Hi this might be a long shot, but I’m after some help identifying a game I played over 25 years ago on my Amiga 500.
It was a turn based topdown game, involving a squad of what I think was mercenary’s. Each person in your team could be equipped individually. I remember red and blue body armours etc being available. They was also a cheat (or glitch) for infinite money on the load out screen by repeatedly selling an item I think! One character has possibly green hair and glasses?! 😄
Any ideas? I’ve been through my disc collection multiple times so I can only assume it was lost or misplaced.
EDIT: It was Taskforce by Mark Sheeky released as a cover disk. Found it while browsing Hilt 2 images prompted by U/fellowspecies

I saw the system requirements and now I'm seriously worried my Amiga 500 just isn't going to cut it. Should I upgrade to an Amiga 1200? Or should I splurge and go for an Amiga 3000 with the 2MB of RAM?

Hello guys, I installed a gotek in my Amiga. When starting it loads a selector.adf in front of Cortex. Unfortunately, only about 25% of the games I try works on it.
Is there a better version of the firmware or what should I pay attention to when selecting games?
I just know that I have to avoid playing with the addition of ecs or aga. But maybe there are ROMs out there that don't run on a real Amiga anymore.

Should I get it? (Plus I have some questions about it: can it play SimCity 2000, can it play top gear 2, can it play any 3d games)

Hi all. Just bought an Amiga 500 but not sure my setup is complete and querying whether am even able to get it running at all. I think I'm missing the RGB for a start which you can see in the image the seller provided.
Can someone take a look at give me some pointers on how to best set-up? What I am missing would be great to know and going forward what I can buy to improve the experience.
I'm currently using a LCD tv until I buy a CRT for it. But as you can imagine I just want to use what I have until then. I'm based in UK.

So I'm considering an AMIGA computer after my friend reminded me about the good times after finding his old one up in his loft (attic). I've been considering picking one up and even though I've done some research I thought it might be worth seeking advice from the community. I think my three main options locally would be this:
Amiga 500 (£150) with potential upgrade using ACA500plus (£150) - £300 total ($380) Amiga 600 (£230) - excellent condition with box, mouse, manuals and The Lemmings ($180 overall) Amiga 1200 stock (£350) or fully upgraded but no accelerator (£500) - £350 - 500 ($280 to $400)
I'd mainly be using the computer for games, playing demos and also may want to dabble a bit with music software. I do realise that the 500 is the most compatible in general with the Amiga library whilst the 1200 has superior performance out of the gate, but these can be worked around with using older Kickstarts/WHLOAD and expansion cards.
I am aware that the one big limitation is the 1200 is the only AGA capable machine and there is absolutely no way around that, although it seems there aren't too many exclusive AGA titles that are really worth playing.
So for the money I was hoping to get some guidance on would be the best value overall, so please feel free to let me know your thoughts.
Many thanks. :)

Or at least, a 020.
Yes, yes, Commodore was all about cutting costs and I'm betting 68000s were dirt cheap by comparison, but 020 came out in '84, and 030 in '87, when A500 was released near the end of the year.
If it had even had a 020, even at 12.5MHz, it would have blown any competition out of the water for a good while - a 020 in a A1200 was a tad slow when it was released, but back in '88, competing with 386, with Amiga's chipset?
Ahh. This is all just a part of my daydreams of "If I was back in year X and in charge of Commodore, what would I do?
Delay launch of A3000, and release it with a 040, and a A500+ with a 030 in '91, then a 040 A1200 in '92... Still, that gets into a tricky spot - assuming market dominance, it's possible Motorola would have been in a better spot developing further processors, but on the other hand, it's possible Commodore would have just gone the way of Acorn or NeXT.
Anyway, what would be YOUR strategy if you were the head of Commodore starting from when Amiga was released?

I have a bunch of a500 disk games that simply do not boot in my 1200.
So I need to load KS1.3/2.0 first?
