Aaron Nola
Sorry if this is a repetitive topic but what are people’s thoughts on the Phillies giving Nola a contract in the offseason? I don’t see him getting a start in a wildcard series this year unless something drastic changes…

The best outing of his career thus far, it lowers his ERA on the season to 2.19. It is the first 9-inning complete game and 9-inning shutout of his career.

16 years of Aaron Nola. Nols has been the soul of this team since 2015, and a triumph of our much maligned (until recently) farm system.
The value of Nola isn’t just his numbers, as he is one of a dying breed of 200 IP starters, as well as a face of our franchise since before the pre-Harper days. This contract is about more than his production. It’s a statement that he is a Philadelphia legend for reasons we should not forget. He is not only the first, but one of the most important pieces in bringing us out of the dark ages of the 2010s. And when those dark ages ended, he’s stepped up in October time and time again.
Here’s to the best years being still to come. Thank you Middleton, thank you Dombrowski, thank you Nols for getting this done.
