Alice in chains is better than nirvana

Nirvana is overrated. They have a couple Of good songs but everything else is just eh

Alice in chains is by far the better band. Better vocals, better guitar, idk if anyone can say Dave isn’t one of the best drummers of all time but Sean Kinney sure is up there too.

Layne over Kurt anyday

Edit: I’m not ignoring nirvanas impact or influence etc it’s simply who I feel is better as musicians and songwriters. Not who started grunge or who had more cultural significance

Just discovered Alice In Chains Unplugged

There's a few times in life you stumble on a musical performance that just reaches your soul. I've always been a fan, but never really had any details about the band other than the lead singer dying. A week ago YouTube recommended the alice in chains unplugged performance. To actually see Layne Staley is that mental and physical state, and give that kind of performance was incredible. To see him in that much pain, sent me down the YouTube rabbit hole. I've been watching all things aic for a week straight. I have no idea why or how I've never watched or listened to the unplugged set, but it rivals queen live aid imo. Just damn sad how it ended for him. The gibson interview with Jerry Cantrell was excellent in describing how they all came together. I've only listened to the hits, so going through every album is going to be a treat. So far this week, I've listened to their 1st 4 albums. Sorry for the rant, I'm just surprised their unplugged performance has affected me in this way.

Alice In Chains had the BEST MTV Unplugged

Not a debate. Just pure talent, amazing songwriting, chemistry, real emotion, even made mistakes to show that no one is perfect, some people didn’t even think it was going to happen.

What’s your favorite song they played?

I’d have to go with Down in a Hole.
