You heard me.
Michael "Fire Me" Malone is already talking about how we swept the Lakers last year in the Western Conference, and about how we swept the Lakers in the season series.
Okay, you see the problem here. THESE GUYS KEEP COMING BACK. You can't sweep Lakes, they're too moist. If you sweep something moist, it just gets moral victories and comes back later. Fuck that shit.
Malone needs to own up and bring a mop to this series. Whether it takes 4, 5, 6 games to properly wipe the floor with them, the most important job is to finish and make sure you got every spot.
Once the Lakers are properly wiped away, we will be done with them for good and they will truly respect and fear Malone and his mop.
In all the chatter around the Nuggets v Lakers, I never hear Watson being brought up. People keep alluding to the loss of BB and how we’ve lost bench depth, but they always fail to mention the rise of Watson.
I think people are underestimating how good our bench is in general. Reggie, Holiday, Braun, and Watson can all have positive impact on games.
I’m excited to see our bench guys show out and prove themselves on the big stage, and I’m especially excited for PSWAT.
Coby White is only making 3/36. Meanwhile, Naz Reid is at 3/42. Both are clear examples of players that make very little money given how good they are.
What other examples are in the league?
There is a couple of different lineups that Malone could go with for this postseason but the one I think and hope that he plays is one with AG at the 5, MPJ, at the 4, and PWat at the 3
Per Cleaning The Glass when AG has been the backup center and he's playing with PWat and MPJ they have been an incredible regardless of the backcourt whether it be Jamal paired with Braun or Reggie paired with Strawther. The 2 reasons I think this works is because of size and defense. With PWat at the 3 you push either Braun, Holiday, or KCP at the 2 and now your SG is either 6'5 or 6'7 and your SF (PWat) is 6'8. Not to mention the fact that you still have MPJ and AG who are 6'10.75 and 6'9. This directly ties in with the defense because as you all know we switch everything with Jokic off the floor so now you have multiple great switchable defenders at almost every position.
Now, of course they're not going to be a +29 in the playoffs and be one of the best defensive lineups of all time lol but the reason I think its still going to be dominant is because although a small sample the games that this 3 man lineup has been used in have been in some of the hardest games of the season. The Celtics games, the Thunder game away, the last Wolves game and even in high pressure situations that Michael Malone really wanted to win in. In the Thunder game the lineup of Jamal, KCP, PWat, MPJ, and AG was a +20 with a ORTG of 105 and a DRTG of 85. This was the full Thunder squad as well with only Jalen Williams missing. Another example of this was in the recent Wolves game where they were a +12 with an 100 ORTG and an incredible 87 DRTG. For reference the Offensive Rating in both of these instances is pretty terrible but the defensive rating would make them the best in the league by a mile.
I keep seeing doubts about our "bench" for the playoffs but I don't think people realize how much of an incredible defensive team the bench is going to be. Sure it might not be pretty but this actually makes me more confident for a repeat since one thing that travels and is always consistent is defense. Who knows though maybe Malone goes to Reggie and Mal plays small and I wrote this for no reason lol
Just moved from Denver and am looking for my Nuggets crew!
I'm looking for a video of fan reactions to Jokic's buzzer beater against the Warriors.
I can't really remember if it was here or but I do remember seeing it in Reddit. I've been looking for it for a long time but I can't find it.
He played well throughout most of the playoffs last year, but came up short in the finals.
MPJ has such a high ceiling as a scorer plus he can be a decent rebounder/weak-side rim protector. His size on defense and offense has so much potential. He needs to be more aggressive on the glass, leverage his size in the paint on defense, and attack the rim on offense. He can be so much more than an just an oversized spot up shooter.
If MPJ gets hot throughout this post-season, we are 100% repeating. It’s one thing to have jokic/murray going off. It’s another thing to add MPJ into that mix. When he’s locked in on both ends, this team cannot be stopped.
Is there a discord channel for Nuggets fans? I live in AZ and am a diehard fan. All my friends are Suns fans. Looking for people to root with during this playoff run!
