I live in Affton and the area along tesson ferry from say music road to Laclede station road was impacting significantly. There’s tons of tree damage, electrical fires, and debris.
I have trees down in my yard. Siding damage. My patio and backyard looks like a warzone. Two neighbors had fires one from a down wire and another in a tree (lightning?) Just kinda wild.
Amerens out here and I saw/heard a lot of emergency vehicles. Cops were out on tesson with flares. Just a mile from here however is completely normal. A tad unsettling honestly.
Any of you in the area experience this?
Edit: I mistakenly said Laclede landing instead of Laclede station road. Just tells you how Lou I am. 🤣

Hey all,
I’m in St Louis, and I’m dating a girl who lives in SE MO near Farmington/Perryville/Ste Genevieve area. I’m looking for some date ideas somewhere south of Affton so that she doesn’t have to drive an hour and a half to come up here for fun date activities. She doesn’t drink so dates that are primarily about alcohol don’t work, but it is fine to hang at a brewery if there are other fun things to do like games.
So far I’ve found a bowling alley in Crystal City, a Cajun place called Taytro’s in Festus that has live music (any good?), and tbh that’s about it.
Just wondering if any other Redditors know the area and can help out. Thank you!

Hi guys,
My husband and I are planning on buying a house this summer. My top choices are Maryland Heights/U City/Tower Grove, but our realtor also suggested Affton. I know where it's located, but I don't really know too much about the area. For specifics, we are a young, liberal, interracial couple who are planning on adding to our family later this year. Good school districts, diversity, and open minded/tolerant neighbors are really important to us. I did a quick Google search, but all it had to say was that the community down there "tends to lean Conservative", which isn't that helpful when you live in Missouri lol Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: My husband and I have read all of your comments, and we'll definitely look into it. From what we've gathered, it seems a like a good mix that we would be able to live comfortably enough in. Thank you all so much!

We looked at a house today in Affton that we love but I'm unsure of the neighborhood. We have a 4 year old so good schools is a must. How is the crime around that area? Give me your thoughts, please.

Anybody else who lives or works around Affton know what I’m talking about? It comes from the factory across the street from Tower Tee on Heege. Someone I know said they know someone who works there, and apparently they make some generic brand of blueberry pop tarts. The scent is so strong right now!
