Inconceivable!

[–]RenderSlaver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do not think this means what you think it means.

[–]Tamel_Eidek 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Unbelievable!

INCREDIBILIS

[–]RuneHearth 104 points105 points  (11 children)

Lol that's cool, also does leveling swimming change something? it should give some speed at least lol

[–]Linktank 169 points170 points  (10 children)

It lowers the amount of stamina needed to swim. So you can survive going much further distances.

[–]7734128 68 points69 points  (9 children)

Much easier to build this training device than to build a longship.

[–]Contraserrene 135 points136 points  (8 children)

Well, you know how it is; you never need to swim until suddenly you really really freaking need to swim.

[–] BuilderKaxology 17 points18 points  (4 children)

Keeping a stamina potion on you can usually defuse these sorts of situations.

[–]AbsentMindedMonkey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was so happy when I figured that out, now when hunting Leviathans I have a full stack of potions, and when it sinks I don't care where I am, just potion and swim. Worst case I run out of stamina (like 2 left) and wait for the timer to drop, then another potion

[–]Contraserrene 6 points7 points  (1 child)

...until you're too far away from land, and the eel was going after her, she was frightened, the eel started to charge her and then...

[–]ZirePhiinix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're that far, log out, start a new world, dump your stuff in a box, go back to original world, die and respawn.

Good idea, I should probably have this ready on my hotbar at all times haha.

[–]Datdadi0 4 points5 points  (2 children)

The time I lost my longship full of iron to a seaserpent lol.

Ore through portals was turned on after that.

[–]DemonSlyr007 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Can I ask how? If I've got an iron loaded longboat, I run from serpents with the wind on sight. Whatever direction the wind is going, that's the direction I'm going now. I just don't see how I'll ever lose an iron load with that method.

[–]Datdadi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called I have kids, and they needed 100% of my attention when the wind also just stopped lol.

My boat was also already damaged from my trip through the swap from some leeches so it took like 1 hit.

Some YouTube video showed how Swim at 0 with no food until death compared to swim 100 only covered approx 1/4th more distance. Which is annoying, but not as annoying as how tacking is not faster than paddling in a straight line.

[–]Jordanko_the_great 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yup, really makes the grind useless. Should be at least double since it's the most boring skill to level up. All other skills you level up by playing the game normally while swimming you have to specifically do it. If it could at least increase the swimming speed or something

[–]QueasySituation5800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through exploration you can often times level swimming fairly high in some situations. Me and a buddy had a playthrough where we swam between islands often, had almost level 50 swimming by the time we reached mistlands just from exploration.

[–] HoarderLyraStygian 49 points50 points  (2 children)

The trial and error you must have done to get the exact distance to allow time enough for the rested buff is extremely impressive.

[–] Shield MageRexorInvicta[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I started out by making a 3x5 platform and then measuring how far I could swim before 50 stamina was drained. It required one or two redesigns but in the end I settled for 16 wooden beams (2m) of distance in between with stairs leading downwards (so realistically it would probably be around 12/13 wooden beams distance) You could probably push this to 17/18 wooden beams to get it more efficient but I don't know if swimming level 0 allows that, so I kept it on 16 just to be safe.

The rested bonus required a bit more trial and error, I started with campfires but their range was too limited so I switched over to Hearths. I just checked and the starting platform is a 3x8 and then ending one is a 3x5. You could probably do 3x7 on the starting one to get maximum efficiency. The bonus takes 20 seconds to proc, so if you keep that in mind you should be fine!

I bet it was a blast building it partially underwater.

[–]Odd_History6313 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just let us Olay on your server I don't wanna build this LOL

[–]Logar314159 14 points15 points  (8 children)

Why don't you just turn around instead of the portal?

[–]ExeWay 96 points97 points  (4 children)

So he can autorun and afk

[–]derkerburgl 19 points20 points  (0 children)

OSRS levels of laziness I love it

[–]MrSmartStars 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Afk

[–] Shield MageRexorInvicta[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey thx for commenting! As others have said, it's meant to be an AFK trainer :) It's dual purpose since I have it next to my Surtling farm though!

You can build this next to any farm I suppose, if you build it so that it's next to a Greydwarf farm you can still get them spawning whenever you pass by and then have braziers (or *spoiler\*)Skeletons (which trains your Blood Magic)help you kill them to get infinite stone and wood.

bc why add an extra step lmao

[–]arnsonj 5 points6 points  (2 children)

This is incredible. Please share some guide to make this 🙏

[–]OrcOfDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this for my kids.

[–] Hoardertranquilseafinally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once made a swimming trainer right by the ocean. I built something to stand on where the waves would lift me just enough that if I auto walked into a wall I would start swimming. It was tricky to get the placement right so that my feet would hit the ground before I drained my stamina and started drowning. Once I had it right I set my character to auto walk and left the game running all night. I gained 50 or 60 swimming by the morning.

[–]Alberot97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sisyphus training program

[–]Vulcan858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All fun and games till you see "the ground is shaking"

[–]Mcreesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s like my mote! Except u will drown if u don’t aggressively jump up the walls. Pretty solid mote in that regard

[–]averageguywithasmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll have to try this.😄

[–]Thibaudborny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... but... why?

[–]Fletaun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh I rather just getting yeet into the ocean

[–]Revanchistthebroken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just swim out in the water lol.

[–]Vorlironfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next stop: The Olympic Games!
