Recessive genes and inbreeding/line breeding can cause a lot of things to to get expressed. Fortunately this is cute and not health related! Congratulations! You have a unicorn!

If you live somewhere cold, it’s a plus for health

Everyone who sees him says he looks like a panda The shelter just said he was very unusual and they didn't know what he was When Embark said 100% APBT I was shocked the vet thought he might have some pit bull but not 100% . He is very sweet I've had him 4 weeks I found out last week he has separation anxiety now He tore the facing off the door and chewed half inch holes into door frame I tried crating but he brought me the crate door but he has a home

Never seen a longhair pibble before. Can we get a front view? So cute!

There’s two photos. If you swipe to the left you can see a front view

Recessive genes for the win?

That seems reasonable. How cool is he?

Needless to say he is no longer Bubba Rescued 4 weeks ago Embark DNA came today 100% American pit bull terrier He is from a herding breed rescue I am asking they re check their results

so, Embark only goes back 3 generations! I would guess he’s got another breed in there that’s too far back to trace :)

Embark is supposed to be one of the more accurate tests, I'd guess someone screwed something up in the lab.

Oh my goodness! You rescued from All Herding in Joliet? We got our rescues from there! I’ve never seen them take in any pup other than a herding so that’s definitely interesting! Maybe the long coat threw them off too. Beautiful boy!!

I've seen one of these rare gems before. It is rare, not impossible. And it also happens to be quite adorable.

I hope he's doing well under your care. It sounds like you have your work cut out for you!!! I'm stressed out just trying to housebreak a 10 week old bordoodle 😬. Not even looking forward to the damage/destroy phase.

I really like Bubba :(

Oh wow! It’s rare for rescues to actually test. What did the rescue’s test say his top breeds are?

I’ve never seen a long haired pibble before— nor did it occur to me it could even happen! I… I guess I understand the mistake in assuming he’s a herding breed..? Especially if you throw a farmer name like Bubba in there… Oops???
