Damn she’s fine… 13 year old me definitely had his priorities straight.

[–]drewski1026 146 points147 points  (8 children)

93 baby, definitely was my first crush

[–]VoxMachina6 23 points24 points  (3 children)

I definitely thought you were telling us you're 93 years old and I was going to give you props for knowing how the internet works

[–]JedLeland 78 points79 points  (0 children)

73 baby, Carrie was mine.

[–]Zz_I_SouL 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Not Kelly from Saved By The Bell?

[–]drewski1026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh lord, Christina Applegate too

[–]PussySlayer71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

05 Baby, I had a crush on her before I knew what it was

[–]FL3MING 233 points234 points  (9 children)

Glad I wasn’t the only one bro

[–]zerkrazus 139 points140 points  (6 children)

Always thought she was super hot.

[–][deleted] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Thinking Natalie Portman was hot. Wow such uniqueness.

[–]mh_h98 65 points66 points  (10 children)

Anyone else got a sudden urge to watch Black Swan?

[–]mat477 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wore out my VHS of this scene when I was 10 for sure.

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

my (homophobic) dad: accidentally feeding my gayness by loving star wars and watching it daily with me since i turned one

[–]LikeThosePenguinsBattle Droid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same.

[–]Ceez92 1231 points1232 points  (23 children)

I mean you can’t blame Anakin

[–]FenrirIIIPorg 484 points485 points  (16 children)

She's hot enough to turn anyone to the dark side.

[–]roguefilmmaker 102 points103 points  (1 child)

Not as hot as Mustafar’s lava, that sealed the deal

[–]Microbuncher12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao 🤣

[–]Ceramicrabbit 92 points93 points  (13 children)

She didn't turn him to the dark side though, but nice to know how you feel about Palpatine

[–]LowKeyWalrus 37 points38 points  (4 children)

Addressing Sheev with a proper she. Palpatine is a lady yo

[–]Ceramicrabbit 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Palpatine is the Senate

[–]lpreamsGrand Admiral Thrawn 5 points6 points  (1 child)

So in ANH he dissolved himself?

[–]Rex-Goliath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People grow, okay?! He is the senate sure. But he became so much more! He just let go of part of his past that was holding him back.

[–]LowKeyWalrus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She*nate

[–]Jalhadin 14 points15 points  (6 children)

From a certain point of view...

His fear of losing her turned him, not his loyalty to palps.

[–]Ceramicrabbit 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Palpatine used her as a way to turn him to the dark side yes.

He was the one who turned Anakin, obviously she was involved but she was just a resource not the one doing it

[–]Jalhadin 6 points7 points  (4 children)

She was the bait. Which makes the joke you needed to 'ackshually' close enough for a joke.

[–]Ceramicrabbit 1 point2 points  (3 children)

How was your comment anything more than "ackshually"

[–]Jalhadin -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Because pendants invite pedantry.

Edit: I'm leaving it, they prove the point more succinctly than I ever could.

[–]Ceramicrabbit -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Pendants?

[–]Jalhadin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Case in point. You can infer by the second half what that obvious auto-correct was meant to be.

[–]iEatPalpatineAss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!

[–]Red_Naxela_ 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I saw this movie when I was six and that crop top awoke something in me

[–]jew_fart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

he risked it all and i would too

[–]SquadPoopy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Padme: "We can't be together, you're a Jedi, I'm a senator."

Also Padme: practically wears a bikini everytime she is around Anakin

[–]AnEnemyStando 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is hot

Turned on by genocide

Ticks all the boxes

[–]palinsafterbirth 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do blame the Jedi Council though

[–][deleted] 633 points634 points  (16 children)

It’s funny to see her giggling! “Just been mauled by a giant cat thing.”

[–]Ethereal_4426 262 points263 points  (11 children)

It's hilarious how in the movie she is wearing a full length shirt, then the cat scratches her back and suddenly it's a crop top.

[–][deleted] 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Cultured Cat

[–][deleted] 75 points76 points  (0 children)

That's the force for ya. It works in mysterious ways.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (1 child)

We should all be thankful to the giant CGI space monster that scratched her, can you imagine the movie with with that midriff?

[–]FreshDumbledore_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her midriff on its own turns Attack of the Clones into a good movie.

[–]CelticJoe 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Ohhhhhooohhh, thank you kitty cat!

[–]rizlakingsize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah yeah yeah

[–]Sandervv04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's George Lucas for ya

[–]noobductive 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I think she rips off that bottom part herself? Not sure doe

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Nope, the cat-thing scratches her back and then we see her from the front and it's already magically a crop top.

