Personally I love it, “Hard Time” and “Rose Colored Boy” are some of my favorite songs by them. But I don’t really hear a lot of people talking about the album. I guess I’m wondering if people don’t like it and it shouldn’t be spoken of, or if it’s just really meh? What are y’all’s opinions and opinions of the album?

I think overall its a better more, cohesive album. Wondering who agrees?

Hi everyone! After Laughter is my favorite album from them. I LOVE the groovy sound! Especially how it hides the sad lyrics on songs like Rose Colored Boy/Fake happy. Does anyone have any suggestions similar to this album? Artists, songs, albums, I’m open to anything.

So I’m a huuuge fan of everything Paramore has released since day one but does anyone else feel like After Laughter is insanely good?

Alright, so, I just wrote that little post about DREAMCAR's DREAMCAR and then it hit me....THE SAME DAY THAT DREAMCAR CAME OUT AFTER LAUGHTER BY PARAMORE CAME OUT, HOLY FREAKING SHIRTBALLS.

After Laughter is the fifth studio album by American rock band Paramore. It was released on May 12, 2017, through Fueled by Ramen, as a follow-up to their self-titled album Paramore (2013). The album was produced by guitarist Taylor York alongside previous collaborator Justin Meldal-Johnsen. It is the band's first album since the return of drummer Zac Farro, who left the band with his brother Josh in 2010, and the departure of former bassist Jeremy Davis, who left the band in 2015. After Laughter represents a complete departure from the usual pop punk and alternative rock sound of their previous releases. The album touches on themes of exhaustion, depression and anxiety, in direct contrast to the upbeat and vibrant sound of the record.

Upon release, After Laughter received critical acclaim from music critics, who praised the band's new sonic direction and the 1980s new wave and synth-pop sound on the album. Several publications featured the album in their year-end lists, including Billboard and Rolling Stone. In 2019, Pitchfork listed it at number 169 in their list of best albums of the decade.

After Laughter was supported by five singles: "", released on April 19, 2017, as the lead single, "", released on May 3, 2017 as the second single, "", released on August 29, 2017 as the third single, "", released on March 2, 2018, as the fourth single, and "", released on June 26, 2018, as the fifth single. Anyway, I love the hell out of this album, it's great in all the right ways and I can not wait to see where Hayley and Co. go next!

I can’t be the only who hears it

i’ve always noticed the parallel between paramore’s “fake happy” (and the whole after laughter album as a whole) and ariana grande’s “fake smile” just because the song starts with “after…..laughter…comes teeeaarrsss” and i felt that that was exactly what hayley + the band was trying to convey with this album. any other ari + paramore fans notice this? (and also both songs start with “fake”)

So guys... I got a notification on my phone saying the preorder is ready. It's official and I'm screaming.

After Laughter is , without doubt , one of the most well-received albums by the fans so far and one of Hayley's and Paramore's best work. However it's not just the lyrics expressing Hayley's break up pain or Zac and Taylor's great musical phrasing; the album itself is a materialization of of Hayley's mental state at the time.

See , Hayley's divorce , her inner demons and everyday struggles really took a toll on her mental health, resulting to deep depression and psychosomatic symptoms. Yet , Hayley wouldn't let her inner battle show on the outside, pretending to be happy for a long time ( eventually resulting to "Fake Happy" and "Rose-coloured Boy").

Hayley's situation is depicted on the whole album. The album might seem nothing more than a funky-80s tropical vibe list of songs , ready to be blasted at some beach party but if you dig into the lyrics and the backstory of the songs you will most likely not want to party with them. Same with Hayley; a happy, beautiful person on the outside , but with lots of pain on the inside.

Spotify will now classify albums song by 3 genres and it called Fake Happy “pop-punk” i definitely disagree but just curious what everyone thinks the most pop-punk sounding song on it is
