Full sequel? Day 0.

[–]t33g33[S] 964 points965 points  (54 children)

If they'd let us preorder now, the eshop might crash

[–]OneTrickSenpai 379 points380 points  (0 children)

Yep, the announcement website is already dead.

[–]merle_ 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I was ready for a DLC and be okay with it. So happy it’s a full game now.

[–]AdamG3691 186 points187 points  (31 children)

Team Cherry has managed with one game to get into the list of game series I'm willing to break my no-preorder rule for: Hollow Knight, Monster Hunter, expansions to MMOs I'm currently playing, and major Nintendo games

[–]greenrob 170 points171 points  (19 children)

That’s a pretty big list of exceptions lmao

[–]OliveOilBaron 11 points12 points  (3 children)

For me it's only certain Nintendo games. A new Zelda, Mario, DK, or Samus adventure I'm 100% in. Some of the party games (minus Smash and Kart), I wait and see.

[–]peopled_within 26 points27 points  (0 children)

HELL FUCKIN YEAH!!!

Oh my god

[–]mvanvrancken 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TAKE MY MONEY YOU BASTARDS

[–]MLaw2008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish I hadn't seen this. Now it's all I'm going to be thinking about at work.

[–]Sirerdrick64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Day -1

[–]sosloow 1689 points1690 points  (48 children)

Turns out, the best Direct reveal wasn't even shown on Direct.

[–]BookJacketSmash 266 points267 points  (33 children)

No lie, more excited for this than Mario maker 2, hands down, no question

[–]Drift_07 276 points277 points  (18 children)

tetris battle royale

[–]mvanvrancken 122 points123 points  (15 children)

You know, I played that a little last night and it was lots of fun.

[–]finger_milk 65 points66 points  (5 children)

I just stopped playing it now. Tetris will always be so much fun!

[–]DJToastyBuns 52 points53 points  (4 children)

The Battle Royale thing makes it sound like a cheap joke, but honestly? It works

[–]CynicalOpt1mist 35 points36 points  (1 child)

That’s one of the things I love about it, it’s such a janky idea in theory but omg it’s soooo goooooodddd

[–]DJToastyBuns 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Peak 2019, for sure

[–]finger_milk 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Yeah I thought "why would it matter if I'm being attacked or if I attack badges only" because it's just Tetris, but there is some strategy in how you can create the most pain.

A LOT of people attack badged players so if you are too good you do get punished. The best players will still make it to the top positions, but their journey up there is so much harder than those who take it a little slower and fight the stacks that come from other players

[–]BreakYourselfFool 18 points19 points  (6 children)

It really is a lot of fun. I could only manage to get 7th place, one time. But man, that took everything I had. I was very proud of it. Going to try to get a top 5 spot tonight after work.

[–]mvanvrancken 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I got to #10 once and a couple of top 20's. I used to play the shit out of Tetris on the GB so I feel like I just need to knock the rust off and maybe, just maybe, I can win one every now and then. I'd be happy finishing in the top 5 though.

[–]b4mv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been obsessed. Streamed it for 2.5 hours last night. 3 #1s. When you get up in level, the opponents get way better

[–]fzh 12 points13 points  (3 children)

I played Mario Maker regularly for 3 years after its launch, and I’m still almost as excited for this as I am for Mario Maker 2.

[–]KushDingies 20 points21 points  (5 children)

I'm more excited for this than literally the entire direct put together.

[–]NabiscoFelt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually really enjoyed some of the reveals in the Direct (I'm super down for FExPersona, Astral Chain, whatever that new Square game is called, and Link's Awakening), but Hollow Knight is one of my favorite games of all time. This wasn't even a contest

[–]TheOlppoMan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is the beat reveal there could possibly be in the realm of gaming. There are 2 things that couls beat this for me, and they are Alan Wake 2, and Half Life 3

[–]Seanspeed 1769 points1770 points  (65 children)

These guys are gonna be assholes and likely only charge $15 for it again too, making me feel like I'm ripping them off.

[–]Stregen 359 points360 points  (5 children)

"This game is a mastapiece for your wallet"

[–]MyKey18 45 points46 points  (3 children)

0/5

[–]loveengineer 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Zero outta fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive...

