I wish I understood Saudi Arabia rules better.

It seems like every celebrity goes there for big paychecks but shouldn’t be allowed to perform what they’re known for.

[–]KTO-Potato 977 points978 points  (52 children)

They are paying the celebs for the name recognition, not the actual acts. "This venue hosted X Y and Z famous people".

[–]POOP-Naked 279 points280 points  (0 children)

And they were all part of the “Silent Concert Series”

Are face tits similar to back boobs, but on your face?

      [–]Upset-Builder 29 points30 points  (3 children)

Is getting face tits a thing now?

      [–]catdogfox 18 points19 points  (3 children)

She appears to be made entirely of plastic

      [–]tiffanylockhart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

      love me a recycling queen

      [–]Tall_aussie_fembot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What are face tits? Urban dictionary didn’t clarify.

      [–]Party-Ring445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must be thinking of Iggy Pop

      [–]Royal_Smoke94 18 points19 points  (10 children)

Me either, dude she has a better body than I remember lol

      [–]I_Am_Hella_Bored 62 points63 points  (5 children)

No hate to her or anyone else but you saw her with professional makeup and clothes designed to show her off at her best. Which is perfectly fine but if you look at her more candid shots. She's kind of just a normal person. Not that that's a bad thing.

      [–]Tough_Safety9907 23 points24 points  (2 children)

I feel you most of us are average.

      [–]JillsFloralPrint 22 points23 points  (0 children)

      That’s what average is.

      [–]el-art-seam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      That’s mean…

      [–]JillsFloralPrint 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Yeah, but she’s got a face like a Plecostomus.

      [–]numbr87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If Iggy did porn instead of music I'd be her biggest fan

Idk it seems you get it actually

      [–]Unhelpful_Applause 18 points19 points  (9 children)

It’s attempt to appear westernized so they receive less criticisms for lack of social standard. See sportswashing.

I wish I understood why everyone is just okay with celebs taking money from an intolerant sexist and racist country that would enslave over half the population of the world if given a chance to do it and they don't even care to pretend they wouldn't.

      [–]shartonista 226 points227 points  (6 children)

I'm not ok with it, but no one cares what I think.

      [–]JaiFlame 105 points106 points  (3 children)

I care what you think. :) Have a wonderful day.

      [–]MostDopeBlackGuy 49 points50 points  (2 children)

We did it we solved racism and sexism now we can focus on our next big problem, reducing rent

      [–]OmgItsDaMexi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you're not ok with it shartonista then I'm not ok with it!

      [–]NWHipHop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe you need to be a celebrity. You know the elites jesters.

      [–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Because we built our refineries to refine light crude oil and refuse to upgrade refineries here to refine the heavy oil we produce. So we’re forced to send trillions of dollars to unfriendly countries to give us oil we can use and those trillions never come back.

      [–]the00therjc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

FYI we only get 7% of our crude from SA. Due to fracking (which is a while other topic) we don’t have to import as much. Now we get a lot of money from them by selling military equipment.

      https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/oil-and-petroleum-products/imports-and-exports.php

      [–]Dingdongbats 37 points38 points  (10 children)

Well, seeing that private shows pay extraordinary money that you don't normally hear about, I would not be surprised that the celebs do it anyway. And possibly that money earned there is untaxed if employed there kind of thing? Not sure how that works there, apart from service and airline industry people.

      [–]satsfaction1822 41 points42 points  (9 children)

If they’re a US citizen they’re paying taxes on that money. The US is one of few countries that tax global income. Sure you can try to find a way around it, funnel it to offshore accounts and what not, and they probably do but it is tax fraud.

      [–]ststaro 27 points28 points  (2 children)

Not going to funnel it anywhere. Most of Saudi banks are divisions of world wide banks i.e. HSBC, etc. they report your income/ banking the the USA through agreements. Most you can do is take the foreign income exclusion that makes your 1st 110k tax free

      [–]ModifiedAmusment 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Most you can do is ask for cash..

