game looks meh?

        [–]TheResolver 16 points17 points  (6 children)

Yeah, the rendering is nice and all but the overall design language is just kinda bland.

        [–]iWasAwesome 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Watch dogs 2 was better, sadly. I'll still beat legion, but I already miss watch dogs 2 atmosphere

        [–]TheResolver 12 points13 points  (4 children)

I personally liked WD1 more than 2, the story was a bit more gripping for me.

But I did enjoy 2's more goofy "hack the planet"-atmosphere as well, it was a fun romp of a game.

        [–]Paterno_Ster 2 points3 points  (3 children)

WD1 story was absolute dogshit, at least the second one didn't take itself too seriously

        [–]TheResolver 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Different strokes for different folks! I've heard a lot of criticism towards WD1's story, but while not perfect by any means I liked it.

Personally, my biggest gripe in 1 was the car controls and physics, otherwise I had a swell time with it.

        [–]kushpsuthar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big watch dogs fan mostly because it was the first m rated gta like game I had played

        [–]Alpaca10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like WD1 way more than WD2. Personally for me, WD1 is to WD2 the same what GTA IV to GTA V is. Way more dark, but what sadly lacks in WD1 was more depth into the characters, it didnt took enough time for the players to have feelings for those characters.

I really recommend Whitelights Watch Dogs 1 video. For me its a good game, that got destroyed by Ubisoft

        [–]gorcorps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not a great looking game in most lighting conditions. There's been a couple times it looks good, mostly when flying on a drone above the city, but otherwise it's nothing special. I'm still having fun, but certainly not a next gen looking game by any stretch

        [–]InvestigationAgency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me, but feels like crap with its 2004 physics

        [–]abol3z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too, it's looks less than meh even with rtx on

        [–]XVoiderX 49 points50 points  (4 children)

        no rag doll? damn

        [–]poosquid 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Ubisoft's copy paste open world games and physics don't get along very well.

        [–]tomothy37 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Yeah, that really surprises me. It feels extremely lazy to not even have ragdolls, let alone a properly working physics engine, in 2020.

        [–][deleted]  (1 child)

        [deleted]

          [–]tomothy37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

          Ok, that's a relief then.

          [–]MrT735 32 points33 points  (3 children)

Road markings allow a left turn from the right lane, while the left lane can go straight on, wtf?

          [–]Matty_- 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Sounds like something my local council would do

          [–]-Jason-B- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of weird roads in my rural Texas town that could cause wrecks among people not familiar with the place. Thing is, the town is right between some of the larger cities, so we do get quite a few outsiders.

Biggest problem is, like in the video, weird turning rules within certain lanes.

          [–]andrebravado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is around Charing cross in London and I'm pretty sure you're right, those road markings are defo not true to real life!

          [–]Gujarki 17 points18 points  (9 children)

          Is the game worth it?

          [–]LloydtheLlama47 51 points52 points  (3 children)

If you didn’t like Watch Dogs 1 or 2’s gameplay, it’s not gonna change your mind, the play as anyone mechanic is just meant to shake up the formula, not create a new one, I personally enjoy the games so I’m all for this, but also you have to be willing to accept the drop in quality to story in voice acting to get something as crazy as “play as anyone” to work

In short it ain’t winning any goty awards

          [–]Gujarki 9 points10 points  (2 children)

I like the watchdogs 2 I'll probably give it a try thanks for the info.

          [–]PresidentZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The characters that are in this game are great. Here's a video showing some perks/traits of characters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIi_ztm_--k

          [–]Jamessuperfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really recommend it. The formula works super well in London and play as anyone offers loads of variety.

          [–]Heath__bar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watch the moist meter for it

          [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about buying it but idk

          [–]Synth-Pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna add to previous opinions by also advising precaution based on what platform you play on.

I'm a console player, and while I've been enjoying the game, it has hard crashed on me a dozen times now, and the game has only been out for 2 days. This morning, it stopped launching altogether, so I've had to reinstall it (which I'm still waiting on finishing).

So it's not ground breaking, but you'll like it if you enjoy the series, but it's also buggy af. I'm really hoping ubisoft steps up and patches this soon. It's a fun game, but it desperately needs some fixes.

          [–]GreatValueProducts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finish the game. I enjoyed it. There are many ways to achieve the same goal. But like Watch_Dogs 2, once you know the mechanics it is insanely easy to make use of it to your advantage. If you want to speed through it there is a way.

