Especially "Dogs of War" and "On the Turning Away."

It's not DSOTM or Animals but neither is anything else. Especially the Final Cunt (Waters solo album)

This album is one of my favourites from the band and I don't understand why people hate it so much

A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987): How good is it?

A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987): How good is it?

This is one of my favorite albums and I love the single "One Slip" but when I talk to other friends of mine who are fans of Pink Floyd, they all seem to not care about it or consider it bad. Is this a common thing? What is the general consensus here of that album?

There's just something about the way Gilmour combined 80's synth-wave with rock that just really sounds great. it's a very atmospheric and dreamlike album in my opinion and I love it the same way I love stuff by Vangelis.

Has Roger Waters ever talked about a momentary lapse of reason or division bell?

I assume he’s heard them even out of curiosity when they came out, especially a momentary lapse of reason, but I’m curious if he’s ever publicly said his thoughts

Now I know, it's not the best PF album out there. But I say it's still pretty good. Some people ''hate'' this album or something, but I don't. The writing of Gilmour is good/alright, but the vocals are awesome. I just love David Gilmour's soft voice. It feels like you are floating in the air. The guitar shines in this album, but the other instruments also do that. The best song in this album is by far Learning To Fly. Sorrow, On the turning away, Terminal Frost and The Dogs Of War are also good. The album's lows are just A New Machine pt.1 and 2. This album isn't better than The Division Bell, but it's still A tier for me.

Share your thoughts about this album.

How much did Rick Wright actually contribute to A Momentary Lapse of Reason?

I'm aware Rick didn't rejoin the band until after David and Nick had already started recording AMLOR. Does anyone know how many of the songs / keyboard parts he actually wrote or played?

TIL that exactly 700 actual beds were precisely laid out on a beach and used for the cover of Pink Floyd's album, "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason". None of them were cardboard cutouts.

  • The other reason is that the central focus of the story (perhaps I should have left in the 200 word summary) was how a seemingly insignificant event that occurs during the EU4 timeframe, i.e. the British landing in Quiberon (compared to say, the fall of Constantinople, discovery of the new world, reformation, enlightenment, Waterloo, etc) could have drastic differences on Europe as we know it today. members