      [–]ststaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given one must declare anything over 10000.00 when entering most countries. That’s not going to be your best best.. taping millions of dollars to one’s self is for the movies.

      [–]luxmainbtw 1 point2 points  (5 children)

      Iggy azalea is Australian

      [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I where does she live and pay taxes though

      [–]MrSquiggleKey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless she’s a citizen, extra territorial income isn’t taxed in the US unless the contract was brokered through an American based agency who is then paying her.

It entirely depends on if the performance contract was done directly as a free agent or as part of a company with US ties.

      [–]SumpCrab 37 points38 points  (17 children)

Back in the 90's an artist tried not to be a "sell out." Today, it seems everyone is selling out before we even know their name.

      [–]HiiiTriiibe 42 points43 points  (5 children)

well in fairness, it went from being able to make money to music not making any actual money directly, streaming services and bad label practices led to an already predatory industry being even worse. Also, unfortunately, p2p back in the early 2000s showed that consumers don’t have any interest in supporting their favorite artists, just enjoying their work free of charge, streaming services know this so they only provide roughly 0.003 cents per stream, it’s not feasible to make money normally, so artists do what they must instead of doing what they can. It’s not selling out, it’s trying to make enough money to retire in an industry with an inherently short lifespan

      [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Artists never really made any money. Only big artists. Streaming is just another way for other people to make money instead of the artists, but its not like every artist made much. Most would get fucked by the contracts they signed and lose any rights to publishing.

      [–]AltruisticField1450 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Artists never made money on their albums, most would go to the label and the bands would make their money on the road

Oh, poor little old her! She was practically FORCED to sell her soul to Saudi Arabia for money and attention to kick of her career!

Well, I guess it makes sense for every music artist to line up for flights to Saudi Arabia then, right? Under the logic of "artists are practically forced to make money from Saudi Arabia," then I guess the Saudis are playing a winning strategy where it's practically guaranteed that they win all of the music artists the whole world over, since these poor, poor music artists have no agency of their own. It's inevitable, isn't it?

      The Future is Saudi lmao

      [–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (7 children)

It's all about money. Before the artists at least pretended to care about the content of their music and message they spread. Now they're openly admitting that they're doing everything for the money. Doing things that would've been considered extremely problematic in the past (for example performing in a country which breaks every possible human right) are now a sign of status because it makes a lot of money. They don't even pretend to care anymore.

In the 1980's Queen had a huge backlash when they performed in apartheid-South Africa. It started an anti-apartheid campaign in the music industry.

But now, when a famous "artists" performs for the Saudi billionaires (who lock their wives behind closed doors), it's nothing. Fans don't care. Despite the fact that the Saudi troops just recently gunned down hundreds of refugees on their border. The greed of music business and artists themselves makes me sick. I have absolutely zero respect for anybody who goes and does a show in Saudi-Arabia.

Iggy Azalea could just as well go and sing her songs for Vladimir Putin or Kim-Jong Un.

      Shameful.

      [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because of the climate we’re in, there’s no more gatekeepers. I’m one of the few people that appreciate my brothers or other cool people with taste guide me on what’s cool and what not to do growing up.

      [–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

In this case, who would they perform for? That same statement could unfortunately be made for ultra rich of the US as well.

      [–]Cool_83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a ticketed concert open to the public, kinda like the 100-200 concerts that go on each year in saudi these days

      [–]AnEmpireofRubble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t make billions of dollar and all the political candidates in my area are captured by oil and gas interests. Preach more though buddy.

      [–]shoutsoutstomywrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because most people don’t give a fuck about the social or moral quandaries they’re facing on vacation

      [–]Firm_Spot6829 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd take their money if it meant they had less money to do awful things with. But that money is probably just a drop in the bucket for them.

      [–]OldBrokeGrouch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t know why they perform in the United Stares either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      [–]SimplyXong 7 points8 points  (15 children)

Saudi Arabia is trying this thing, where they don’t want to be seen as all the horrible things you just said.

