Edin Džeko

Edin Dzeko on moving to Everton: “What do you think I'm going to decide? I can stay in Rome or go to the pouring rain of Merseyside to play for Everton? Please don't ask me that one again.”

Hi, I'm Edin Dzeko - striker for AS Roma and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Ask Me Anything!

Hi guys,

Edin Dzeko will be joining us today at around 17:00 Rome time (16:00 UK, 11am EST) to answer your questions. He might arrive a little earlier, or a little later, depending on when he finishes training.

To allow Edin to get through as many questions as possible, we are opening the thread up now so you can start to submit them. Please keep in mind that, while we will give Edin free rein to answer what he wants as much as possible, this is a Roma AMA and so we will try to focus a fair share of the topics on the Giallorossi!

Dzeko joined Roma in the summer of 2015, and is currently ninth on the list of the club's all-time leading goalscorers. He was Serie A top goalscorer in 2016-17, and last season became the first player to score at least 50 goals in three of Europe's 'Big Five' leagues (Bundesliga, Premier League, Serie A).

You can ask him about that or... well, anything else you can think of really (you all know how this works at this point).

Thanks!

UPDATE: Edin is here! Proof: https://twitter.com/ASRomaEN/status/1065639285372665856

UPDATE: The AMA is now finished. Apologies if Edin wasn't able to answer your question, although hopefully similar ground was covered in one of the other responses. Thanks for having Edin - and hopefully this is the first of a few AMAs to come in the not-too-distant future! Daje Roma!

6 - Erling Haaland's six goals so far in 2024-25 is the joint-most a player has ever scored in a team's first three Premier League matches of a season, along with fellow Man City player Edin Dzeko in 2011-12. Machine.

[Richard Jolly] Edin Dzeko has scored against Manchester United at Old Trafford for three different clubs from three different countries in three different competitions in three different decades

[OptaJoe] 15 - Liverpool are just the second team in Premier League history to have three players reach 15+ goals in a single campaign (Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota), after Manchester City’s title winning side of 2013-14 (Yaya Touré, Sergio Agüero, Edin Dzeko)

Fenerbahçe’s Edin Džeko (37) & Dušan Tadić (35) have contributed to 42 goals so far this season. The two experienced forwards cost the Turkish club just €0 as they were both free signings.

Yes, really.

r/soccer is pleased to be hosting an AMA with AS Roma's Edin Dzeko on Thursday at approximately 17:00 Rome time. The former Wolfsburg, Manchester City, and current Bosnian international will be here to take your questions!

Edit: Just want to let everyone know that it is possible the AMA may be posted earlier in the day to allow questions to be asked before Edin sits down and starts to answer them. Will keep you all updated

Jose Mourinho admits Edin Dzeko’s move to Inter was ‘a surprise’ and praised Tammy Abraham for showing ‘ambition’ by leaving Chelsea for Roma (Interview with Roma TV)

Edin Džeko on growing up in war-torn Sarajevo: "There wasn’t much to eat, hardly ever three meals a day. We always had to hide when shots were fired and bombs were falling. It was very hard. A lot of footballers start to play kicking a ball around in the street. For me that was impossible."

Edin Dzeko: “People always ask me the difference between playing in England and Italy. England is speed, speed, speed. Here it is tactics, tactics, tactics. It’s amazing how much I learned in three years in Serie A. They think about every small detail here".

Luis Suárez' chances to join Juventus have increased, because the Italian side are unlikely to sign Edin Džeko from AS Roma. [GdS]

[Boring James Milner] I saw Edin Dzeko after the game, I said to him Ah well, you still wouldn’t have won the Champions League if you stayed at Man City. He said Not Now James.