[–]primed_failure 26 points27 points  (1 child)

Doesn’t even come close to Knack 2 baybeeeeeee

[–]Lava39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MAHSTAH PIECE 👌

[–]Drjay425 358 points359 points  (1 child)

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie

[–]LukeyC224 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Scumbags!

[–]TransBrandi 39 points40 points  (6 children)

You can always just purchase multiple copies of the game to further support them. I've bought it on Steam (PC) and eShop (Switch). I may even purchase it on gog.com just to have a non-DRM version of the game.

[–]gskelter 18 points19 points  (5 children)

I really want Nintendo to implement a gift option just like in the Wii. The last time I gave a friend a game I had to give him my credit card number so he could buy it himself on this Switch (I trust the guy that much)

[–]JasonTheProgrammer 9 points10 points  (4 children)

You can buy digital game codes from Amazon or Nintendo's site. I bought my niblings Sonic Mania, the SSBU Fighter's Pass, and Stardew Vally that way.

[–]I_AM_MR_BEAN_AMA 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's great to see someone else using the word "niblings" in the wild!

[–]Elastichedgehog 138 points139 points  (16 children)

I'd absolutely pay 4 times the amount they ask for. I got 50 hours out of Hollow Knight, a game I paid £10 for.

[–]act_strange 31 points32 points  (0 children)

200 hours in Hollow Knight, still streaming it every week, the first game consumed me. I won't survive a second.

[–]shapookya 72 points73 points  (10 children)

buy 4 copies and give them to friends or random strangers on the internet.

[–]Seanspeed 135 points136 points  (3 children)

Did you say GIVEAWAY?

[–][deleted] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

MODS! BAN THIS MAN!

[–]joshbeechyall 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Honestly, with all the generosity going around it is a tempting idea. I would love to share the love of Hollow Knight.

[–]tompurcell 56 points57 points  (0 children)

You’re comment took a turn as I read it. I agree with you 🤙

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Buy a copy for a friend.

[–]monokhrome 8 points9 points  (4 children)

They're also giving out >2,100 copies, and in some cases multiple copies, for free to the original Hollow Knight Kickstarter backers. Easily $30,000+ out the door.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They just want you to play their game.

[–]richtofin819 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are a steam gamer you can make that up by gifting a copy or two to a friend

[–]sime_vidas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The sale will be $5 again. I still feel like a scumbag for buying the original game at that price (or was it $10, I forget).

[–]fishboy_magic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sneaky

[–]hellschatt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd gladly pay more than that this time.

[–][deleted] 588 points589 points  (46 children)

Hollow Knight quickly displaced my favorite game of 20+ years, and when I heard it was getting more DLC I was stoked.

This though? A whole new game instead of just some DLC pack? This is incredible, and far beyond what I was expecting. I'm so fucking happy. Take my money, Cherry.

[–]waqasisme 133 points134 points  (35 children)

Just curious what was the previous favorite game?

[–][deleted] 188 points189 points  (32 children)

A Link to the Past. I've played it through so many times, and still love it dearly.. But hollow knight won me over after my first playthrough.

[–]moogleproof 59 points60 points  (18 children)

A Link to the Past is my favorite too, I wish Hollow Knight had gripped me as much as it did you. It was alright and offered fun for tens of hours, but nowhere near one of my favorites. I'm a bit envious actually!

[–][deleted] 68 points69 points  (17 children)

I didn't think I'd like it when I got it. I'm not big into Souls games and Metroid games were just "alright" to me.

What got me was the artwork and fantastic storytelling with so few words. The gameplay got me later, but the sense of wonder I got from the world was something on a whole other level to me. In a sense it reminded me of what gripped me about LTTP.

I hope that Silksong is the same, and maybe it'll get you too.

[–]t33g33[S] 38 points39 points  (4 children)

This is exactly how I felt. Actually, like many, I put it away after playing for 2 hours. Platforming was not my thing and this dark, empty world didn't appeal to me much. So glad I picked it up again because now it's up there with Ocarina of Time and BotW.