Rumors about their oil reserves are running dry, they have a very small tourism economy because people are just scared of going. I think they also want to be more culturally modern as they are technologically modern.

The problem is, they more the country tries to do something to reach their desired goal post to be more appealing to the world stage. They have problems like this.

Saudi Arabia have special designated zones where performers like Iggy can put on a show without the ever watchful eye of the cultural police. A great draw on for touring artists to add to their list of destinations. Only for it to completely backfire with an above as an example.

I can only imagine Saudi Arabia’s ruler, I think it’s the son he’s like the crowned prince that makes the decisions. His dad just allows him to do so, someone correct me if I’m wrong I only occasionally visit Saudi politics. Anyway, they invite big name artists that everyone else in the west and some in the region see on their tours. Only for headlines like this sparking a debate.

If you as a nation want to be seen as modern than invite these performers, only then to clutch your pearls because something goes wrong and you act in a way that even your neighbors would consider primitive.

      [–]AccomplishedBox9535 1 point2 points  (14 children)

The mutawa'a (religious police) no longer exist. MBS got rid of them

      [–]JevverGoldDigger 1 point2 points  (12 children)

Ah, so now the regular police just handles it instead? Sweet.

I think people pick the moral choice instead of what benefits them all the time, the stakes are just multiplied by like 100 here. Lots of people on Reddit have this, "SHUT UP! YOU WOULD DO IT TOO!" mentality when someone says they think it's morally bankrupt. The, "everyone would do it" folks seem to be showing their ass and trying to justify the morally bankrupt decision they agree with.

        [–]GetRealPrimrose 58 points59 points  (63 children)

The “everyone would do it if they could” crowd gets real upset when you tell them you wouldn’t. There are so many less impactful ways people could screw over others every single day and I still see people do the right thing. I don’t understand giving celebrities a pass when the stakes are 100 times higher. It’s fucking selfish and despicable, I’m not prepared to accept “you would do it too” as an answer.

        [–]Solstyse 35 points36 points  (24 children)

They get upset because they know it's wrong.

We absolutely shouldn't give celebrities or public figures a pass for this shit. So why do we?

        [–]GetRealPrimrose 22 points23 points  (22 children)

Luckily people don’t care for Iggy much anymore but I think with bigger acts it just comes down to how unavoidable they are.

I’m pissed at Taylor Swift for touring through anti-LGBT states and not speaking up about the issues. I’m pissed at Ariana Grande for cheating on her husband and getting involved with a guy who just had his first child with his wife. But when Taylor and Arianna release new albums, that’s what all my friends are talking about. If I don’t listen to the albums, I have less to relate to my friends about on the topic of pop culture

Edit: Lmao at being downvoted for this. We can take criticism of Saudi Arabia, but not Florida Texas and Tennessee?

        [–]Muted-Lengthiness-10 21 points22 points  (10 children)

“If I don’t listen to the albums, I have less to relate to my friends about on the topic of pop culture”

        Man that’s fuckin bleak

        [–]VisionGuard 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Also, didn't Mbappe refuse to go to Saudi Arabia recently? I know it's not singing, but it's in the same vein of "not all celebrities do this".

        [–]inksmudgedhands 7 points8 points  (10 children)

I think it's because the acts that go to these type of countries are so huge that when a fraction of the fans do speak out against for playing in said countries, the rest of the fandom drowns them out defending their idols. And it is practically idol worship. For example, there was some growing grumbling years ago for Beyonce using almost slave labor in third world countries for her goods. She still does! But that small but growing voice was squashed by the rest of the "Beehive" who think she can do nothing wrong. So, the complaints never picked up traction and faded out of the media light.

These idols are the "too big to fail" types of acts. They could murder someone on stage and the majority of their fans will roar with approval. Smaller acts can't get away with this because they don't have a big enough fan base to defend their bad behavior. They actually have to face it rather than hide behind their legion.

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Are you an American?

        [–]DepressionNoodles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s so bad when it comes to talking about football (soccer) players going to play in Saudi for a big payday.

