As someone who solidified their career in irreverent comedies and is such a household name, I really have to say I enjoy seeing Adam Sandler playing more serious roles like Spaceman or Uncut Gems. It really feels like we get to humanize him as an actor, and this guy really delivers! Not that he didn’t with his comedic films, hell even Click, was a small shot of his emotional range he can portray, but I love seeing him in a more vulnerable normalized setting rather than the over the top “what the most funny thing that can happen in this situation” type of actor.

Watching Funny People there's a montage in the middle where you see him playing and it got me thinking. Does AS work a basketball into every film, even the ones not related to sports? The obvious sports ones IIRC he touches a basketball in each one, including Longest Yard, Hustle, and Uncut Gems. After watching that scene in Funny People it just got me thinking if he worked it into all of them
