Hey guys! I became a mod here 2 years ago, but I have been completely inactive over the last year. When I joined, I really thought I had a good idea with the Verified Analyst thing to cut down on the spam and self promotion. It was nice for awhile but ultimately I allowed too many people to become analyst because I had a hard time saying no to people who requested it. This eventually lead to us having the same problem over again and about a year ago I just lost interest in trying to moderate it entirely.
I’m here today proposing what will be my last attempt at reviving this sub, but I will only go through with it if enough people are in support of it. So here are the two options:
Option 1. Allow it to go on as it is
If people are genuinely ok with this place being nothing but self promotion and business marketing, then choose this option. I will allow it to continue as is, and I will leave the sub as a moderator.
Option 2. Zero tolerance self-promotion policy
If this is the more popular option, I will be shutting down all self promotion entirely. This means the sub will no longer allow links at all in posts or comments. This includes links to blogs, YouTube channels, etc. None of it will be allowed. Every post will be genuine conversation with no promoting any businesses, affiliate codes, etc. This is my preferred option. In my opinion 2 genuine posts per week would be better than every post being a link to promote a business. But ultimately the choice is yours.
Whatever the outcome is, I will make sure it’s done by the time NFL preseason starts.