“Something something generational wealth, you would too” as if the players in question weren’t making a quarter million every week already.

The rich and famous don’t need the payday. They already have generational wealth. It’s greed. People on Reddit are just blinded by dollar signs lol

        [–]Upset-Fix-3949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically they would do it in a heartbeat and are shocked that other people wouldn't.

        [–]Random_frankqito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

        [–]Lumko 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Because the hypocrisy chain would not end. Saudi Arabia violates human rights, so does the US; China enslaves people and genocides minorities, France funds governments that kill off their civilians, Iran oppressed woman, the US overthrows democratically elected governments and funds a lot of human rights violations outside its borders. That's an example of a hypocrisy chain.

        [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That is so true lol. I suppose a good rebuttal to that is that we’re allowed to criticize our political representatives when they do fucked up shit. We can just bitch at our politicians on twitter and nor have to worry about getting executed alone in the woods with a bag over our head.

Edit: perfect example of what you said are all of the comments under yours

        [–]Legitimate_Summer435 2 points3 points  (1 child)

As long as right wing parties are allowed in western countries, it's impossible to take western outrage over saudi arabia seriously

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C'mon the USA isn't that bad.

        [–]deathbydexter 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Not so different from the USA lol from where I stand women’s rights and working conditions for people not born into rich families are grim. Sadly Canada is following in these footsteps. Sad really.

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that i think it’s okay, i just don’t care. I imagine most normal people don’t either. Being outraged and shaming her anonymously on the internet isn’t going to do shit but make other random people think I’m a good person, which would be false. But yeah going to Saudi Arabia to perform sounds like a terrible idea, especially for women. I would advise against it if i had any friends that were mega pop stars.

        [–]notprescriptive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyoncé's performance was particularly hypocritical given the albums was supposed to be celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

        [–]BWDpodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about Saudi Arabia or the US? We still have legal slavery as enshrined in our constitution and employ slave labor on a massive scale.

        [–]ArchAngelZXV 33 points34 points  (1 child)

You can thank Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, which has been paying exorbitant amounts for sports and entertainment to come over there. WWE does yearly shows in Saudi Arabia and they get paid $50 million for one show, which is more than the income for a whole WrestleMania week.

        [–]Aquatic-Vocation 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep, they also pay celebrities to straight up just take a holiday over there and make a big deal about it on social media.

        [–]yogabackhand 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point is to have enough “power” (money) to make foreigners come and kiss your @ss and play by your rules. Punishing rule breakers is not contradictory, it’s part of the performance. The more well known or famous the person is, the more powerful the Saudis look by having the power to punish them or constrain their behavior.

        [–]PJTikoko 40 points41 points  (10 children)

The Saudis are vain clout seekers so their a perfect match for some of these celebrities.

Their goal is to look as prominent as other first world countries while still executing women for driving or gays for existing.

Why Americans support the royal family is beyond me.

        [–]VisionGuard 18 points19 points  (5 children)

Why Americans support the royal family is beyond me.

It's because it's geopolitically relevant. Americans (and every other country on earth, don't get it twisted) aren't pro "the royal family", they're pro "this government is predictable and we can make deals in our self-interest with them" and the Saudis, up until recently, agreed with the Americans.

        [–]Upset-Fix-3949 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Yeah the government is predictable until they fund the terrorist group that causes 911

        [–]PJTikoko 7 points8 points  (1 child)

        America 🤝(slavery) Saudi Arabia

        [–]VisionGuard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All countries have those relationships or openly ally with those that do.

        [–]Upset-Fix-3949 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially considering how that royal family funded Al Qaeda

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americans generally don’t. Our government does for a variety of reasons

        [–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Because it's a country run by hypocritical, wealthy, slaveholding scumbags.

        [–]ChillNigz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a shisha lounge Friday, and the music they play in there is extremely haram.

        [–]Voceas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's whitewashing: "see, we're modern and one of the good guys". In reality, all she's doing is legitimating a dictatorship stuck in the 900s.

