Advent Rising and Mass Effect, Strangely Similar

Does anyone remember Advent Rising? The game was originally supposed to be a trilogy where your choices would carry on to the next installment. Now this sounds a lot like Mass Effect. Both games center around the fact that Humanity isn't a important player in politics, or even military wise. I remember when the Advent Rising came out it was totally different in terms of story, where we where not on top of the food chain and how you could "make your own choices". Now another comparison if i recall correctly, is that the main character has the same powers as a biotic in ME, the Advent Rising friendly aliens remind me of Turians, and if I remember right the main villain was also of that species. I always saw the comparison for the two since ME was released. What are your guy's thoughts on it? plagiarism? Spiritual successor? Prequel to the First contact war?

"HUGE" soldier Easter Egg in Advent Rising theory

I just recently watched Odd's video "7 Easter Eggs That Were Never Found" and when I got to the last one it got me thinking. What if WE are the huge soldier, I'm 100% sure we would appear huge from the tiny soldiers' perspective and it would also explain why no other hidden rooms were found in the area. This is just a theory so if anyone would like to add something onto it I would love to hear it.

TIL that the publishers of the game 'Advent Rising' originally offered $1,000,000 to the first person to find all hidden symbols within the game, but then had to change it to 'copies of several of its games' due to issues with Xbox Live.
