@NASCAR has agreed to another @Netflix documentary, but plans remain unclear as teams try to get a new charter agreement first. Some teams have considered declining to participate in a playoffs-focused show if a new charter deal isn’t done by then.

What is everyone thought on the Sadler Brothers appearance on DJD? What is everyone thought on the Sadler Brothers appearance on DJD?

I thought the conversation was interesting, and a few things stood out to me:

  1. Elliott not being a fan of Jack Roush. It was odd that he was adamant in 2006 about not driving for Jack, which seems to stem from his departure from the Wood Brothers in 2002 and Roush's concerns about him possibly taking the DeWalt sponsorship with him.

  2. His comments about M&M's wanting to follow him to Evernham.

  3. His remarks on Evernham Racing being in such dire straits as early as 2007.

  4. Hermie’s comments about how TV was paying more than driving, which led him to give up his full-time racing career

What things surprised you about seeing a track in person vs on TV? What things surprised you about seeing a track in person vs on TV?

I've got three examples

  1. The banking and elevation changes at North Wilkesboro. It looks much flatter on TV, and you really don't appreciate how down into a hole turn 1 is until you see it in person, especially looking at it from the back stretch.

  2. The elevation changes at the Charlotte Roval. Standing in the garage watching cars go through the first leg after turn 1 is startling. It's MUCH higher up than you'd think.

  3. The narrowness of the turns at Daytona. You hear people talk about it, but I didn't really appreciate it until I did a track day there. They're TIGHT when you're up there at speed. I'm already impressed by what pro drivers can do, but I got a whole new appreciation at the precise car control to go three-wide through those turns and not wad it up.

What other things have you noticed at tracks when you were there in person? Stuff people should look for when they visit a track for the first time?

Marcos Ambrose Marcos Ambrose

With the announcement from 23XI about Juan Pablo Montoya coming back for a one off race at Watkins Glen, it got me thinking will we ever be lucky enough to see someone within nascar able to convince Marcos to come back over for a one off race like Juan is doing?

I feel as if there’s still plenty of nascar fans out there that enjoyed Marcos racing here and enjoyed his personality too and would enjoy seeing him come back for a one off appearance.

Fan Videos of Gen 4 flybys from the 2000's? (Or any fan videos of flybys) Fan Videos of Gen 4 flybys from the 2000's? (Or any fan videos of flybys)

There are two old relics of NASCAR videos that I love to watch, both of which are fan videos taken from the stands of old Gen 4 races:

2005 Aaron's 499 at Talladega: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e0snZ-3Kcc

2007 Bank of America 500 at Charlotte: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EI8-TGeiHE8

I really love it when I find new videos from Gen 4 races since they are pretty hard to come by since YouTube wasn't really big back then. I was wondering if any of you guys could find or know of any other similar videos from 2000's Gen 4 races, and even if not, some videos like these from more recent races would be cool too. I just want to have a collection of these videos.