[–]brodeo23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same story here. Played 2 hours and didn’t touch for months. But a friend was really digging it so I tried again and loved it. My first time I was trying to protect my geo too much and that made it horrible. I found the first station and didn’t pay for it because I didn’t know what it was. And having to go back and forth in green path back to dirt mouth was horrible. So I pretty much shot myself in the foot playing it wrong the first time.

[–]shapookya 22 points23 points  (1 child)

One of the best things about Hollow Knight is how 30+ hours into the game you think you are almost done with it and then you just stumble into another completely new zone and are like "no freaking way, there is more?"

Man... can someone come over and hit me with a baseball bat, so that I can forget and play it for the very first time again?

[–]lefix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's already forgotten!

[–]cheetosnfritos 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I enjoyed what I played. I just got stuck and couldn't progress so I gave up.

[–]Mentalink 221 points222 points  (18 children)

The environments look so goddamn beautiful. Hype as hell for this.

[–]Shadow-14 94 points95 points  (3 children)

Also, the animations and combat looks more smooth. If there is anyone that can make a game as good as Hollow Knight (or even better) it's Team Cherry.

[–]tim_rocks_hard 52 points53 points  (2 children)

Also the sound. Thinking back on it, the music, sound, and bug voices gave Hollow Knight so much of its character. It’s so good! And seeing the operatic bits in the trailer make me VERY excited.

[–]OriginalFatPickle 8 points9 points  (5 children)

hmmmm... not too sure about this enemy sprite.

[–]NoteBlock08 12 points13 points  (7 children)

Yea, I'm excited that there seems to be a lot more variety of color this time around. I'm know everyone loves the original Hollow Knight but I just couldn't get into because I got sick of only having shades of one color to see at a time. Pair that with the more acrobatic looking combat and this looks like a Hollow Knight I can actually really get into this time around!

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

What so you mean? The environments we're varied greatly in HK....

[–]Som3SillyName 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are some quite beautiful areas later into Hollow Knight, but I can understand the washed-out color palette driving you away. Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy Hornet’s adventure with the more vibrant color scheme they seem to be going for this time around.

[–]MarcsterS 171 points172 points  (23 children)

Risk of Rain 2 looking good.

Antibirth devs offcially working on Binding of Issac

Toby Fox actually getting on board with Deltarune development

Hornet DLC turned into a full game

It's been a good year(s) for indie games.

[–]SmurfB0mb 71 points72 points  (12 children)

Celeste chapter 9

Enter the Gungeon’s farewell content pack

Spelunky 2

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

[–]MercenaryOfTroy 11 points12 points  (9 children)

Wait. What is up with Celeste and Enter the Gungeon

[–]BJH2001 20 points21 points  (8 children)

I think there's gonna be a new Celeste chapter (i don't know a ton sorry) and Gungeon is getting it's final content update

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (7 children)

Chapter 9 will be basically a grand finale chapter to wrap up the postgame after completing all C sides. A-side length with above-C-side difficulty, several new mechanics and incorporates advanced movement tech like extended hypers.

[–]sixtycakes 8 points9 points  (2 children)

More content for Celeste is great but I can't imagine many people will actually play that if it's C side difficulty. I did all the B sides and had to call it quits. I'm so excited for HK: Silksong since it's not just ridiculously hard content like the Godsmaster DLC.

[–]Babeldude 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dont forget spelunky 2. This year/coming years are so good for all star indie games.

[–]choren64 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Completly agree on all accounts but wait, what happened with Binding of Isaac? I thought afterbirth+ would finally be the last expansion to the game?

[–]otakuloid01 15 points16 points  (1 child)

you thought! BoI is getting yet another expansion, based on the content of the fanmade Antibirth mod

[–]littleliggett 78 points79 points  (10 children)

Is there a release date yet??

[–]KushDingies 74 points75 points  (3 children)

No :( apparently though they already mentioned that they had to push some things to post-release DLC, so hopefully that means they're getting close.

[–]Som3SillyName 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wait seriously? That’s awesome, I was expecting another long development cycle, but if this is true that means that it might be closer than I thought.

[–]Jinno 9 points10 points  (1 child)

They had to push some things to game 3?!? smh

[–]Sol2062 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem like it.

