Alena Kostornaia

Hi everyone, this is not a post against Kostornaia or Tuktamysheva but does anyone know exactly why both girls have been sanctioned by Zelenskyy? Was it because of the plushenko show?

Fs gossips has released the translation for the long interview with Alena and Georgey!

I assume that despite her having regressed quite a bit she still wanted to give it her all this season and see if she can somehow get onto the Olympic team.

At this point in the season that seems pretty unlikely, as sad as it is... (Kami is pretty much a lock and the rest of the spots will be a battle between Anna, Liza, Sasha and maybe Maiia)

Is it likely that Kostornaia will stick around for a few more seasons since she doesn't seem to want to quit despite the fact that she also must know that her chances of getting to the Olympics this year are pretty slim? Maybe this is wishful thinking, but maybe she truly does want a longer career.

But then I thought - maybe continuing for at least one more season is even part of her deal with Eteri (when she took her back)... Eteri has yet to have a successful skater stay competitive past the age of 18, so Alena could help her improve her reputation in that hindsight. This is obviously pure speculation, just a thought I had...

Maybe she'll just finish this season and then go to University, in which case I obviously wish her all the success. I just wanted to know what some of you think concerning the future of her figure skating career. She's one of my favorites :(

I'm wondering if Alena Kostornaia is in St Petersburg right now, she seems to have taken lots of photos with girls who are skating in St Petersburg teams, but they also seem to be at some competition at the moment so I'm not sure if that's actually Moscow and if it's taking place at the Sambo-70 rink, hence why Alena has been spotted there?

I ask because in light of the doping scandal, I could absolutely see Kostornaia leaving Sambo-70 for good this time, but I strongly doubt she goes back to Plushenko so maybe Mishin? Though again that seems somewhat unlikely to me, his skaters aren't known for artistry (though he is a master Axel coach) and it seems Mishin might be ready to retire once Liza and Mikhail retire.

I've heard that Alena lost 3A before she left Tutberidze. Why did it happen? Growth spurt? Quarantine? Injury? There are opinions that Tutberisze students become worse and inconsistent around age of 17.

Do you think she will regain 3A?

I just watched all of her programs in one sitting and,,,,,,,, i just,,, the ice coverage. the speed. the ease of each movement, the way her presence makes any transition look smooth. how she makes people forget that she's setting up a jump just with her grace. I am suing for emotional distress.

Let's share our favorite things about alena!! my favorite thing about her is how nuanced and malleable her presence is in contrast to her age. Most junior skaters have a trademark junior-ish quality to their skating. Not Alena. She skates with a grace and a maturity that most senior skaters struggle to achieve. She's not a one-note performer, either -- her artistry is equally good whether she's skating to her angel sp or carmen.

(edit: just rly need to say that I originally mistyped angel as angle and man did i struggle intensely to not make a "she can be your angle... or your devil uwu" joke)
