I'm rewatching American Horror Story right now, and I am not ashamed to admit that Roanoke is by far my favorite season (spoilers)

I detest dramatic reenactments in all forms but they did such a hilariously great job satirizing that genre of television. Plus it has to be in the top 3 Kathy Bates AHS performances for me.

Same! While the cannibal pot farmer subplot kind of dragged on too long for me, I loved the transition from the reinactment segment to the reunion segment

It was one of my favorite seasons personally.

Same here, it was my favorite season. Though, the very, very end made me sick to my fucking stomach. That was a vile way to die, omg. 😩

I don't recall it. What happened?

Roanoke is my second favorite after Coven just because of the time Coven came out it has a different reason why it's my favorite. But I agree with Roanoke being the scariest season in the series especially because of where my house was in the woods at the time it added on to the horror for me.

Oh yeah totally the isolation is terrifying

Roanoke is so slept on but it’s up there with Coven for me.

I think the worst one is Apocalypse. It was like they had a story set up about people surviving an apocalyptic wasteland and then trashed it half way through so they could bring the witches from Coven back.

I really didn't like Apocalypse either, the opening in the first episode is absolutely fucking amazing.

Apocalypse was fucking abysmal. I think I only made it through 3 or 4 episodes.

I didn't care at all about that season until the witches came back personally. I wanted to see how it would end was the only reason I kept watching, but I was not a fan of any of the apocalypse stuff.

I think Roanoke is the scariest and I loved it!

AHS is so wildly variable in terms of how much I enjoy each season, but I think they're all done quite well. They cast a very wide net as far as horror goes.

I did not enjoy Asylum or the second half of Double Feature AT ALL,

Roanoke, Coven, Hotel and Cult were probably my top few. I really enjoyed American Horror Stories as well.

Scream Queens is the best AHS season and isn't even a real AHS season

I loved Asylum until it completely went off the rails towards the end (aliens? really?).

Scream Queens is criminally underrated.

Everyone seems to hate Cult, and that is my favorite one haha

Don't be ashamed. Roanoke is easily the best season as far as I'm concerned. It also has the distinction of being the only one that doesn't go completely off the rails as some point due to a stupid "twist" or the fact that the writers always layer in too many storylines and then can't resolve them in a satisfying way. The story is scary and consistent, the performances are amazing and the meta-ness is just delicious. It's the only season I watched all the way through without losing interest 2/3 of the way through (and then hastily finishing a year later before the new season starts).

Really? It's the only one I don't love. I think Asylum is the best
