I like the step by step. Can I give a little feedback?

The first trade generates a $3Mish (after subtracting Kenrich's amt) exception, not a $20M one, IIRC. Regardless, it generates no cap space, just room for the S&T.

Third one doesn't quite work. I think you'd have to move Huerter to a 3rd team, but that pick would incentivize. I do think Saric or Craig would be more likely than Jae.

On Hunter -- I think that value is close but don't think he'll agree to it...

I’d rather select Dyson Daniels and Jalen Duren if we’re going to keep Hunter and move Collins.

If we move Hunter, no problem selecting both Daniels and Williams. I don’t want a log jam at the wing spots again.

If you draft Duren you punt on OO.

Or punt on Capela. I think we’d get more back for Capela and I think OO will continue to get better and improve his shooting

That is technically possible, but it wouldn’t happen. You don’t want two centers that are that young. Literally never happens for a reason.

I think OO can be a 4. Dude said he was going to develop a jumpshot and I believe him.

This sub overrates Hunter pretty consistently but anything close to 4yr-55M would be an incredible deal

Definitely not a roster improvement move for next year Building again for the future(which might not be bad.). This is the opposite of a consolidation trade for a star. Just seems like a waste of time for us to not have traded collins earlier if all we get now is a salary unload

That suns trade would never happen

They don't keep OO if they swing something for Ayton.

They keep OO Atl only giving Clint

In your scenario they’ll keep OO but in reality if we get a new high end Center then they will probably trade him. You don’t pick a young lottery talent to have him play limited back up minutes. They’d probably move him for a wing or something

Or he could play pf

[–]thestallion11 -2 points-1 points  (7 children)

That’s Always an option but he was drafted as a 5 , I don’t think they’d change his position. The interior defense of OO and someone like Ayton would be really good but on offense It would be a mess unless OO turned into JC 2.0. Which in that case just keep JC

[–]fuyz 1 point2 points  (6 children)

If OO became Collins, you wouldn’t keep Collins haha. Contracts matter.

[–]thestallion11 -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Of course you wouldn’t but why would you draft a young C hoping he’s going to turn into what your current already PF is.

[–]fuyz 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I was going off your assumption that it happened. And if OO gets a jumper, he for sure becomes a PF on any team. Too short to guard guys like Embiid and his defense and switchability would be so valuable guarding PFs and the wing.

[–]thestallion11 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

I agree that he could be tried as a PF but they have said over and over that he’s a Center. It just seems that they’d probably just trade him if we got a Max C to play over him. Would seem pointless to have him as a 12 minute per game back up.

[–]fuyz 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah I don’t think he stays if we get a max center AND if he is still not a PF yet.

That said, if we get a max center, we’re screwed.

OKC isn’t trading Williams unless they are getting a first. He’s on a very cheap $2 M contract which allows any team over the cap to fit them in their salary cap this year and extend using his Bird rights. That’s a pretty valuable piece for the right teams given his role playing ability.

Gallo has a negative value now. He’s only really valuable for the Hawks to get a large contract for him coming back. I don’t think there is a team in the league that wouldn’t decline his last year option if they got him in a trade. Unless a team has a longer term contract that they want to move out of in the $20M range (or part of a larger package), Hawks will need to move assets to get off him.