        [–]OldBrokeGrouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like you pretty much summed it up? What’s not to get?

        [–]HappySandwich93 258 points259 points  (7 children)

See I agree that’s silly, but if that’s banned why did Saudi Arabia let her perform in the first place? This is a woman whose new comeback single is about how she only dates men who pay her lots of money, and that money makes her orgasm. That was acceptable to the Saudis? Not even mentioning the music video with a gun that turns men into hot women.

        [–]YikesOhClock 94 points95 points  (1 child)

I think the theme of that single perked some Sheik ears lol

        [–]bkr1895 39 points40 points  (0 children)

“Huh, I certainly happen to have a lot of money, I should see what I can do about that”

        [–]doitnow10 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is a woman whose new comeback single is about how she only dates men who pay her lots of money, and that money makes her orgasm.

So, pretty relatable for the Saudis

        [–]catawompwompus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

… how she only dates men who pay her lots of money, and that money makes her orgasm.

Acceptable? That part is preferable. The red light district in Bahrain is filled with Saudis every weekend looking for “temporary marriage”.

        [–]hypatekt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she may have performed in a few places beyond this concert during her visit.

        [–]Carl0sTheDwarf999 1393 points1394 points  (70 children)

        Don’t go to Saudi Arabia

        [–]Jugales 744 points745 points  (41 children)

Saudi Arabia: We want to become the tourism capital of the world. Don't do anything fun though. You come here to see big things and spend thousands of dollars for two drinks. That's it. Enjoy or go home.

        [–]Maj0r_Ursa 218 points219 points  (28 children)

        Rich tourists: sounds amazing

        [–]El-JeF-e 138 points139 points  (22 children)

Influencers: doesn't matter as long as I get a cool hotel room video where I go out on the balcony into a cool pool with a nice view.

        [–]BaconSoul 98 points99 points  (19 children)

God I hate this trend of influencers going to these draconian states and shooting literal propaganda for a few thousand dollars

        [–]TheGhostofWoodyAllen 24 points25 points  (12 children)

And I hate that influencers aren't seen as a subcategory of prostitution.

        [–]metanonymous 43 points44 points  (7 children)

Prostitutes provide a real service don’t lump them in with influencers.

        [–]TheGhostofWoodyAllen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Sex work is labor. Influencing is a euphemism for marketing, and marketing is capitalism forcing the rest of us to sniff its farts.

        [–]Cuntflickt 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Bc most people don’t know that a huge amount of these IG girls are quietly Dubai porta potties

        [–]Sbee27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any link to an article/documentary about this subject by chance? I’ve been so interested in the idea of Yacht Girls and influencer+ rich Saudi men for a couple years but can never find more than a very basic 3-minute video about how “shocking” such a concept is without any actual information, or articles where it’s an interview of one anonymous girl who says she saw some bad things happen on a yacht.

        [–]shifty1032231 10 points11 points  (1 child)

These female influencers who go to Dubai are literally prostituting themselves and get paid more for doing worst things. I saw a youtube video explaining this where one influencer literally admitted on camera that she was going to take the virginity of a underage arab boy that his older brother paid for. So when you see those influencers pics in Dubai with the great views and expensive clothes/bags that they recently bought it was from the tens of thousands of dollars that they got from prostitution.

And those two drinks aren’t even alcoholic

        [–]FictionFantom 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Don’t forget all the influencers showing us how “safe” it is there because they left a laptop out in public for an hour and no one stole it…Cause if they did their hands would be chopped off.

        [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

        Do they have alcohol?

        [–]Jugales 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Alcohol is illegal in Saudi Arabia

        [–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah thought so. So virgin cocktails LOL

        [–]HisQueenCunt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except for the wealthy. Islamic laws don’t apply to the people forcing it on their people.

