I threw them in the trash.
I will continue throwing them out every time I see them and while I had already drank my coffee that day I will make sure to save some next time so I can dump the rest all over your papers to make them unrecoverable.
I pass by a few of these stands every day and I will get rid of any that I see... Don't worry I carry hand sanitizer.
By the way, you are a giant piece of shit.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen

There is not sufficient transportation for Algonquin College. The 88 Hurdman and 88 Terry Fox have been jam packed starting from 7am. So much to the point that people are being left waiting (2 whole bus loads of people).
On my commute I pass by Carleton University and they don’t seem to be dealing with the issue to the extreme that people at Algonquin are.
It took me an hour and 45 minutes to get home from Algonquin to Bronson/Gladstone. One 88 Hurdman never came and the next one could only take a portion of the people waiting. There needs to be WAY more 88s and additional bus service to and from this location- especially to the downtown core as many people live even further.

Welp it honestly feels like 2017 was not that long ago. This really sucks for last semester students as their diplomas will be held back causing them to lose/delay potential job offers.
the letter students got from the union
We still have received 0 information from the college at this time most students really feel left in the dark. I can empathize for the teachers and most students see it as the higher ups being greedy.
Figured I'd post cause I have not seen anything on this sub about it.

I've done this treck before during my last stint at the 'Gonq, however I drove so it was 45 minutes one way on a good day.
I'm looking at the 4 hour round trip daily by public transporation, and just thinking to myself how crazy that actually is. Why is our public transportation so shitty? I always see "We're Hiring" on the busses passenger information display system, yet the busses are unreliable at best, and Uber has surged its prices in response to inflation.
Is anyone currently doing this mission? The program I'm interested is 2 years. Should I just move to Nepean at that point? I was hoping to save money by living at home, but even that has absolutely crippled my finances. Everything is too expensive ffs and the only way to get the training for a better salary means going into massive debt, who thought up this system? They must be staying afloat by drowning everyone else. /rant.

I’m in a competition with GAC and I have been told that if I pass my interview I will be asked to provide my french levels. I have never done an exam and I’m english essential so I will have to be tested for BBB. I have done various introductory French courses over the years on an on-off basis but I will definitely need some help. My mother tongue is a romance language so im not completely out of my depth (hopefully!)
In your experience, for those of you who have passed language testing what is best Algonquin College or Alliance Française? Also do you have any other approaches/strategies schools I should consider for passing BBB?

Hey y'all.
Not sure how active this subreddit is, but I'm the Club Leader of a political campus club and trying to put eyes on this issue. Algonquin College is refusing to release the candidate placements, vote totals, and turnout, to the constituent groups who voted. We'll be filing an appeal to the Election Review Board with the help of a candidate.
Here's a tweet thread about it:

Posting here for anyone interested in masonry – there’s a free Brick and Stone Mason program being offered this fall through Algonquin College. There is absolutely no cost for the training, all tuition and costs of materials are covered through government funding.
The program runs from October 12 – December 17 at Perth campus and will involve hands on learning, safety training and job market preparation. This is a 10 week (Monday to Friday), in person program. It’s a one-time program that may not be offered again.
If you’re seriously interested in brick and stone masonry and just need the training, this is your chance. Don’t pass up the opportunity to make a big move for your future. All this will take is your time.
September 28 is the application deadline – you can start your application here:
There isn’t much “fine print”, but you do need to be 18 or older (17 with a high school diploma), currently unemployed or underemployed and not in education or returning in the Fall, and either a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident. Algonquin College also has a vaccine policy in effect, as this is in person training.
You can find out more about the training here:

Hello, this is Allen.
Some people might have heard of me from LinkedIn about my college story.
I graduated Computer Programmer with co-op at Algonquin College in 2019 and wrote my journey on Medium. It consists of 6 stories based on the semesters - 4 study & 2 co-op. You can get some idea of what you are going to learn and what it's like working as a co-op student.

Just recieved an email detailing that the strike is more likely to be taking place.
Dear Learners, I am writing to inform you that talks between management and OPSEU broke down today, and notice was given to begin a work stoppage on Monday, October 16th. The attached communiqué will give you the details as we know them tonight. I am disappointed by this news. However, I commit to you, as I have in the past weeks, that no student will lose their year because of the work stoppage. In addition, we will work towards a harmonious return of our colleagues, once the work stoppage is over. I will communicate additional news to you as it becomes available. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Student browsing Orientation Website

So I was just evacuated from Algonquin college. The smell was putrid in the T building. We were packing up just before the alarms went off, but I've heard from people in other buildings that they could smell it too. Firetrucks and paramedics are on the scene. I've gotten well clear of the school and am heading home for the day.
UPDATE: ALL CLEAR GIVEN
Gas Smell Not Hazardous - All Clear Given to Students and Employees to return
A gas smell that encircled Algonquin College and the surrounding community earlier this afternoon has begun to dissipate, allowing College Security to allow students and employees to return to the campus. While not hazardous, the smell remains pungent in sections of the College and those experiencing light headedness should seek fresh air.
Given the lingering smell, faculty and managers are asked to use their discretion in determining whether to continue with classes and college activities.
College officials have spoken with Ottawa Fire Department who have reported that they have received numerous calls. OFD has been in contact with Enbridge Gas and they have been assured that it is an odor issue with no threat at this time.
Further updates will be provided as they become available.
