Once you've heard it, you'll never unhear it. BABYMETAL is a band that you'll either love or hate. Amuse producer Key Kobayashi delved into the unknown and fused Idol (J-Pop) and Metal, creating a sub-group of Sakura Gakuin: BABYMETAL! Having blossomed in Japan, they exploded into the Western world after their first album release in February 2014. Going on to tour the world within just four years of their creation, they really have taken the metal scene by storm.
I'm new to this subreddit, so I'm just seeing all the comments that unfolded after someone revealed that she was on a date in November.
I saw some assumptions that maybe Ben wasn't happy and left because Jenn loses her temper easily. And it reminded me of Amy Lee (she used to be Vagabond something on YT and is on a healing journey). I was interviewing to be her assistant back in 2018 and she told me she had just stopped working with another YT friend, who of course I knew from their vlogs was Jenn. I could see how sad she was about it. She basically told me that it was a weird dynamic to work under someone who was more of a peer than a boss. And she left it at that. Also random tangent but I think once I told her I was a Virgo a wall went up. She said Aquarius and Virgos don't usually click lol and guess who else is a Virgo.... So yeah that was kinda a weird interaction with Amy.
Fast forward to now. I think it was just a year ago Amy posted about how she felt so hurt about what happened between Jenn and her. Of course, she didn't mention her name but I could tell it was about her. She said something along the lines of when they were working together Amy responded with "I know" and Jenn went off, started yelling at her telling Amy how that's condescending blah blah blah. Amy was so upset that she ran out of Jenn's house crying.
Since Amy's on her healing journey she mentioned how Jenn's insecurity was projected onto her just from that one comment.
A topic that I see come up often is how Jenn always felt behind in academics (through her own words). Even from her videos especially the past 3 years, it feels like she's overcompensating for what she thought was a lack of intelligence. Tbh it's kinda annoying to hear her rant about her readings and trying to sprinkle in vocabulary that is just awkward to use in a lifestyle YT vid lol. We get it, you read.
Anyway, I could totally see Jenn yelling at Amy for being told "I know" because Jenn must've felt like her intelligence was being challenged. A very obvious insecurity of hers.
Also, a few years ago probably 2018-19 my friend used to work with Amy. She would help her w/ creatives and Amy told her I don't want anything that looks similar to Jenn Im's style bc it's basic and washed lolllll kinda true but I thought that was hilarious
Another side note: I found out where Jenn lived from Amy vlogging with her. Jenn used to live behind my aunt's house. I currently live down the street and I thought it was so weird that she was basically a gentrifier. It didn't really sit right with me but whatever she's pretty unproblematic. I'd see her walking around the neighborhood and she reminded me of a cute lil ajima