[–]noobductive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmfao that’s so weird

[–]sageleader 13 points14 points  (1 child)

It's a nexu

[–]OleRockTheGoodAg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bingo, the Nexu, Reek and the Acklay. 3 obscure star wars facts thatve always stayed with me.

Edit: the other trio that I still remember was the opee sea killer, the colo claw fish and the sando agua monster. There's always a bigger fish.

[–][deleted] 213 points214 points  (5 children)

Me watching the Prequels as a kid: “I can’t believe Anakin betrayed the Jedi Order for some girl.”

Me rewatching the Prequels after puberty: “I mean, the Jedi Order definitely had its flaws…”

[–]unchiriwi 36 points37 points  (3 children)

Daisy Ridley is hot too

[–]HumanOverseer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So is Carrie Fisher!

[–]olly993Battle Droid 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Not even close to her IMO

[–]At2332 1359 points1360 points  (6 children)

The kind of girl you’d give up your council commitments for

Edit: wow thank you for the awards!! Glad you guys got a quick laugh :)

[–]bigboss-2016 97 points98 points  (2 children)

Screw it. My search is over, you got my free award.

[–]At2332 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Haha thank you kind sir

[–]ThisIsPermanent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had it all and you blew it!

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

One of the few comments that got me to chuckle, have my wholesome reward (it’s the only reward I have lol)

[–]NinjaWorldWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And here I am and I honestly don’t get it…. But I am not a huge SW fan either, although I do enjoy the films.

[–]Enelro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“If they won’t give me master than I’m done masterbatin!” -Anikan

[–]Ntnme2lose 315 points316 points  (9 children)

I’m fairly sure Episode 2 and V for Vendetta were peak Portman.

[–]Noobs_r_us 88 points89 points  (0 children)

For some reason my brain stopped working half way through your sentence and I wondered if she appeared in ESB as a baby or something lmao

[–]nananananateman 158 points159 points  (10 children)

I’ve had a crush on Natalie Portman since before I knew what a crush was. Plus she’s wicked smart, which is even better. Guys, always date a girl smarter than you, it will always rub off and make you smarter

[–]googi14 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Wife is a genius.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And if she isn’t, say she is

[–][deleted] 200 points201 points  (22 children)

They made those stitches on the costume to look like pointy nips. There’s no other reasonable explanation.

[–]CommanderCody1138 96 points97 points  (0 children)

My teenage self appreciated it so much

[–]TheQuiet1994 63 points64 points  (17 children)

Considering you can also see her actual nips too, I'd wager you're right.

[–]sje46 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I will point out that George Lucas told Carrie Fisher that bras don't exist in space.

[–]Ok-Entertainment7020 20 points21 points  (15 children)

Wait for reals!?

[–]mac6uffin 22 points23 points  (13 children)

You could in the theater release. I think they erased them for the DVDs.

[–]TheRavenSayeth 12 points13 points  (7 children)

I don't believe this for a second

[–]SlumdogSkillionaire 21 points22 points  (0 children)

How many other lies have I been told by the Council?

[–]mac6uffin 8 points9 points  (4 children)

I was there, it's true. People have talked about this for years.

[–]TheRavenSayeth 15 points16 points  (2 children)

In the message board link you posted they're only debating it but no one has any proof, and many on there are disputing it.

[–]krawm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know i didnt want to think this was an actual topic of debate for years amongst star wars nerds, but then i remembered this is the internet and wasnt surprised to see it was true.

ah humanity, my bretheren...

[–]andrewdotlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can back up your claim, burnt into my memory.

[–]TheDunadan29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's Carrie talking about it: https://youtube.com/shorts/sBN_GCafuPA?feature=share

Which, maybe George is just a perve. But I could see a reasonable explanation for it, the bra probably showed right through, and it could be somewhere immersion breaking if it's not tailored to look right. Part of what sells the fantasy is not seeing anachronisms that break immersion. That said, could bras conceivably exist in Star Wars? Sure. Are there other anachronisms that slipped through? Sure. Eh, I don't know, I think you could argue both ways.

[–]TheDunadan29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or they were made to hide the nips a bit.

[–]ScootyPuffJr325 172 points173 points  (27 children)

Damn Natalie you a crazy chick

[–]TheKiltedHeathen 83 points84 points  (21 children)

YO SHUT THE F**K UP AND SUCK MY D**K

[–]Slappaadabass 26 points27 points  (9 children)

I bust in dude’s mouth like Gushers, mother f**ker!

