I have a pretty strong rig and I absolutely love the original Alan Wake, so I will most likely buy the new one.

However, I will say I would rather have it on Steam... but it is what it is.

The most things I like from Epic exclusives is:

The game doesn't sell well because most People doesn't buy on Epic
Probably it's broken because it's a 2023 AAA game
One year later it's on Steam fixed and with a discount.

Remember guys, don't fall for the FOMO of a new release, 95% of every new game you would like to have are not as good as the game you bought 1 year ago you didn't opened

We've all seen the steam stats for the most used hardware and I think it's about time games came out that pushed the hardware needed forward....

I don't think optimization is the issue here....

I think it's the fact we've been dealing with bad graphics card prices for too long and the money spent isn't worth the performance we get.

Blame AMD/NVIDIA.

On consoles this is a new-gen exclusive game. Why are people expecting their 7+ year old GPUs to run this fine?

Lots of people seem to have their expectations stuck in 2013/14. Back then PC hardware had been ahead of PS3/X360 for years, and then the XBone/PS4 came out with GPUs that were pretty outdated on launch with roughly GTX 750ti equivalent power.

Devs are targeting the new consoles now, pushing the hardware with tons of new features, and the PS5/Xbox Series X are roughly equivalent perf to RTX 2070 Super.

If the game is good and run on my hardware, I might buy it. Seems like it's 49,99 on Epic Store, so at least the release price is more than ok. Not sure why I should hate it, but here it goes: EPIC BAD. Never had any problems with Epic and the price is way cheaper than Stream releases.

I don't have any hurry to play the game, but the first one was actually good. Remedy hardly ever misses… Almost forgot, that this is also PS5 release. Any version is ok for me.

PS. Does this game come with DRM like Denuvo? That is the only thing I would avoid 100%. I rather take laxatives, take my clothes off, and run a marathon, than pay to get f¤ucked in the a$$ by Denuvo.

When I saw the GPU requirements I thought …. all that for a dude with a flashlight and a jump scare game. Seriously?!?

Edit: I get the visuals are important as part of the PC master race. If it was an action rpg, sure thing go hard. But for a jumpscare game? It just seems like over kill for me.

I think using Unreal Engine coupled with a mid range card should be able to do the same as a stand alone 4090.

It’s good to push the envelope, i’m just not convinced Alan Wake 2, a sequel to a game that look years to get good sales numbers, is the right game to push the envelope.

I got the original Alan Wake for free on Epic Games a couple years ago. I played maybe 1 hour of it and never played it since. It seems like a good thriller/horror game, but I'm not into that.
