Before buying something on Amazon Prime Day, do a quick internet search to make sure an item is actually on sale. Amazon is adjusting prices on items to then discount them to the original price. For instance, the Xbox Series X is currently listed as 16% off ($499.99 with the discount) and they are claiming the original price is $592.97. The original price is actually $499.99. You aren't saving anything.
Edit: for those of you mentioning the Xbox Series X is listed as $499.99 with no discount, you are correct. It appears Amazon removed the 16% off from the listing. I have screenshots and archived the webpage locally earlier today.
Frugality is the mental approach we each take when considering our resource allocations. It includes time, money, convenience, and many other factors.
I’ve just found over the last year:
Their return/refund process has gone to shit.
Their “2 day prime shipping” is almost non-existent outside of household items I can go and grab at Walmart/target for cheaper
The amount of fake/defective products that get returned and recycled BACK into inventory has skyrocketed.
I give up. Not worth my $160/yr.
Only benefit is my tax exemption from when I had a business license that comes in handy with big ticket purchases.

Cancelled 2 days before renewal and before the price went up! Hoping to save some money from not making impulse buys!
Anyone else planning to cancel before the increase?

It was yesterday. This really didn’t seem like a big deal at first. Definitely didn’t think I would post about it in any way shape or form. I really didn’t think much about it when I canceled. That was yesterday.
But today I was thinking about buying a certain product without thinking the first thing I do is go to open Amazon. I then went to play some music as I prepared for my day. Again went to open Amazon music. Which I didn’t think about until after the fact. Sat down in front of my tv. And went to watch certain show I like. Didn’t think about it until it wouldn’t play. Decide to listen to an audio book. Go to pull up audible. Damn how many things do I have I’m my life tied to Amazon? Too many. I can not get over how weird this feels. It shouldn’t bother me but it does. Thanks for reading.
Edit: I was surprised at first by the people accusing me of being an Amazon bot. But then I wasn’t. cause idiots.

I was looking through my subscriptions and I realized that I'm paying about $140 a year for Amazon. I rarely watch anything on Prime since the only things that appeal to me require purchase or rental and I know I don't save $10 a month in free shipping.
Do you feel like you get your money's worth out of Amazon Prime? Are there benefits I might be missing?

Got an email from Amazon Prime advising about some changes:
“As of April 8, 2022, the price of the annual Prime membership has increased from $79 to $99, plus applicable taxes. The new price will apply to your renewal on May 26, 2022.”
That’s 25.31% - Wow Amazon seriously? More than doubled the inflation rate.
What are you thoughts? Thinking in cancelling the service.