[–]idgafos2019 16 points17 points  (6 children)

What you want Natalie?!

[–]Tir 15 points16 points  (5 children)

To drink and fight!

[–]idgafos2019 13 points14 points  (4 children)

What you need Natalie?!

[–]ShotgunJack07 15 points16 points  (3 children)

To f*** all night!!!

[–]idgafos2019 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Natalie. You are a badass biiiitch. My dick is scared of you.

[–]Dynamite_Fools 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never said I was a role model

[–]ThatWasFred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Role up on NBC and smack the shit out’ Jeff Zucker!

[–]Dynamite_Fools 14 points15 points  (1 child)

For the uninitiated

https://youtu.be/-A0iftflme4

[–]Mongostein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is a parody of this Eazy-E song

[–]dinostar 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Guess they never heard the Natalie Portman rap, kids these days...

[–]TheKiltedHeathen 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I guess not :/ Was hoping to start a chain with that lol

[–]Darkthrone0 76 points77 points  (1 child)

I had an English teacher once that said Natalie Portman “wasn’t that pretty” and I was like “someone is smoking too much crack.”

[–]Solid_Freakin_Snake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only appropriate response to such a nonsensical statement.

[–]luminous-snail 38 points39 points  (2 children)

She's having a great time!

[–]Western_Watch_5784 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I want to be her

[–]Crafty-Bedroom8190 16 points17 points  (0 children)

She looks like she's having so much fun!

[–]JonsonPonyman98 48 points49 points  (1 child)

I could say a bunch of sexual stuff, but she does just look nice. Happiness is enjoyable to see

[–]kangareddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman

[–][deleted] 43 points44 points  (1 child)

I would normally say bros before hoes, but I think we could have an exeption here

[–]Max1muslegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No matter how close you are with your bros, it’s unconditional in this case.

[–]Vegetable2020 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That top right picture of her is just so adorable!

[–]Light_Song 8 points9 points  (3 children)

That kind of injury and not a drop off blood?

[–]bivenator 5 points6 points  (2 children)

nexu claws obviously cauterize better than a lightsaber.

[–]Light_Song 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Or obviously Padme has alien platelets that prevent external bleeding but they obviously don't work on internal bleeding.

[–]BlondeBobaFett 45 points46 points  (19 children)

While I love her - I never really have had a huge draw to the Anakin and Padme ‘ship.

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points  (15 children)

Trauma relationship for her and he always liked her. She was also manipulated a lot.

[–]RinneganRaikage 37 points38 points  (8 children)

I watched a psychology video on love types and Anakin was used as an example, of the Anxious Type. Literally based on manipulation and obsession. After watching the video I had to respect how well written Anakin and Padme's love story was. And how much sense it makes based on Anakin going from an angry neglected child to the top level of adulthood(becoming a jedi). All of the anxious types actions are most commonly related to childhood. Fatherless, oppressed slave, losing his only cherished connection with his mother. It makes sense.

[–]TLJDidNothingWrongChopper (C1-10P) 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Elaborate on the manipulation? I’m curious.

[–]RinneganRaikage 17 points18 points  (1 child)

"The thought of not being with you, I can't breathe". Being obsessed to the point of viewing the loss of connection as dying, and making the partner fear hurting you to the degree of it in result being painful for them to do. You view the person as godly, and when they don't subscribe or act how you would think, you fear they don't actually care about you, so you accuse and berate and fit everything they do into what you want to believe.

[–]Rowl8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you mean that the phrase "I can't live without you" is problematic? Can you elaborate and simplify about it

[–]JonsonPonyman98 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yea exactly. Not to say that George is perfect with his romance dialogue, but the basis of these love stories is the best in business. He knows how to craft stories

[–]MildlyBadTaste 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Could you link something deeper regarding psychological love types?

[–]RinneganRaikage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe the theory was started by John Bowlby in the 60's, The 5 Styles of Attachment, which is relevant to any type of relationship. The Avoidant. The Anxious. The Disorganized, and The Secure.

The Anakin video I reffered to is: https://youtu.be/QP-nPJbTgTs

Everything we learn in life especially subconsciously is subject to what we experienced in childhood. We naturally compartmentalize and end up handling relationships and situations later in in life based on those experiences.

*Edit: Not necessarily love types sorry that was misleading that was what I recalled it as without going back to look at the theory.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

These psychology videos gotta stop calling me out.