          [–]thesomeot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay is quite good, if you liked the previous entries in the series then you will enjoy this one, it's generally an improvement (except for the driving). I feel like it's one of the few games I've played in recent memory that really nailed that "adapt as you go" type of gameplay. Still a bit shallow, as can be expected from Ubisoft but I grabbed a month of their subscription service for $15 and that feels fair enough.

          [–]Maddox4lyf 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I know exactly where this is, is this finally a game in London with proper geography

          [–]grogulus3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked the game map, think I once lived just off the north east corner of the map.

          [–]xNamelesspunkx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok who the hell hid a Mario-kart's banana peel over here?

          [–]JacksonJ222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

          Go, Go, Gadget Bike.

          [–]lelocle1853 29 points30 points  (11 children)

Still no ragdoll? These games are terrible lol

          [deleted]

            [–]InvestigationAgency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

            I agreed

            [–]-eccentric- 5 points6 points  (5 children)

I mean it's still the WD1 engine, and basically just a WD2 DLC.

            [–]DangerClose_HowCopy 5 points6 points  (4 children)

I was thinking about buying this but knowing it’s on the same Engine that was outdated when the first WD was released 6 years ago has changed my mind. It’s a really cool concept and it could be a great game if someone other than ubi made it

            [–]-eccentric- 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Even with the extra year they took "to polish the game" and such didn't help. It plays, looks and feels like a WD2 DLC.

It's a fun game, but it's riddled with bugs and was lazily made.

            [–][deleted]  (1 child)

            [deleted]

              [–]morpheuz69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's almost like their every new title is made to be more & more "kid/grandma friendly" :/

              [–]DangerClose_HowCopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t pay $64 for something that was lazily made. I don’t know I used to really enjoy a lot of Ubisoft games but all of the most recent entries in my favorite series have been disappointing. I hate the direction they took with assassin‘s creed, The last far cry game felt just flat. I’m not really even sure what it was I just didn’t really have fun playing it. All of the things I had hoped they would improve for the second watchdogs game didn’t happen either.

              [–]ShoDoroki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GTA could do this, the only difference being it would be a feature and not a bug

              [–]lord_dude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So how are does the driving feel in the game? I remember it being ass in WD2

              [–]yoda_condition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

              Whose motorcycle is this?

              It's a chopper, baby.

              Whose chopper is this?

              It's Zed's.

              Who's Zed?

              Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.

              [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

              Is this game worth getting?

              [–]Monkfish786 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% that was discovered in QA and they just thought fuck it let's leave it in

              [–]HeavyMetalFL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

              Another quality Ubisoft release.

              [–]rokudog555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

              Wait, the game is out?

              [–]Weeb_Patrol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have they fixed the driving physics of these games yet? Do they not feel super heavy and RC car esque

              [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

              So how's the game?

              [–]noobcola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does Ubisoft keep spending money on this franchise?

              [–]arup02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

              Ubisoft quality

              [–]Naoush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason this game will sell any copies at all is because it’s a next gen launch title. Terrible physics, terrible voice acting and animations and for a next gen game the graphics look average and dull.

              [–]didthathurtalot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why do people keep buying broken games like these?

              [–]Buzstringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was free with every RTX3000 Card

              [–]MisterToppat 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I was watching a buddy play this and it was painful. First thing he did after going outside was punch a cop, steal his car, and had a shootout until he died. It was his only character and I think he failed the game??

              [–]Peacheers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a permadeath mode when all your characters die you lose the game

              [–]lorenzoiddd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

              U/savethisvideo

              Is the game any fun?

              [–]CARmakazie 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I've been really enjoying it, if you don't take it too seriously

              [–]jjjjjohnnyyyyyyy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is the euquivalent of like a Just cause 4? Ok story but fast cars and rewarding gun fights?

              [–]CARmakazie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And some good stealth with good humor. Its a more serious tone like Watch Dogs 1 with little moments where Watch Dogs 2 rears its goofy head. I've been having fun with it, but maybe thats because I never expected it to be my GOTY.

              [–]abhig535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was such a waste of my fucking money.

              [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

              Was that game released

              [–]Assman5226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this game?? Im genuinely curious

              [–]Jack_Package90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general consensus I've seen is that WD Legions is not good and not enjoyable. Does everyone whos played agree with that?

              [–]firekil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the driving isn't much improved from the first two.

              [–]Blaz9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just London things mate, fellow Londoners please back me up.

Im impressed! How did you manage you get it to run long enough to do this.....

              [–]HoeyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great when a game just comes out and there are already posts about it here
