2025 Kia Tasman ute: New teaser photos give our best look yet
The Kia Tasman ute has dropped much of its camouflage in the latest teaser images, ahead of its unveiling later this year.
This is our best look yet at the exterior design of the 2025 Kia Tasman ute without the bulky black disguise of previous prototypes before all the covers come off by the end of this year.
New teaser images published today by Kia confirm the 'sausage-style' black plastic panels over the wheel arches are not there to disguise the shape of the car, and will be fitted to the showroom Tasman.
The latest photos confirm the tall, blocky styling seen in previous spy images, with large windows, sharp LED headlights and a footprint expected to be larger than a Ford Ranger or Toyota HiLux – though smaller than a Ford F-150 or Ram 1500.
The Tasman in the teaser photos is wrapped in a design created by Kia in partnership with artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop, and is claimed to have been inspired by "Australia’s diverse landscapes".
It looks to be the same vehicle caught on camera last week in a revealing leaked video which exposed the Tasman's interior, with two large displays, and a wand-style gear selector on the steering column.
As previously reported by Drive, the Kia Tasman – named after the sea between Australia and New Zealand – is due to be unveiled before the end of this year ahead of first Australian showroom arrivals in mid-2025.
The new ute – developed partially in Australia – will be sold in markets such as South Korea, Australia, Africa and the Middle East, and represents the company's first diesel dual-cab pick-up.
It is due to launch with a 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine shared with other Hyundai and Kia models, with plans for an electric version at a later date.
