I think it needs to be said. After reading the diatribe by an admin from the other sub, I think they have a warped idea of what most people here feel and think about the brand.
Yes, there are outliers that HATE electric cars and come to shitpost, but they’re not here…often.
Tesla was a promising company that made huge breakthroughs to make EVs mainstream (the 3rd time around.) They did so much right with building infrastructure first and innovating products for the first part of the 2010s, and even into 2022. The credit for this goes not to Elon musk, but the engineers, managers, middle managers, and even some c-suite individuals over the years who helped make it a reality.
The downfall has been because of 3 very fixable and distinct issues: QA, cost-cutting, and Elon.
Had Elon worried about quality, fit, finish, and materials like the Toyotas and Hondas; we would not be having any of the conversations we have over the past few months. The cars wouldn’t rattle apart because they’re all plastic, suspensions would not be getting wompy because of poor casting, and BMS/battery packs would not be dying had they sourced parts that were not lowest bidder.
Additionally bad QA, no marketing, lack of customer service, and poor service historically with no regard to sustainable practices in repair and refurbishment of parts are other crosses Tesla must to bear. Make the quick buck and move on. All this is Elons fault trying to milk every cent he can while pumping the stock so hard it blows out its back everyday at 4:30.
Now we are left with falling share prices, diminishing values, a skeleton crew of service advisors and a fleet of cars with “innovations” that are half-assed.
Tesla can save itself by firing Elon, implementing serious QA practices for hardware and software and every vehicle leaving the factory, and allowing time to innovate, over-deliver, and under promise.