[–]BlondeBobaFett 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Also I always forget how young she was when she shot this - I think she was 16 (so also presumably that age in this photo). Since I was just a kid then I felt like because she had been acting for so long she was older.

Edit - looks like she was 19 for episode 2 (16 for episode 1) - so still a teen

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (2 children)

She was 21 in 2002.

[–]robersj4Jedi 13 points14 points  (1 child)

She was 19 when they filmed episode 2 and 16 when they filmed episode 1.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is aotc, not tpm

[–]turkeygiant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for Hayden Christensen, while both him and Portman had terrible direction in the prequels, I think he looked much worse simply because he had more screen time to be given bad direction.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's with the younglings now.

[–]strenuousobjector 6 points7 points  (0 children)

WE LOVE YOU NATALIE!

[–]zachsnapwell 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I'd dismember Mace Windu for her.

[–]nightdrive82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those people that barley knows who celebrities are, much less someone to have a "celebrity crush" Natalie was (If I'm honest, IS) the exception. She's grown & aged remarkably well, so talented, smart, good human, etc.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's always had the loveliest smile.

[–]FL3MING 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Queen 🥰

[–]_Levitated_Shield_Imperial Stormtrooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised the thread hasn't been locked yet.

[–]JasonGryphon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That 2nd pic with her cheeky smile just melts my cold heart.

[–]I_FUCKIN_ATODASO_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s true, Natalie Portman is fine as hell

[–]Elliott2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dat top left photo

[–]CareerAdviceThrowMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whoever made Natalie laugh like that in the top right, they must hold that moment dear to them

[–]Dantexr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s cute as fuck

[–]Sandervv04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BTS pics of Natalie Portman will never cease to get upvotes it seems...

[–]JostiTosti55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iconic

[–]Ksiisblack69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ill do what i must

[–]TerribleShoulder6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d simp for her without shame

[–]Slav_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe George actually had her get slashed by a tiger for this scene.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. She's the one who really woke up middle schooler me to girls. I've been looking for a girl like Padme ever since.

[–]Corporation_tshirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say that celebrities are those people who, even if they aren’t famous, are those people who when they walk in a room look like they’ve got a spotlight on them and every head turns and notices them. Natalie Portman has had that since she was a kid. Such star power.

[–]myabacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teenage me remembers

[–]KidCaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a babe

[–]RuhFuhQuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be a website from around 2008 where it has pretty much every Episode 2 BTS Padme pictures in it. Green background and booru-style. Little me pretty much frequented it

[–]BirdGooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah she made my childhood something, that's for sure. 11 years old and things were kickstarted by this lady right here.

[–]ShoDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was absolute dream in this movie.

[–]RandomnessConfirmed2Jedi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That giggle is meme worthy. Oh wait.

[–]BlueKyuubi63Anakin Skywalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that's my wife but I don't think Anakin would approve of that

[–]tisha_p_moon 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I always find she actually looks her age in any behind the scenes pictures I came across. I don’t know why, but in the movies she always appears much older than her character is supposed to be. To me, anyway. Especially TPM. She’s supposed to be 14, and at the time of filming I believe she was 16 or 17, but when I actually watch the movie, all I see is a 20 year old. Just me commenting my musings out loud😊

[–]GingerTats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd assume it's the way she carries herself. She's portraying extremely competent royalty, which in turn makes her seem older than she is, as would the character she is playing.

[–]BurantX40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still in high spirits after getting gashed on the back, what a (storm)trooper!

[–]LambeauCalrissian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really happy I ain't wearing sweatpants right now.

[–]Hitt_and_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fapped to her in that outfit so many times as a kid.

[–]jonny3jack[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the scene with this wardrobe, her smile kinda freaks me out. She's fine regardless.

[–]Round_Damage_6260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheesh 🥵🥵 no wonder why young me loved star wars so much ❤️❤️ finest woman alive to this day still.

[–]thegrimm54321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, here I go lovin again

[–]RiffnMace Windu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

one day gents, one day

[–]Jetlaggedz8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These pics will make a fine addition to my collection.

[–]Rimbotic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Damn she really got clawed? I thought it was CGI

[–]cankatango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wOnT' bE a SiMp!

Natalie Portman Exists

At your service my queen.

[–]Groundbreaking_Goat1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d marry her so hard 😍❤️

[–]Chen-eration97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's too cute to be kept alive.

[–]KJ86er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My how my **** has grown!