        [–]HerezahTip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised Antonio Brown was allowed out of there

        [–]MaarDaarPoepIkUit 209 points210 points  (5 children)

Yeah no sympathy for her playing there and crying about it

        [–]lechatsombre 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Ding ding that’s the correct answer. Like what was she expecting it’s Saudi Arabia.

        [–]MarameoMarameo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

        Exactly.

          [–]actionguy87 79 points80 points  (1 child)

Iggy Azalea releases new song and then I immediately start seeing random stories about her on Reddit. Marketing can be so subtle and clever nowadays.

          [–]Vivid-Army8521 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that would be pretty smart of her team to deliberately cause the pants to rip in the middle of her show there.

          [–]NolaDutches 417 points418 points  (49 children)

She’s that desperate for a paycheck?

          Karma.

She defended tory lames after he shot Megan tha stallion.

If a Saudi prince offers you $2 million to fly in and perform for an hour, that’s hard to turn down.

          [–]The_Great_Grafite 91 points92 points  (20 children)

Not if you already own millions and have a shred of decency and self respect left.

          [–]PugRexia 84 points85 points  (9 children)

Fame is fickle, better grab the cash while you can before you get the Lizzo treatment or get too old to be a popstar.

          [–]TheBabaBook 56 points57 points  (7 children)

Lizzo gave herself the Lizzo treatment by not paying her dancers. Not paying people for work is incredibly scummy and she'd probably have no issue performing in Saudi Arabia if half of what has come about her is true.

          [–]PugRexia 7 points8 points  (6 children)

No dispute from me that Lizzo is bad.

          [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yeah didn’t she make her dancers eat a banana out a prostitutes pusspuss

          [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lizzo gave herself the Lizzo treatment

          [–]AaronC14 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah but this is Iggy Azalea we're talking about here

          [–]Hypern1ke 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Honestly for an irrelevant and past her 15 min of fame artist like iggy azalea she probably can't afford to turn that down.

          [–]JunkInTheTrunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

          “Perform” used so loosely here

          [–]therealdickdasterdly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think her middle name is Thee (/s)

          [–]zeynabhereee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

          That’s even worse.

          [–]CarlMarcks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Fuck you for playing in Saudi Arabia in the first place?

          [–]TheIgnoredWriter 46 points47 points  (1 child)

TIL: Iggy Azalea still performs music

          [–]throwaway76770408 5 points6 points  (0 children)

          News to me too.

Pro tip: don’t play in Saudi Arabia

          [–]Upset-Fix-3949 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Easy solution don't go to Saudi Arabia

          [–]SamuraiJackBauer 92 points93 points  (17 children)

Chris Hemsworth is there now whoring for Bonesaw.

I hate these Elitists and prostitutes pushing SA.

          [–]Jon_the_Hitman_Stark 42 points43 points  (3 children)

Whoring for the guy that wrestled Spider-Man?

            Bonesaw?

            [–]lololpalooza 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bonesaw is a reference to the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a prominent US journalist and critic of the Saudi government. The assassination, which involved using a bonesaw to cut up and hide Khashoggi's remains, was ordered by the crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS). "Bonesaw" is most likely a reference to MBS.

When pants split generally the default rule is to not be allowed to finished. Learned that when it happened to me shopping, swimming, dancing, dogging

            [–]confusedtophers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pants optional shopping and dogging for me, just to be safe.

            [–]sean8877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer the clothing optional dogging park

            [–]LeaChan 7 points8 points  (3 children)

It ripped to expose only her thigh, not her ass or genitals, I checked.

            [–]BLACKdrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            [–]FreeofCruelty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then don’t play in Saudi Arabia, bringing them even more money they do not deserve.

            [–]Dudezila 6 points7 points  (0 children)

            Leopard ate my face moment.

            [–]partsguy850 17 points18 points  (7 children)

She needs an OnlyPants account. This has happened before at a teenagers party she performed at, iirc.

            [–]bellyflop2 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I’m actually more amazed that she is still touring. I haven’t heard of her for so long that I totally thought she was selling vegemite somewhere.