[–]afiefh 78 points79 points  (5 children)

After the beauty that Hollow Knight was I am willing to break my no-preorder rule for this one. Take all my geo!

[–]TransBrandi 32 points33 points  (2 children)

Well, we know that Team Cherry can deliver, and this isn't a new IP or anything, it's something that started as a DLC off of a base game (that you already know that you love) that evolved into a sequel. I don't think it's that much of a leap to say that pre-orders on this aren't exactly a risky prospect.

[–]shapookya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

there is no reason not to preorder a game if you are absolutely going to get it anyway no matter what.

[–]juuump 473 points474 points  (13 children)

We don't deserve this team. They are insane. I am so ready.

[–]Crab_Spy 211 points212 points  (0 children)

shut up and take all of my money

[–]DeathFromAbove_1993 61 points62 points  (5 children)

I love Zelda, Mario maker, fire emblem and everything platinum make but this tops it all for me, can't wait!

[–]Smallgenie549 14 points15 points  (4 children)

2019 is going to be amazing for Switch. We haven't even seen Animal Crossing or Pokemon yet.

[–]SubjectThirteen 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Still no Metroid though...:(

[–]FangkingOmega 4 points5 points  (1 child)

No problem, that just means... another amazing year for Switch is sure to follow!

[–]Zexnet 82 points83 points  (7 children)

This is the best Valentine's Day gift

[–]Fatalchemist 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My wife is going to have to step up her game today if she wants to impress me. I feel bad for her. It's not fair that this is what she has to follow.

[–]Kwtwo1983 328 points329 points  (11 children)

HOW IS THIS NOT THE TOP POST ON HOT!?!?!?!

[–]lefix 56 points57 points  (1 child)

Should have put the trailer link as thumbnail

[–]t33g33[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Lol, good tip thanks

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Too much raw Direct hype left over. This has to fight to dethrone posts with 20k+ karma.

[–]rom211 8 points9 points  (3 children)

A direct happened with Mario Maker 2, dragon quest release date, and Links Awakening being remade for switch. I think they wanted to ride the direct hype but got swallowed by the tsunami of larger titles. I love a good indie, but those games are going to be massive.

[–]shapookya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is now and it deserves it

[–]grandpaseth18 72 points73 points  (10 children)

Looks like the Specter of Torment to Hollow Knight's base game.

[–]Valarasha 26 points27 points  (1 child)

I loved Specter of Torment but this looks way bigger than that campaign.

[–]untalentet 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Which is amazing, I liked Shovel Knight but Specter of Torment is my favourite platformer ever.

[–]rlinkmanl 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Speaking of, still no word on when king of cards is coming out?

[–]FrazzledBear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

April 9th

[–]BrownBagZoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

April 9th

[–]SomaSimon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's coming out on April 9th, and I believe the battle mode is coming out the same day. So excited!

Source

[–]waqasisme 150 points151 points  (4 children)

MY GOD A FULL NEW GAME FUCK YES!!!!! Day 0 buy, would pre-order right now if I could

[–]9DBC9 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This looks absolutely brilliant. Did not expect a brand new game.

[–]Alec1992 75 points76 points  (20 children)

Wait your telling me 3 talented people made the absolute classic that is the original Hollow Knight?

AAA Devs have no excuses if that is the case.

[–][deleted] 49 points50 points  (6 children)

AAA Devs have no excuses if that is the case.

More than half of AAA budget these days is for marketing, anyways.

They're not interested in making good games as long as the game sells.

[–]TransBrandi 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Huge open-world games with all sorts of story / dialog / side-missions / etc. take a lot of people to design. Think about all of that stuff that exists in (e.g.) Red Dead Redemption 2. There's no way that a 3-person team could produce that.

That being said, it's amazing what a small team can produce if they are dedicated and it's a labour of love. A lot of AAA development houses slave-drive their employees to meet middle-management / MBA "goals" and "metrics." For example, stuff like "it needs to be released in Q4 so that we can bump our stock price."

[–]Smooth_McDouglette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would posit that AAA devs work just as hard as indies, just for different reasons. Indies work hard because they want to and they have a passion. AAA work hard because they get fired otherwise.

