Air Jordan 13

The air Jordan 13 is hands down my favorite basketball shoe of all time. I've tried KDs, Kobes, Currys, Hardens, recent Jordans, Pumas, Kyries, PGs, Dames, Zoom Freaks etc and it tops them all. It's the only shoe I've doubled up on, and despite having released well over two decades ago, it's still on par with (if not better than) today's performance shoes.

My playstyle:(there was recently a post on how sometimes ppl overdo this part so ill keep it short lol) I'm 60kg and 180cm, have average width feettall skinny SG, don't spend that much time in the paint so bear that in mind if you're a 4 or a 5

I got the flint and the playoffs colorways, IMO playoffs are slightly more comfortable at first bc the toebox leathers of recent 13 releases are a lot softer but it doesn't make that huge of a difference. I've played in them countless times for two years now btw. Now on to the review...

Traction: 9/10. Awesome traction. sharp squeaky stops, minimal dust pickup, and durable enough to last a while outdoors too. They're a lot better than most traction setups of modern shoes I've tried. Only reason I gave them a 9 is because technically you could say that god-tier tractions like Curry flows and Kobe 9s stop a smidge harder but these are still incredible, you probably won't have any problems with them.

Cushion: 10/10. I've had minor lower back/knee/achilles issues in the past, so cushion is important to me. Of course everyone's cushion preferences are different, so keep that in mind. I like something in-between- softer than the old kyries but sometimes Boost and zoom strobels can feel a little too mushy to me. The Jordan 13 is just the perfect blend of impact protection, court feel, quickness and stability for me. It has a forefoot and heel zoom unit in a phylon midsole, and the zoom units are top loaded, so you can feel them really easily- they feel like pillows under your feet, in a good way. Some top loaded zoom setups are still hard to feel, like the Zoom Freak 2s, but fortunately they did it right with the Jordan 13s. You're also really low to the ground, so it's great for court feel and quick movements. I can play in these for 2-3 hours and not experience any pain anywhere afterwards.

Support: 10/10. Support is another crucial factor for me- If a shoe lacks something in terms of support, my flat feet and achilles will let me know right away lol. The Jordan 13 never gave me any problems. Carbon fiber midfoot shank is awesome, gives me all the torsional support I need without being overly stiff and gives the shoe a nice springy feel as well. The leather upper has no problem locking your foot down, and the rubber outsole pods are friggin amazing. It's not easy to roll your ankle in these .

Fit/sizing: 8/10. The fit on these is fine, don't get me wrong, it's just that I've had slightly better fitting shoes(like the Harden 3s/Curry 7s) and these aren't 100% perfect. The heel area could use a little more padding, but I didn't have any heel slip so I never had any issues, the rest of the shoe is fine too. For sizing, I have one pair in my true size and one is a half size down- what I'd recommend for most people is just to go TTS. If you have narrow feet maybe a half size down could work, but my toes did not like the break in process for the half size down so I can't say it will work for everyone. They feel fine now, but the break in process was pretty long, so in most cases TTS is the safe bet. Ofc trying them on in store is the best option.

Also- they might look a little heavy/clunky, but once you put them on and start playing in them they don't really feel heavy, so it never bothered me. The rubber outsole pods take a little getting used to, the heel may seem a bit clunky at first but again, you get used to it quick and it didn't bother me either.