            [–]zeynabhereee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a few years she’ll probably be one of the yacht girls to the rich Arab dudes. A lot of famous models have already done that.

            [–]zombuca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The easy solution is to not start a show in Saudi Arabia.

            [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you should stay out of countries that condone slavery and treat women like second class or even third class citizens. Just a thought.

            [–]Old_Cheesecake_5481 57 points58 points  (26 children)

What kind of pig takes Saudi money anyway?

It’s a real indicator of personal lack of morals.

            [–]TheTinRam 29 points30 points  (0 children)

            Phil Mickelson

            [–]Kind_Bullfrog_4073 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Surprised they allowed her at all

            [–]Lil_Ape_ 8 points9 points  (2 children)

People actually pay to see her?

            [–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Don't go to Saudi Arabia and then complain about how misogynistic they are.

Plus, Iggy has problems of her own so she needs to keep her mouth shut.

            [–]TigreSauvage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish people would just stop performing in Saudi Arabia, but money talks.

            [–]Jaislight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't have performed their in the first place. Surprise they didn't stone her after the pants split. Money over morality.

            [–]MomsAreola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep asking why people go to Saudi Arabia for anyth.... oh I was interrupted by Mr. Crabs.

            [–]Discremio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most surprising aspect of this story?

Iggy Azalea still has a career.

            [–]takatori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised Saudi is now allowing Western acts into the country — it was sealed off to non-Muslims just a few decades ago.

            [–]jayperr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wouldnt believe what else you (as a woman) arent allowed to do in Shitty Arabia

            [–]say_dist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why couldn’t she just put on spare pants? I’m sure she must have costume changes out the back!

            [–]axon-axoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

            She's still around?

            [–]Thrashed0066 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saudis like to throw the money around but god forbid one of their ‘morality’ rules get broken

            [–]m1kasa4ckerman 31 points32 points  (16 children)

Love that she most likely gave her crew an ultimatum in terms of working in Saudi. Imagine being a woman, or queer, and your boss saying you have to go to a country where you have zero rights? No sympathy for Iggy. She should’ve never taken a show there.

            [–]joshdts 19 points20 points  (10 children)

You just invented a scenario to be mad about.

            [–]mza82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She only brought one pair of pants!

            [–]MasterLum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

too fucking bad. maybe you shouldn't have performed there in the first place.

            [–]sweetalmondjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            She is such trash

            [–]doubGwent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, what were you thinking BEFORE accepting the money to so the show at Saudi ?? Did you have an agent and lawyer to handle this kind of contract?

            [–]16Schlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are fans of hers in the year 2023?

            [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            ...is she really surprised?

            [–]RedEyeLAX_BOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why even perform there. Don’t these stars have any social conscience

            [–]cubsfantn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever is under her pants can't be worse than her voice.

            [–]LowMolasses4446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She shouldn’t be performing there anyway!! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

            [–]Mrhappytrigers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember if it was in Saudia Arabia or one of the surrounding territories, but when Nelly performed the song "Hot in Herre" they had him censor the "so take off all your clothes" section of the song, so he's just standing there for a moment while the beat plays till he can sing the next part. Lmao

Couldn't even mention Marijuana in his songs either.

            [–]n4snl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t she go change pants ?

            [–]r0ndr4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One day Saudians will just start putting this famous people in jail. Maybe that day they will realize its not worth to take their money.

            [–]JasonABCDEF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol everyone here would go for 2M.

            [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why Superman wears red underwear on the outside.

Superman was created in 1938 by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Schuster. Schuster was heavily influenced by strongmen at the time. Those strongmen would wear a pair of tights but also an underwear-like garment over them.

            Why?

Because they were afraid that, while performing their act, their rights would split, and wanted something to keep their naughty parts covered from the audience.

And that's the reason why early superheroes had costumes designed with underwear on the outside.

            [–]Acrobatic_Tomato_826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you playing there anyways?

            [–]OldBlueLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, Iggy Azalea was wearing pants!?