[–]Seanspeed 20 points21 points  (3 children)

This is super unfair. Modern AAA games are larger and more complex and higher fidelity than ever. Ambition and scope keeps going up in massive ways. The graphics alone requires huge scores of artists(often having to also resort to outsourcing or hiring on temporary devs), along with graphics programmers in order to design and build these assets and worlds and have them work and run acceptably and whatnot. It's a gigantic challenge.

Dont be unappreciative and write off the giant effort all these devs put in for these games. They work their asses off, too.

[–]t33g33[S] 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Yep, only three people worked on the game itself (including porting it to Switch).

[–]shapookya 19 points20 points  (1 child)

for the most part. If you look into Hollow Knight credits, there are many other people who helped out

[–]CowboyNinjaAstronaut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but some of that was stuff like thanking one of their moms for voicing some of the bugs.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They hired outside help with the ports though. Not saying that's a bad thing, it's just not true that only 3 people worked on the game. Even the score was done by a 4th person that's not part of the "team" (Chris Larkin)

[–]rezzyk 11 points12 points  (6 children)

Which makes me really question where the Ori sequel is. I have a feeling that Silksong will come out before the Ori sequel, and the first Ori was out two years before Hollow Knight! It's amazing what these 3 people at Team Cherry can do. Moon Studios is probably not that large, but I'm sure bigger than Cherry.

[–]Francesqua 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ori is a stunning game, but had much more substantial funding and didn't approach the heights of Hollow Knight for me. The sequel borrows generously from the HK formula too (seriously, the map maker is practically a lawsuit).

[–]Mantin95 25 points26 points  (11 children)

Still haven't bought Hollow Knight but I'm ecstatic to play it and the sequel, its incredible to see how much support you guys put into the game! Can't wait to be enthralled!

[–]Dobby1235 20 points21 points  (3 children)

You should play it, its a fantastic game, and surprisingly cheap too.

[–]Schiz0typal 9 points10 points  (5 children)

what do you play on man, I'll buy it for you

[–]waqasisme 65 points66 points  (1 child)

Cherry on top!

[–]justingolden21 23 points24 points  (0 children)

CHERRY ON TOP! CHERRY ON TOP! I want that to stick now lol.

[–][deleted] 44 points45 points  (11 children)

Why wasn’t this in the direct????

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Maybe they asked to be able to announce it the way they wanted?

[–][deleted] 45 points46 points  (3 children)

Probably as to not steal the show of Nintendo's own IP.

[–]shapookya 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Team Cherry are generous gods

[–]oishii_33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nintendo too SHOOK to put Silksong in that Direct.

[–]Shadow-14 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They wanted to announce today and it's only a game reveal; they don't show platforms or even a date on the video (although we know it's going to come out on Pc, Linux and Switch). This direct was more about the upcoming games that are going to release, at least, this year.

[–]SymmetricColoration 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Probably don’t want it to be thought of as a Nintendo game, since it’s releasing on PC/Mac/Linux as well.

Or they just really wanted to announce on Valentines day for some reason.

[–]JoachimG 7 points8 points  (1 child)

that didnt mattered to Bloodstained though, another kickstarter game.

[–]waluigi1999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely because Team Cherry didn't want it or because they were to late "submitting" it I guess

[–]InPasturesGreen 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Absolutely buzzing. A full game? Amazing.

[–]MazPA 96 points97 points  (31 children)

Console exclusive on Switch; this is a huge get for Nintendo.

[–]Milkshakes00 75 points76 points  (21 children)

It says at launch.

I'd definitely not expect it to stay only on Switch.

[–]MittenFacedLad 9 points10 points  (1 child)

It's just a matter of resources.

[–][deleted] 110 points111 points  (3 children)

I'm all in. Charge me $60 for this, I don't care.

[–]thehamsterfactor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is amazing. :D

[–]Kwtwo1983 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely psyched!

[–]SavageBeefsteak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My hype is immeasurable, and my day is made.

[–]JonTomorrow 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yeah, okay. So much hype, but I’ll bet this game will be just loaded with bugs at release.

Seriously, though, great job, the three of ya’s; I’ve purchased Hollow Knight for both PC and for the Switch and I gotta say, the amount of love and care you guys put into your work is absolutely outstanding. Gorgeous artwork throughout every character, enemy and environment, along with the creation of wonderful music commissioned by the talented Christopher Larkin, tell the story implicitly throughout the journey, and invites the player to derive their own understanding of the fantastical kingdom of Hallownest.

Needless to say, I’m super stoked for this! Can’t wait to explore a brand new (under?)land through the eyes of one of my favorite characters. Keep up the exceptional work!

[–]Beateride 14 points15 points  (6 children)

I didn't know that there was a kickstarter for the project :o I would have backed you in a heartbeat Very good work, I'm looking forward to play the game

[–]CowboyNinjaAstronaut 12 points13 points  (5 children)

Silksong is not on kickstarter. Hollow Knight was. But they're so thankful for the Hollowknight backers originally that they're giving them free copies of Silksong.

But at this point these guys are millionaires off Hollowknight sales. They don't need kickstarter to develop Silksong.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it's not just that they're "thankful." Hornet DLC was something high-level backers were supposed to get anyway or a stretch goal or something. But then the DLC turned into "sequel" so that's why the Hollowknight kickstarter backers get Silksong free. Which is awesome...just wish I'd been a kickstarter backer :)

[–]throwawaymelons 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Yup. They've sold 1.25 million copies of HK on PC and switch combined. At $15 each, that's about $18.75 million total. Conservatively assuming they keep at the very least 51% of that after taxes and splitting profits with steam/eShop, that's still about 9.5 million. And that's split across THREE developers. Each developer got at least $3 million from HK alone. That's amazing

Edit: they've sold more than 2.8 million copies actually, my bad

[–]diadem015 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Betterthanthedirect

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You guys are seriously making me scream. Im not joking when I say hollow knight is on my top 3 favorite games of all time. I never thought that there would be a sequel. I am in awe and cannot wait to see more

[–]fuzzynavel34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cannot wait for this. Hollow Knight was one of the best games I've played.

[–]Tmanning47 6 points7 points  (3 children)

As someone still playing hollow knight for the first time, has already put 20 hours into it and no where near an end (I think) this is exciting.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just picked up hollow knight last week after it had been on my radar for forever. Very hyped for this and Ori 2

[–]DoggieDMB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow. Even better than expected.

[–]diadem015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That trailer is insane

[–]Peanutbuttered 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I really hope Christopher Larkin did all the music again.

[–]_Dogwelder 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Holy crap, this came out of nowhere.

Was the release date mentioned anywhere?

[–]t33g33[S] 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Unfortunately not, so it'll probably be a while. In their video they said they plan on giving regular blog updates though

[–]_Dogwelder 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Aha, okay, thanks. That trailer looks ridiculously good, waiting will be hard .. I'll have plenty of time to decide whether to get it for Switch or PC.

Why not both, actually :)

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More hyped for this than the remake of Zelda links awakening and that looked amazing!

Team cherry is quickly becoming my favorite video game company, hollow knight was such a breath of fresh air into the metroidvania market and their consumer friendly practices actually make me worry about their well being as a company.

[–]pitynade 3 points4 points  (2 children)

This makes up for any and all disappointment I had with the last direct (I'm one of those weirdos who is not into RPGS)

[–]KyloRenz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

.....i really need to beat Hollow Knight.

[–]Holymoses43 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Next we will get zotes adventure.

[–]321jakedroid 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Wait you said the backer content was seamlessly integrated etc, but is that content only availible to backers or put in the game thanks to the backers? If not availible to non-backers, can I buy it? Because I would I'm a heartbeat

[–]Fasu_lol12 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It means content that has been designed by backers. Hollow Knight for example had many bosses that were designed by backers.

[–]lolMyBackCatalog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol site is down, from the trailer it looks incredible though

[–]flamingmenudo 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Looks amazing, though I’m not sure if I want listen to Hornet’s female grunts for thousands of times while playing the game.

[–]Francesqua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two Things:

This launches simultaneous on PC and Switch (fuck yes).

Anyone who contributed above $10 to the Kickstarter will receive a free copy on either PC or Switch.

These guys are amazing. Take all my money!
